Preschool

That night, after Lin Meixing had put her son to bed, and went to do her own things, Lin Jingli found his phone and began searching for Xu Jingchen's information.

Xu Jingchen was the CEO of his family's company. The company had grown at a rapid pace over the last ten years, becoming the top company in the country, and even extending its claws to the overseas market.

Xu Jingchen had just taken over as the CEO recently, and he was very serious. There were a few pictures of him in the news, and when Lin Jingli saw them, he no longer doubted his grandfather's words.

Although he had a few points of resemblance from his mother, this man looked much more like him, but how could his mother ever get in contact with such a tycoon?

Lin Jingli was unaware that their family used to be wealthy too. He thought that they had always been ordinary civilians, and he was even more disgusted with his father. To cheat a civilian girl into being with him, and when she got pregnant, to abandon her. What a scum of a man.

To Lin Jingli, there was no one more important than his mother. She had sacrificed far too much for him, and he knew that she would always give him the best.

There were times where she would not eat together with him. She would cook him a good meal with meat and veggies, while saying that she had no time to eat, but when he was asleep, she would then eat plain porridge because their economy was tight when she still studied.

It was not before the last half-year that she had gotten a job, and was capable of earning more money; before then, she had indeed suffered much while taking care of him, but Lin Jingli knew that he could not mention it as it would just make her feel even more guilty and sad.

The only thing he could do was to grow up well, and become someone who could protect his mommy.

That night he spent a long time reading up on Xu Jingchen. He understood many things about him; for instance, he was known as the demon king in the business industry. He was cold and able to gain anything he wanted. He seemed to have no emotions.

How had his loveable mother fallen in love with such a disgusting man? His mother was gentle and sweet, but she was also stubborn and powerful. She would never bend to others, and would never let go of her morals.

Lin Jingli did not believe that Lin Meixing had a one night stand with a tycoon, nor did he think that she wanted to use him against Xu Jingchen.

It was evident that Lin Meixing loved him more than anything else in this world, and it was even more apparent that she did not hate his father, but had mixed emotions for him.

Hence, something had to have happened when they were young. Being busy contemplating all night, Lin Jingli was exhausted when he finally fell asleep. He was still only a child, and although his mind was much more mature than others his age, he still needed sleep.

Lin Meixing woke up first, and when she saw that her little baby was still deeply asleep, she let him sleep for a bit longer. He must have been tired after coming home to their own country, and even more, visiting the grandparents.

When the time turned half-past nine, she went to wake him up. It was good to sleep, but if he slept for too long, he would be unable to sleep at night again.

"Baby, we are going to find a preschool for you," Lin Meixing said as she looked at Lin Jingli with motherly love in her eyes. "I have been teaching you previously, and you have been such a good student. I know that what they teach in preschool is far beneath your level, but you need to socialize with other children, and I need to work. Grandpa and Grandma can't look after you every day, so please don't mind."

Lin Jingli was a brilliant child. He was fluent in more than just one language since he had lived overseas his entire life, and he was taught well by Lin Meixing. He was able to solve every task he had been given, so eventually, he started learning the subjects that children that were twelve years old were learning in school.

Only then did he begin to find it challenging, and even though it was a challenge, he still prevailed, and managed to solve the problems.

Lin Meixing herself was a smart woman, but she knew that Lin Jingli had inherited his intellect from his father.

"Mother, I will be a good baby in preschool," Lin Jingli promised. He was quite pleased with going to preschool, as it might give him a bit more freedom, and he quickly approved of it.

"My baby is the best!" Lin Meixing smiled and kissed him on both cheeks before she began bustling about in the kitchen to cook food for them.

Currently, Lin Meixing had enough savings to be able to live for a month or two without a job, but she was aware that she needed a job as soon as possible, so she planned on going to look at preschools the following day.

While Lin Meixing was excited about it, Lin Jingli was not too bothered. Although he wasn't against it, and saw it as a way to gain freedom, he would not be overly excited about going to preschool, considering what he had already learned. At most, he was hoping that the other children were not stupid.
