She’d fallen for the guy who had held her prisoner for six years. Every time he’d asked why she didn’t leave, her answer was she was protecting Kevin and Christian because she was afraid of what Jesse would do. She had said she wasn’t afraid to die but she wouldn’t let anyone else die in her place. Eventually, Jesse had started treating her like his wife and she had come to care for him. This was one twisted situation. 


 The DA was behind the glass monitoring everything Renee said. The DA was a hardass and everyone knew it but he felt for this woman. No one would ever know it by looking at him though. He called his office and got them to draw up an agreement allowing her to take the body if she testified. It would be a while before they could get on a court docket. They didn’t need the body anymore. He walked out of the room and went to the observation room next door. They would be bringing Kevin in shortly to see if they could break him.
