The world dungeon. A mysterious construct. It is spoken of in myth and legend. It stands tall, reaching through the clouds above, yet none can enter.  

No one knows what lies within. It has stood quietly for generation after generation. 

But now it stirs. 

Only a hundred people can walk the dungeon. To leave it, they must conquer it.  

 

Or die trying. 




Note: Any character resemblance to actual people is coincidental, all work is original. On the off chance I figure out how to put pictures in the story, any works you see were more than likely found with a google search. If the work belongs to you let me know and I give credit/take it down. That being said I'll mark my own work.

Thousand Floor World Dungeon

I looked at forest in front of me. The trees were a few dozen feet tall. Asseylum stood nearby. 


'This smell... goblins, and orcs? Also, some of these markings are from slimes. Just what is going on in this forest?' I wondered as I began to walk into the forest. Slimes and goblins went to together about as well as fire and water. 


Asseylum stopped every now and then to collect a mushroom or flower. 


'Herb gathering is it? She must have gotten the gathering skill then. Herb gathering is useful, but the potions made from them generally can't be consumed when you fight by yourself in my experience.' I thought as I kept glancing around. 


I saw the glint of metal and leaned back in time for an arrow to whiz past my face. 


'If I'd known this was going to happen, I would have grabbed wind blades instead.' I thought as the goblin was roasted. 


A branch snapped as a goblin charged towards me. 


My sword flew out and sliced its head in half diagonally. 


Another three goblins ran out towards us, one for Asseylum, two for me. 


An arrow also flew towards each of us. 


I quickly fired a fireball at one of the goblin archers, and blocked the short sword of the nearest goblin with my own sword. I swung my staff and caused a goblin to stagger. My leg kicked out and knocked the first goblin away as my sword twisted to stab through the last goblin's heart. 


Asseylum began to pummel her goblin to death. 


Another fireball flew out and hit the other goblin archer. 


I pulled my sword out and blocked a crude knife with my staff and sent the goblin flying with a kick this time as I decapitated the first goblin. 


The goblin I just sent flying turned to mist and dissipated. 


'A doppelganger ability. Why would a goblin have that?' I wondered as I shook the blood off my sword and picked up the crude knife. 


'Not bad for a goblin's weapon. I can use this for a while, or at least until I get my hands on a decent throwing knife.' I thought as I looked at my status. 


Skills: Basic Swordplay, Fireball, Lesser Heal 


Enhancements: Demonification, Humanization, Vital Boost 


Equipment: Basic Mage Robe, Basic Mage Staff, Basic Leather Armor, Basic Leather Boots, Simple Iron Sword, Crude Goblin Knife
