67. Her heart tingled for the first time...

" Boss??"

Lara uttered in shock. The people inside turned their heads towards the door in shock when they heard Lara.

Crash!!!

A streak of lightning flashed and it lit Liam's face. Lara's eyes slowly scanned him from head to toe.

Liam was wearing a two piece black suit with a black shirt inside. With a gift box in his right hand, he stood there with a small smile on his face.

When Lara's eyes reached his face, she couldn't look away. There were few drops of rainwater on his face. This along with the background of rain made him look impossible hot.

Lara was just staring at him in a daze. There were two reasons for this. First, because of shock, obviously. Second, the way he looked couldn't help her hold herself back from staring at him.

Lara didn't know why, but the cold aura he usually had and the rain made him look extremely sexy. A weird combination of coldness and hotness that made her heart tingle for the first time in her life.

A feeling she never felt towards any guy before….

Liam stood there waiting for her to welcome him in. Seeing that Lara was just staring at him in a daze and had no intentions of welcoming him in anytime soon, he cleared his throat to get her attention.

Lara immediately snapped out of stupor. She immediately stepped aside and welcomed him.

" Um… Please come in boss..", she said quickly and ushered him in. He stepped in with a smile.

When Lara turned to see the others reactions, she saw more than what she expected.

The entire group except Miles and Maria, who were staring at each other in a daze, looked like they had seen a ghost. Their mouths were wide open and their entire bodies stood still.

Liam looked at them and chuckled." Why are you all acting as if you have seen a ghost??!", he asked with a smile.

A Ghost??!!

A ghost would have been much better than him…. Who wouldn't choose to see a ghost over a stone-hearted devil??

Seeing that they were all standing like mannequins, Lara cleared her throat to bring their attention back.

" Good evening boss!!", they all wished at once. They couldn't meet his eye after the way they were just staring at him for a while.

Miles and Maria snapped out of their daze when they heard everybody wish Liam all together. Both of them looked at Liam with a hint of surprise in their eyes.

' So you actually came…', Miles thought inwardly with a smile. He actually didn't think Liam was going to turn up when there was no sign of him till the time they were going in for a toast. But surprises are best kept for the last, right??

This was definitely the most unexpected surprise that everyone in there received.

" Um… May I know how you knew about the… Um.. Party boss??", Lara asked hesitantly.

Every single person turned their heads towards Liam to know the great person who spilled the beans.. Let that person be struck with lightning right now!!

It was not like he wasn't allowed to come. He was an exclusively invited guest. But since the time he took over the company two years ago, after his father's death, he always turned down the invitation.

They invited him only a few times and he didn't come for any of those, so they stopped pestering him.

" Oh! That, Miles informed me of the get together and since I was free this evening, I thought to join you guys in the fun… A boss has to know his employees well after all..", Liam replied shamelessly.

Liam calmly put everything onto Miles without even a hint of hesitation.

Everybody glared at Miles. Miles gulped nervously seeing the dangerous glares that he was receiving.

Even though none of them uttered a word, their eyes were speaking.

" Why?? WHY??!!!" " Can't you let us live for a single day without boss?!!!" " Why ruin our party???!!"

Lara and Maria covered their mouths with their hands to stop themselves from laughing out loud. Lara really pitied Miles now… The poor fellow got ratted out by his brother.

Liam was standing there confused as to why they were all glaring at Miles while Lara and Maria were holding themselves back from laughing, completely not understanding the fact that he had just put his brother in trouble.

Sigh.. Poor Miles…. You told Liam about the party so that you could give him an opportunity to spend time with Lara, but now he just pushed you to take all the blame and was looking like an innocent kid who didn't understand what was going on..

You brought this over yourself…
