BEING HONEST

LAUREN felt like his brain was overloading. He couldn't think properly. He wasn't even sure if he heard what he heard correctly. His body just moved on its own and pushed Reas away. Then he stood up and literally jumped away from the other. It's like the action of a small animal ruled by their fight-or-flight instinct.

"You- you— what are you doing?"

Reas put his hands in his pockets and answered nonchalantly, "I'm just clearing up your misunderstanding."

"B-but you said--"

"That I'm interested--"

"Stop!"

Lauren quickly shouted before Reas could finish that. If he repeated that sentence again, he might just go into shock.

He glared at Reas and became even more annoyed because of his expression. Here he was, almost at his wit's end, and the other still looked like what had just happened had nothing to do with him. When, in fact, he was the source of it all!
