(Wilson's POV)
Mia had fallen asleep by the time we reached her house, it was almost midnight and her mom was thankfully asleep already. Carrying her on my back I managed to climb up the tree next to the side wall up to the roof that was just outside of her bedroom window. Carefully switch to carrying her in my arms before climbing through her window. Sitting on her bed all I could do was hold her, she was the only thing holding me back from running back over there to either stop Leon or help him.
Before I knew it I heard the engine of a motorcycle pull up nearby and at two in the morning Leon is climbing through her window in a new set of clothes and with a bag in hand. Looking us over I gesture for him to be quiet before he wakes both her and her mom up, "How is she?"
"She fell asleep on the ride home… Did you-?" I ask before he cuts me off by shaking his head.
"Don't worry the treaty is still intact, he won't be coming anywhere near her again unless he wants to start a war." He smirks, but that wasn't all he was hiding something…
"What's wrong?" watching him, he crosses his arms letting out a sigh.
"When the twins and I went up to their dad's office he was already there doing paperwork. A man his age I would think would have passed down the torch to one of his children but he hasn't yet. All he did was belittle Josh while acting as if Jeremy wasn't even there. Something was off… not just with that but with the twins as well. When Josh tried to speak up his brother practically slashed the right side of his face with his claws.." He stood there pondering over the events.
"Why would Jeremy hurt his brother like that? For as long as I've known them they are usually really close to each other and he is usually protective of his brother. Hell when they were kids Jer took most of the beatings to protect him." This didn't seem like them at all. We sat there for a moment till we heard her mom start walking down the hall. We look at each other for a moment while listening. Quickly but carefully laying Mia under the covers we both hopped out the window leaving it cracked as the footsteps got closer. Opening the door, she was already in her nurses uniform ready to go to work, she leaned in, giving Mia a kiss on the forehead before heading out.
Once the bedroom door was closed we quietly climbed back into the room as we heard the front door lock behind her. I laugh, "Good thing neither of us had fallen asleep."
Leon rolls his eyes before sitting on the bed next to her, "Did she- did she say why- or what had happened between them?"
"No.. But I have a good feeling I already know a bit of what happened.. I just don't know why he would.." trailing off I couldn't think anymore my body was exhausted and in need of a recharge but it ached to be away from her when she's like this.
"Go, I'll be here if you don't get back to the water soon you'll start molting and getting weaker." I hesitated before nodding he was right, I'm no good protecting her if I keep avoiding going back into the water. I wrote her a quick note before I started to head out the window.
Turning around to say as Leon lays down next to her, "No funny business while I'm gone!"
He waves a hand to tell me to get going, I turn and head out laughing a bit before getting into my car to head to the beach. After a bit I finally reached the beach near Leon's family home. Stripping down before I get in the water the sand tickled my toes. How long has it been since my last swim? Time seems to be different on land than it is in the water.
Walking into the water I could already feel my body start to recharge the further I went in. Transforming has always been a different experience between each species but for my kind- or at least for me it's always been exhilarating. I dive in deeper, my body shifting as if on cue it was a bit more painful this time since it had been so long. I watched as my skin changed into various shades of blue and green lined with scales that got bigger the farther down they went towards my tail. I swam around taking in the ocean current.
After a few hours I felt better than before transforming back into my human form once I dried off. Getting dressed I gather some of my things from the house and drive back into town to pick up coffee and breakfast before heading back to Mia's'.
When I pulled up I noticed an odd package on the front porch. I hopped out of the car and noticed it was a bouquet of flowers with the note 'Mia, I'm so sorry… -J' I ripped the note off, shoving it into my pocket to show Leon later, and found the spare key under the flower pot by the door. I could hear them upstairs talking when I opened the door.
(Leon's POV)
This is probably the worst time to do this but Gods does it feel good. Everywhere she touched I could feel the fire inside of me crackle. It felt like she was sending an electrical current through my body with a simple touch! Why don't I remember these moments in my past lives? Are they blocked? Or is it because she hasn't chosen yet? Whatever it is I don't care even if this is just a dream please don't let me wake up!
I could feel my member hardening, wait is this it? Is she choosing me? Gods please let it be me that she chooses, even if she doesn't just let me be by her side. The next thing I knew we were on the beach somewhere- Why does this look familiar? How did we even get here?
