Wen Xingshen didn't show up for the next day of school, nor did he show up for filming. This was definitely out of the ordinary.
"Big Sister Ziwen, do you know why Xingshen isn't here today?" Su Qingtang asked. She was a bit worried about him. He did have a big death flag looming over his head after all.
Bai Ziwen was shoked, she was so busy up and down that she hadn't really noticed. She scratched her head in awkwardness and shrugged. She was also clueless, ah! Doesn't that mean she was a bad senior?
The director, Qiao Bifan seemed to have been notified of this from before and they simply went ahead and completed a lot of scenes that did not need him. While he was the male lead, he wasn't in too much scenes.
The story was really officially about Qin Shining and Yan Man after all. So, there were a lot of scenes that didn't need the male lead. If Su Qingtang hadn't noticed Wen Xingshen's absence in the first place she would have probably not have noticed how little lines the male lead had. Even with this Su Qingtang felt her respect for Wen Xingshen deepen. Even with so little lines he had managed to use his presence to keep him in people's mind. His acting skills were truly to be looked up to.
The crew also had no clue but Su Qingtang couldn't bother to ask the system, she wasn't too curious and the system was useless when it came to stuff that didn't happen in the plot the first time around.

Lu Yexuan looked at Kim Suho. Kim Suho stared back, cold sweat dripping down his back. He hadn't done anything wrong had he? Surely, his boss couldn't be thinking about firing him, could he.
He really liked his job. His salary was good and his boss wasn't too demanding, even if he wore a straight face everyday as if the world owed him something. He was thriving in his job! Only a fool would give up a pie that fell from the sky.
"Do you have a girlfriend?" Lu Yexuan finally asks.
Kim Suho blanks out. Was this some sort of trick question? This type of thing wasn't in his job description. What if he offended his boss with the wrong answer?
"Uh, no?" Lu Yexuan nods and sighs, returning to his thinking as if he was never the one that had popped such an absurd question out of the blue. His long fingers tapped the tip of the pan as he sunk into deep thought.
Kim Suho swallowed back his nervousness. It seemed he hadn't done anything wrong. "Is something the matter, boss?"
"Su Qingtang." Lu Yexuan replied. "Her birthday. It seems I should prepare a gift."
'Ah. Everything made sense now. A gift… that seems easy.' Kim Suho sighed, he thought it would be something hard. "Simply give her something you think she would like."
"What would she like?"
'Uh… How would I know?' "Why don't you ask Madam Su what she thinks Miss Su would like?" Easy fix.
Lu Yexuan shakes his head he sighs as he reclines into his chair. "Doesn't that defeat the purpose of actually giving a gift?"
Stumped for words Kim Suho goes quiet. I suppose it's so. What else could he say?
"Umm… Why don't you… Why don't you give her a gift of something that reminds you of her." Since he has a high opinion of her surely his gift wouldn't be too bad. Girls seem to like sentimental things like that.
Lu Yexuan thinks for a while before eventually nodding. Kim Suho takes this as a sign that his job there was finished and escuses himself tactfully.
As he leaves, Lu Yexuan turns to look at the city below, a complex look in his eyes.
Ever since he had a talk with his mother about his feelings he started thinking seriously and self reflecting. During this period he hadn't actively sought her out and she being herself had probably forg0tten about his existence.
If concluded that he what he felt towards Su Qingtag was 'interest' then what was he interested in and why would it happen now?
They had never been close during their childhood but he knew of her. He had known of her for years but her existence never seemed to bother him much. She was just that person he knew existed but never active thought about on his own will.
Even though she was his fiancé he had never cared much about her. He wasn't planning on abandoning her but would fulfill his responsibilities when the time came to marry her if she hadn't fallen for anyone at that time. He wasn't very radically traditional in his thoughts. He didn't see himself falling for anyone in the near future so he would fulfil his responsibility.
This thought... He had grown up with this thought but when has it changed?
When she rejected him? Was that when he started… started liking her. No. He wasn't so self-centered. Was he?
He wouldn't even remember her existence if it wasn't that his mother was her mother's friend. Then suddenly she changed. Sure her personality was the same but he knew somehow that she was different. Different how? Her eyes. The thing he was draw to. Yes, that was it. That's what he liked about her. Her eyes. He saw them every time he thought of her.
They were familiar. He seemed to have seen them before.
Cold indifferent. As if nothing can affect them, but still there was something. Something else. Something he felt drawn to.
Sure, she laughs and giggles like a normal girl, but no matter how one acts one can never fake the feeling in one's eyes. The feelings that her eyes lack. They say the eyes are the gateway to the soul. This saying never meant much to her until he saw her. Her as in the current her.
Lu Yexuan chuckles a bit to himself. I say that as if they aren't the same person.
