Mountain peak

But is there no information about his father's death?" asked, Cynthia intrigued.

"Not yet, I am working on it and so on Adam. Anyways I am getting late for work. Don't you have to go to the hospital." asked Victor standing and giving her hand to hold.

"Yeah, do you also have a night shift today?" She eyed him suspiciously, he was working in the morning shift till tomorrow like her, but just when she got the night shift. He also got a night shift.

"Hmmm, yesterday a colleague got shot while stopping a gang fight and I was asked to take his place from today onwards." He replied, shrugging his shoulders. 

What he said was half truth, a colleague actually got shot but he was not asked to take his place. He himself requested that, so that he could also have a night shift like Cynthia, and they could spend a good time together after coming back. Otherwise they won't be able to see each other in spite of living in the same house.

"Oh, okay" she replied holding his hand then she turned to Valerie "take care and have more rest, we will meet tomorrow"

"Go ahead, I will keep food for both of you." She replied with a lazy smile covering herself more with a quilt and stretching herself on the sofa. Since the space Cynthia was covering was empty now. They both smiled at her lazy actions and left for their work.

But just after one hour, she started feeling bored. Mostly they have the same day off, so she was always with them or working. But today she was the only one who was free and she already had overslept in the morning and lazed around the whole day. It's only eight in the evening and she was already out of ideas to spend her time. Oh how much she missed her friends and her powers. 

She was reading a magazine absentmindedly when she saw a beautiful picture of a mountain. After reading its details she realized it's not very far from here and since it's winter night, it would almost be deserted right now.

 She could fly there for a while and play with plants. It's been a long time since she used her powers to grow flowers. She missed their touch and smell.

She instantly got ready and took the cab to the mountain foot. Driver kept on peeking at her strangely, and couldn't help but ask "ma'am don't you think your dress is not good for the mountain. Even if you are going to attend the show. There would still be cold and snow outdoors."

"En, show! Which show are you talking about?" She asked confused 'who has a show at the mountain, are all the hotels or clubs closed? And here I thought I would be alone there.

"Oh, you don't know. There is a club at mountain foot, it provides you a great scenic view but also has the strongest heater system. So you could enjoy snow without feeling cold. It's a famous place among rich people because it has every facility. 

From tennis to basketball, swimming to golf plus karaoke rooms. There are various meeting halls also. And today an award winning singer, Lilith Hardy is going to perform there. Many people have hired thee cab for going there. So I thought you are also going there."

'Great here goes her plan in drain. No I will not let them ruin it. I will walk a bit and when I won't sense any humans I will fly from there. After All they can't see me from a club because most of them will be inside in this chilly weather' "so, all the people, i mean the show will be on mountain foot, there wouldn't be anyone on its peak. Right?" She asked most casually she can behave. She didn't want him to doubt that she was going to the peak. There was nothing wrong in being cautious.

The driver looked at her with shock. "No ma'am the temperature there will be in minus degrees. Who would go there to freeze himself. It's already around ten pm. Here you are. Look there is the entrance of the program. Have a good day miss" he said pointing at the nearby entrance.

"Oh, thank you" she paid the fare with a generous amount of tip because he saved her from making a mistake and also shared a good amount of information with her.

Looking around she found a lone path and started walking, after half an hour she tried to sense the aura of beings around her. She used her whole power to sense living around her through their warmth, when she was sure that no one was around, she stopped. 

She closed her eyes and within a blink her wings sprouted out and she smiled. "It's been a while" she mumbled, looking at her beautiful golden wings. She fled, with a beautiful smile on her face and enjoying the scenery, humming a song while feeling the chilly wind cutting her. 

"The driver was right, the temperature would definitely be in minus degrees. But it felt so great man!" She was fully enjoying her flight, the way the wind was touching her, that she forgot to use her senses to detect humans again.

After reaching the peak, she landed herself in a plain area covered with snow. Then she started roaming still humming a happy tune with a beautiful and enchanted smile. If anyone would see her right now. They would definitely think that she was a fairy, and would be totally mesmerized by her charms.

 Her hairs were flowing with the wind. She smiled and looked at the flowers which were withered due to snow. She held them in her hands and within a blink they came back to life, just like a new one. All the flowers bloomed around and she laughed. It felt like she became one with them. Her golden eyes were glowing and her laughter was reverberating in the whole peak. It was a fascinating scene to behold in the canvas.
