It was less than two weeks before the wedding and everyone was busy preparing for it. As promised, Laura had scheduled for them to go to the bridal store for some fitting. Her mind was so preoccupied that she almost forgot about the package that came in that morning.
While Robbie had gone to the office and Sasha was busy in her room, she took the small brown box to their room to open. It was addressed to their house but no return address. She wondered who could it be from as she carefully opened it.
Inside the box was a smaller red velvet box, enough for a single piece of jewelry to fit in. Her heart raced rapidly as she remembered it clearly.
Could it be the one? But how?
Alex had not seen this box for years and as she took of the top, there laid a heartshaped jade locket with a golden link. She held it in her palm, as she shakily opened it. A picture of her mother as a young woman was inside, smiling.
