They rang the doorbell and a tall handsome man stood in front of them.

“Alex?”

“Hi, Robbie.”

“It’s been a long time.”

“Yeah, well..”

“Mom,” said a girl who emerged from behind her. “Is he the one?”

“The one what?”

She rolled her eyes.

“Duh?! Can’t you see? I’m your daughter.”

“What?! That can’t be right.”

“Better believe it, stupid!”

“Honey!”

“What?”

“I thought you said I’m gay, Alex?”

“You’re what?”

“You hear that right, honey. Your daddy is gay.”

"Hello, Daddy," answered Sasha as she tried to hide the panic in her voice. She wasn't expecting her dad to call her that morning since her grandfather said that her parents would be coming home tonight.

"Hey, sweetheart! How are you? Are you in school now?" Robbie asked. He, too, was trying to hide his emotions from his daughter. He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to think of the right words to tell her daughter that they won't be going home sooner because of Alex's condition. He didn't want Sasha to worry and yet, he knew she would be asking her grandfather once she comes home from school.

Sasha glanced at Kellan for a moment as the boy just stared at him, not knowing what to say. She was tempted to put it on speaker but then decided not to for fear of being caught. Her dad would surely ask why it was too silent in the background.
