31. Can she be her??

Soon the police arrived and arrested the men. When both their parents saw Lara hanging they were struck with horror so were the officers and hospital staff. They noticed that Liam also had passed out, but he didn't seem to be injured

Her face was completely pale, her clothes dripping in blood on the top, she was hanging almost motionless. They could see her chest struggling to take breaths in.

They quickly brought her down and rushed both of them to the hospital.

Lara's parents repeatedly apologized to Liam's parents who said that it wasn't their fault. Soon the Page family left the country with an unconscious Liam

When Liam gained consciousness, he realized that he had reached his house. He couldn't remember much about her. When he asked his parents about her, they said that they couldn't get any details about her. It was the truth. Her parents had concealed her identity well.

Even later when he tried finding about her, he couldn't get any information. The inspector said that he would reveal her identity only after her parents permit him to do so, so he couldn't get any information.

From that day he felt fear in the dark when he was in a new space alone.

" Boss are you okay??", Lara asked when he saw that he looked lost. He snapped out of his past and shook his head.

Can it be that that day it was actually her???.... He thought.

Lara was engrossed in the book she was reading so she didn't notice someone looking at her.

The little light from the flash light along with the moonlight highlighted her beautiful face. Her enchanting blue eyes following the words. Her lips forming a slight smile when she read happy parts. She looked like an enchantress.

God Lara…. What are you doing to me….. I have never felt this way while looking at any woman and rather they disgusted me…. But why am I getting even more attracted to her…. He thought.

" Did I ever tell you that you look gorgeous??", he asked in his daze. She looked up in a confused look.

She was engrossed in reading so she didn't her him clearly." Huh ??..", she asked.

" Um… Nothing…. Is the novel you are reading interesting??.... Are you hungry??.....", he asked while fumbling with his words. He immediately snapped out and cursed in his mind.

Liam… What the hell is wrong with you????.. He thought.

" En.. The book is fun.. I am a bit hungry as I didn't eat anything for quite a while", she replied. Then she put her hand inside her bag and removed a snack box. It had variety of nuts in it. Liam looked at the box and then looked at her.

" I usually carry a box of nuts in case I feel hungry. Please join me boss.", she said while opening the box. They munched on some nuts till it got over.

After a while Liam looked at his watch, it was already 10:30pm. When he looked at her, he noticed that she was fast asleep. Her face was facing him. Her facial features were relaxed and her breathing was steady. He looked at her with a smile on his face.

He slowly took her hand in his and placed a kiss on her knuckles. He then held her hand and fell asleep.

They woke up only after the sun had risen.

Lara was the first one to wake up. When she noticed that he was holding her hand, she immediately pulled it away out of shock. He woke up because of this action.

" Ohh.. I am sorry boss I didn't intend to ruin your sleep", she said apologetically." No it's okay", he said in a sleepy voice. He realized that he surprisingly slept very well last night. Then he remembered holding her hands, a smile crept up his face.

Both of them stood up and stretched. They walked towards the door when they heard it open.

When the librarian saw them, she was stunned. She realized that they got locked in and immediately started apologising.

Soon both of them got inside the car, they felt really hungry. Lara looked at her watch and realized it was only 7am.

She looked at him and asked," Boss I know a small hotel that will be open at this time. I am not sure if you will like it because it is a local one unlike the normal star rated restaurants. You can join me if you want...."

"Sure", he replied before she completed her sentence. He wouldn't mind even eating from a dustbin if he will get to spend time alone with her.

When Lara checked her phone, she noticed few missed calls from her brothers, she immediately rang them up and told briefly that they got stuck overnight and she was fine.

Both the brothers were worried sick when they couldn't connect with their little princess. They got their life back only when they heard her voice.

It was a small restaurant called Mr. & Mrs. Fuller, just like she said. It was clean and hygienic. It was run by an old couple.

There were very few people inside.

When the old couple saw Lara entering, they immediately went forward to greet her. How could they forget such a sweet girl.

" Hi dear. How are you doing???.. It has been so long… Have you forgotten this old man and woman..", Mr. Fuller said while giving her a quick hug. He had a small pout.

She couldn't help but chuckle at his childish behaviour." Grandpa, how can I forget the two if you… Even if I want to, I can't…. And hadn't I come just a few days back??", she replied while giving Mrs. Fuller a tight hug.

Liam saw how intimate she was with them. The fact that she addressed him grandpa also surprised him.

They were ushered to empty seats." You will have your usual right dear???", Mrs. Fuller asked.

" Yup. They have their special pancakes, would you like to have those??", she asked Liam." Yes", he replied.
