Chapter 31

The villagers that were watching the scene whispered to themselves when fishmen and marines started dropping left and right despite nothing happening to them.

There were only 4 people left standing. Arlong, and 3 of his officers.

Hakai walked towards Arlong, but was stopped by an octopus fishman, a fishman with an elongated mouth, and a ray fishman.

"Who do you think you are?"

"If you want to fight Arlong then you'll have to fight us first."

Hakai looked down at them because of the height difference and chuckled.

"Huh? Why are you laughing? We'll see whose laughing in a second," the ray fishman said as it swung its fist towards Hakai.

"Don't get ahead of yourself. I'm not your opponent." Hakai disappeared from where he was standing, appearing behind the three fishmen. "Makino, Kaya, deal with them please."

Hakai approached Arlong with his sword in hand, ignoring the 3 fishmen.

"What's your name?" Arlong asked.

"You haven't seen my bounty? It's drawn pretty well. My name is Hakai," he replied.

"Hakai..." Arlong's eyes went wide in shock when he realized who he was. "I was wondering who was spreading around those fake bounties. I'm supposed to believe that someone in the East Blue has a 100 million bounty? Don't make me laugh."

Arlong laughed as he stared down Hakai. "Anyway, I'll show you the strength of us superior fishmen. You humans can't even compare."

Arlong stood up and opened his mouth, attempting to bite Hakai's neck, but nothing happened as black scales covered Hakai's neck. "How? Why can't I bite your neck?"

"Who said I was human?" Hakai smiled as he punched Arlong's face, sending him flying towards a wall.

Arlong impacted with the wall, breaking it and creating a cloud of dust.

The dust settled after a few seconds revealing Arlong on the ground bleeding. His nose was broken and his teeth were shattered, but being a shark fishman, his teeth grew back immediately.

'What the hell? How strong is this guy?' Arlong thought as he got up and bent his broken nose to its original position.

"That was a good punch, but I haven't gotten serious yet so don't get cocky!"

"Same here."

'He has to be bluffing. There's no way. Humans are supposed to be weaker than us,' Arlong thought.

Arlong grabbed his teeth, taking them out as it was replaced by another pair which he took out too. He held the pairs of teeth in his hand, chomping them together as he charged towards Hakai, chomping the set of sharp teeth at him like bear traps.

"Careful there. I don't want to ruin my clothes." Hakai parried Arlong's attacks making him frustrated as Arlong charged at him with his mouth open, attempting to bite him again.

"You're weak..." Hakai swung his sword down. This one attack made everyone change their attention to him. The villagers, Arlong's officers, and even Makino and Kaya.

The blade connected with Arlong's arm, going straight through it like butter, disconnecting his arm from the rest of his body.

"Aaaggghhhh!" Arlong screamed in pain as his dismembered arm fell to the ground and his blood leaked everywhere.

"Arlong!" his officers yelled out as they stopped their battle and left to help him.

While they tried to help Arlong, they were stopped by Makino and Kaya. "Don't disturb the boss."

Kaya swung his scythe towards one of them, forcing the fishman to stop trying to help Arlong and continue the fight.

Makino used her Air Manipulation abilities to 'drag' the fishmen back. "You have to fight us first."

Arlong clutched his bleeding stump, doing his best to stop the bleeding as Hakai slowly approached him, his footsteps loud and audible.

"Time to die," Hakai said blankly as he raised his sword and swung it at Arlong's neck.

"Wait, wait, n-" Arlong tried to dodge the attack, but Hakai had gotten bored so he wanted to end it immediately. Arlong's decapitated head fell on the ground causing everyone to look over once more.

"T-They did it... They did it!"

The villagers cheered, jumping up and down as they were smiling with watery eyes. Finally, their hell has ended.

The octopus fishman, seeing Arlong die charged at Hakai with an angry face as he held 6 swords. "You'll pay for this!"

Kaya was about to stop the fishman when Hakai told her to let him deal with it and deal with the other officers.

Hakai swiftly knocked out the fishman with the handle of his blade. He was thinking of keeping this fishman alive since that could make him more famous. Once the fishman was knocked out, Hakai picked him up and threw him to the sea like a baseball, sending him kilometers away from the island.

After a few minutes, Kaya and Makino finished with their battles as the corpse of the dead fishmen laid around them.

Genzou and Nojiko approached Hakai, bowing. "As thanks, we have decided to have a feast. Please stay! You can even keep the berry that Arlong has gathered from us."

Hakai wasn't one to turn down a feast so he accepted.

The feast and celebration went on for several days, although Hakai only wanted to stay for 2 or 3 days and recruit Nojiko, so that was what he did during the past few days.

What Hakai found out was that this One Piece universe had minor differences to the actual One Piece. For example, in the original One Piece, Nojiko didn't know how to navigate, but in this One Piece universe, he learned that Nojiko was actually a better navigator than Nami and that she actually taught Nami what she knew.

So as the new navigator to the crew, Hakai managed to recruit her, but it would seem that it'll take a bit longer to make her his woman.
