2. Blood donation

Lara stared at both of them with a confused look and asked, "Both are the same person right? " Both of them nodded together.

'Weird family'

The nurse came at once and asked her to follow her. She nodded and followed.

Liam was extremely tensed about his sister's condition, but he was feeling a weird feeling deep down his heart when he saw that it was the same girl who had bumped into him earlier.

'God what is happening to me. Why is she having such an impact on me??'

He was surprised that she did not recognize him or her mother. They were very popular and influential citizens of country A. But then he thought that she might have decided to pay attention to his sister rather than him.

Lara was escorted to a room next to the ICU. The nurse helped her quickly complete the formalities and then she sat in a chair while the nurse injected the syringe in her hand.

She sat with her eyes closed and was squeezing a smiley sponge ball in the other hand to ease her pain.

Liam was feeling curious about how she would be and decided to take a look at her. He went towards the door and stood and was peeking at her.

He saw her sitting with her eyes closed in a calm expression. She looked beautiful. All her features were relaxed. He couldn't stop himself from staring at her.

Lara was sitting there calmly. Suddenly she started feeling as is someone was staring at her. She shrugged thinking it was just her imagination.

But she kept feeling it and decided to open her eyes and see. When she did she saw him quickly look away.

'Was he staring at me? Nah. Impossible. Why are you imagining things Lara?? Focus. ' Then she brushed the thought off her mind.

He sighed with relief outside the room. He was almost caught. He then walked towards the ICU and stood opposite to where his mother was sitting.

After giving her blood, she stepped out of the room drinking from a bottle of fruit juice to replenish her energy. She then walked towards the ICU and sat beside Emily.

She saw that the mother was extremely worried about her daughter. She seemed extremely drained and was struggling to hold back her tears. She felt a deep sorrow within.

She pulled out a bottle of water from her bag before taking one of Emily's hands in hers and giving it a gentle and reassuring squeeze.

"Ma'am, please drink some water. Your daughter and grand child will be fine. Please don't wear yourself out. You need to be strong to play with your grand child, right??", she said and placed the bottle in the woman's hand.

Emily was looking at the floor all this while. When she heard her voice she looked up and saw her hand her a bottle of water.

When she heard her, she felt a sort of relief. She accepted the bottle and drank some water and said in a weak voice, "Thank you dear. "

Liam was looking at her and thinking. 'We are nobody to her, but still she is so compassionate and is trying to soothe mom. She is certainly different. '

He then saw her hold her hands together, close her eyes and bow down. It looked as though she was praying. He again felt that indescribable feeling.

The doctor came out and told, "Miss Lina has given birth to a boy. Both the mother and child are safe. Congratulations! "

All three of them were on their feet.

Lara immediately said, "Congratulations ma'am and sir".

"Thanks a lot!!", both of the replied at the same time. Emily suddenly pulled her into a hug and said, "Thank you dear for being there for my daughter ".

"You're welcome ",Lara replied with a sweet smile. She then pulled away and said, " Please give my congrats to your daughter. I'll take my leave now as I have to attend an important interview tomorrow."

She turned to leave when Liam suddenly spoke, "Miss could you tell me your name?" She turned with a calm face and said "Lara".

Then she continued jogging. She wanted to call and tell her parents about her interview.

Liam was smitten by her and was not able to take his eyes off the slim and tall figure jogging away from him. He didn't come out of the daze until they brought his nephew out. He had a happy smile and was thinking, ' Lara. What a beautiful name. '

Lara reached home fast and called and told her parents who lived in country B the good news. They were delighted and congratulated her. She then planned her outfit and organized her file and bag for tomorrow's interview.

She then decided to let off some steam by playing her favourite game for a while. The Oriental Odyssey was an RPG game, based on ancient legends.

She used the user name Andra. Her character was a female warrior, whom the rest of the members of her team assumed to be lesbian as her partner in the game was a female.

The rest of the team had met each other quite often in gettogethers, but Lara never attended any of them. She always used to be a topic of discussion and many of them assumed that she never came to their gatherings because she was ugly.

She knew about all these rumours, but never paid any attention to them.

She went to sleep after playing for a while and eating dinner.
