Episode 5: Lost Labyrinth (2): No escape (2)

The two soldiers crouched down and aimed their gun at us but then, a pool of blood splashed on to the soldiers blinding them. The confused soldiers tried to wipe their faces but the woman dashed forward holding a gun she took from the dead body.

The 'yo' guy ducked and shifted his body in front of the soldier closest to him using it as a shield. He continued to drag his blade across the next neck as the confused soldiers shot randomly at them.

The commanding soldier grabbed on to one of the firing guns and nudged the soldier away. "You useless piece of shit!"

The soldier - who got their gun taken away - was still blinded by the blood as he fell towards the woman chasing her way down. Bullets rained from both sides of him.

"ARGHH!!!" the commanding soldier shouted.

The woman fired back while dodging all the bullets using the soldier's body as a meat shield - their bulletproof armour helped absorb most of the bullets.

As the commanding soldier was distracted, the 'yo' guy picked up the gun and aimed it at him. "Hey."

*Bang*

He shot the commanding soldier's leg.

"ARGHH!!!!" the commanding soldier screamed.

*Bang*

Another shot pierced the commanding soldier's arm and he dropped the heavy gun.

The last remaining soldier glanced out of the bloody curtains as he watched the events unfolded in front of him - his gun still raised.

The woman crept up behind him. "Any last words?"

The soldier shiveringly turned his head as he spoke up. "E-Erm..." His eyes were panicking as they looked towards her face. "I-I recognise-"

*Bang*

The blood splashed all over the gun as she jumped back avoiding it.

"Bloody bastards." She took the gun and swayed it.

"So," the 'yo' guy said. "'Commanding soldier'... or shall I call you, lieutenant?"

The commanding soldier stopped his screaming. "Who... are you?"

"You're not in the position to as questions."

The woman pointed her gun at him preparing to fire.

"Wait," I said. I stepped out from the corner holding on to my wound.

Glancing over behind her, the other woman leaned against the wall as the dead body covered most of her body. Blood splashed and spilled all over the corridor as dead bodies scattered all over the place.

"She..." I took another peek at the woman in the far corner. "She looks familiar..."

Immediately, the woman with the gun pointed it at us and the 'yo' guy pointed his gun at her.

"Give him to me," she said sternly.

"Step back," the 'yo' guy replied.

I tapped my hand on the 'yo' guy's shoulder and waved my other arm indicating to lower his gun. He slowly placed the gun down, but, taking advantage of the situation, the commanding soldier gripped tightly on to the gun and pointed it towards the woman.

The 'yo' guy shot his other arm and they flopped down towards the ground. "Don't try anything funny."

The woman at the back slowly got up and made her way towards us dragging the bloody bag with her.

The lieutenant lost consciousness and fell down on to a pool of blood.

The woman continued to walk towards us breathing heavily. "Hey... *Huff*... Claire... *Huff*..." but she fell forward.

The 'yo' guy dropped his gun and dashed towards her holding her up; her face was visible to me.

"That's... the girl from earlier?"

The woman - still pointing her gun at me - turned her head back looking at the other woman and then back at me; she proceeded to lower her gun slightly releasing her tensed grip.

"Let's talk this over?" I suggested.

She nodded and walked back towards the other woman.

I dragged myself over towards them passing the dead bodies around me; my shoes drenched in the blood.

The weak woman's eyes were dropping and she lost consciousness falling into the 'yo' guys arms. "Let's get out of here first," he suggested.

"Yeah," I muttered.

* * *

The woman holding the gun followed behind us as the 'yo' guy lead the way. After a few turns, we reached a room. It wasn't like the other, it was locked. The 'yo' guy placed the woman gently on the floor and swiped a card unlocking the door.

"What... the?" I murmured. "He really... is hiding something..." I shook a little.

The woman behind me tapped my shoulders and asked, "Who is he?" Her finger was ready at the trigger lifting the gun a little.

"N-Nothing!" I said as I placed my hand on the gun lowering it.

"She overheard me..." I thought to myself. "Shit."

"He's not a bad person," I added.

As the door slid open, two people rushed out from the room greeting him.

"You're back!" one of them said happily hugging him.

"Is... everything alright...?" the other one added.

"What...?" I said. "Who... are they?" I asked.

"Let's get inside first," he replied.

"Okay..."

We walked in one after the other and I sat down near the barrels.

"Stay here," he said.

"Wait! Antonio, where are you going again?" the happy girl said in a sad tone.

"I'm going to check something," he smiled. "Don't worry and stay here. I'll be back soon."

"Umm, come back soon!" she added cheerfully.

"Antonio," I muttered. "His name's Antonio..."

Looking around, the room was filled with barrels and boxes laid nicely into shelves. They stretched high up about five metres tall.

The two girls sat down next to each other and began to munch on some food.

"Boxed... lunch?" the woman next to me said.

"Whoa!" I shouted.

"Sorry."

"Ah... it's okay." I looked at her sitting beside me soaked in blood. "So... I'm Karen a poli-," I cleared my throat. "I mean, I'm Karen. What's your name...?"

"I'm..." she shook slightly, her hands trembling.

The timid woman woke up and looked towards the shaking woman. She dragged herself closer and placed her arms over her shoulders, "Hey... hey... it's alright. Calm... everything's fine, Claire." The woman shook more fiercely but then she grabbed on to her hands putting them together. "It's fine now... you're Claire... Claire, okay?" She continued to console her.

I looked deeper into her face. "Woah..." I murmured. "She's a beauty... she's young as well..."

"It was a mistake to assume she's old... she's probably around 20..." I thought to myself. "So... she was the one with that guy and that kid, where are they?"

"Erm, hey," I spoke up. "Where's the other two you were with this morning?"

She looked up to me, her eyes were wide open. "It's you?"
