(Katsumi's POV)
" Crack"
A strike of lightning light up the sky as I shot up out of bed from the sudden noise. The thunder was loud enough to make me jolt. The nearing sunrise was blocked out by dark and depressing clouds that dulled any light that was trying to escape through the clouds.
The house was asleep, except for the rain thumping on the roof, or the occasional creak of the floorboards, but other than that, it was silent. The unrhythmic tunes of rain clashing against a tin roof were quite the therapeutic sound for someone that had trouble sleeping, or in my case an insomniac.
The sheets were slightly dis-shelved, from where I tossed and turned in my sleep, I'm not quite sure if I can even call it sleep anymore. More like a rest. I put my slippers on and put on my dressing gown before I headed downstairs to make myself my morning coffee.
The smell of fresh rain lingered as I opened the window in the loungeroom to let some fresh air in after being locked up overnight. The television was playing in the background as I scrolled through my phone's notifications.
Any chances of the rain clearing were long gone, it seems as though it should be set in for a longer period than forecasted, though it doesn't bother me. It gave me a time to think, a sense of calmness.

The next days went by rather quickly, neither Isamu nor Katsumis' interactions had improved from the usual morning greeting, usually directed from Isamu's side. The overcast weather influenced everyone, not the liveliest bunch.
As the storm slowly began to subside, so was the weekday, with a long-awaited weekend approaching. A time for both boys to rest, or so they thought. Either way they both spent the days leading up to the weekend questioning their lives, what they have done and what they should have done.

"If only it was that easily achieved." I found myself mumbling to myself, staring out the window as the Gray clouds slowly part and gave way to light above to shine upon the water.
A ray of light shone upon the house, making its way past my window and warmly lighting up my room. So far luck appears to be on my side, a quiet beginning. He hasn't bothered me, a rather welcome surprise in my honor.
Leftover droplets of rain shone like diamonds once the sun hit it.
'What a fine day.' I thought to myself.
I slipped on a jacket and headed out the front door. Despite my unkept, or some may say messy appearance I went out to have some time to myself, because honestly when will be the next time an opportunity like this will open itself up to me.
And with that thought, I made my way to a place with no actual destination.
(Katsumi's POV)
The familiar sound of rain was gone, sunlight flooding my bedroom while muffled voices coming from the television downstairs could be heard, but only softly.
My dad was sitting on the lounge, reading the Saturday newspaper. I said good morning before I went to sit next to him. I spent the next 15minutes scrolling through the channels trying to find something half decent to watch.
"Looks like we're out of milk." I complained as I closed the fridge door. Dad looked up from his newspaper, the promptly got up.
"Get your coat on, we're going shopping, and yes you have to."
I internally groan at the thought of having to spend my day at a crowded mall when I'd rather be at home by myself. I knew that I wouldn't be able to get out of this. I slipped a hoodie and a pair of jeans with no care for what my face looked like.
I hopped into the car and fastened my seatbelt.
(Isamu's POV)
With whatever remaining change that I had left over from paying off bills I had to fill the fridge with food or at least somewhat full. I entered the mall walked down the various shops and boutiques, cafés, and other specialty stores.
My eyes wandered all around the place, admiring all the clothes in shop fronts. My gaze locked onto this one shop, in particular, an antiques and refurbishments store. An immaculate piece of jewelry locked in a glass display case.
The emeralds glistened in the led lights that were positioned underneath, and on the sides illuminating the gems, only enhancing the beauty of it. It was entranced by it until somebody came walking by, accidentally bumping into my bag.
I turned my head around to see who had bumped into me. A figure not much taller than me, his disguised since he was wearing a purple hoodie, disinterested in the world engulfed in his phone.
"Sorry." A somewhat hoarse voice said, before continuing in his direction. I shrugged it off.
(Katsumi's POV)
The store was relatively quiet due to the fact that it was a weekend. There weren't many customers around, only a few here and there. I kept only walking forward until it hit something. I stopped where I was and mumbled out a sorry then continued my way, catching up to my Dad who was looking for the grocery store.
I sat on one of the nearby seats while my dad went to buy this week's food. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and decided to play some games, waiting for him to return so I can leave this place and go back into the comfort of my own home.
I heard a familiar voice, coming from off in the distance.
(End of POV)
"I didn't do it, please let me go, Sir."
"All you kids are the same, thieving only for your own benefit."
"But I wasn't m- . . ."
The boy was interrupted by the shopkeeper taking his hand and dragging him towards the information desk at the back of the mall.
"HEY! Go get him, NOW!" A boy with a similar appearance was fleeing the scene with his pockets stuffed with various items, one of them in particular, looked familiar. The way it glistened in the sunlight.
The boy was quickly unhanded and the shopkeeper was now chasing after the actual culprit.
(Isamu's POV)
'Wait isn't that the necklace that I was looking at earlier?'
Now that the shopkeeper had finally decided to unhand me I could continue on my walk.
