A Declaration

Jordan Carder called the meeting to order and, once they had finished the formalities, they were ready to begin.

"Well, Ambassador, say what you will," Jordan said, smiling. "The floor is yours."

"Thank you, Chairman Carder," Webber said courteously with a short bow, taking a step forward. "Members of the Council, I come before you in need of your help. Twenty-three years ago, I was chosen by the members of this Council and sent to Pyre to fulfill a position as the Ambassador of the Kingsmen to the state. As the Kingsmen representative in Pyre, I have lived my life peaceably and with honor until this time.

"I was recently arrested and subjected to a trial which was nothing more than a malicious mockery of justice, my execution having been both prearranged and predetermined. It is only by the benevolent grace and manifold mercies of our King that I am able to stand before you this day a free man, my life continually and jealously guarded for the work yet given me.
