Ling Xiaochen groaned. "How could he be shy? He is the famous playboy that is on par with the second prince, okay?! His experience must be abundant. A mere peck on the lips couldn't have flustered him to this extent. He must be avoiding me!"

She grabbed Ouyang Xueqing shoulder and shook it hard without any warning. Ouyang Xueqing grimaced and gritted her teeth as she almost puked her guts out. Seriously, did she even realize her strength?!

"What should I do? This must be his way of rejecting me!"

"Calm down!"

"No, I can't!" The corner of Ling Xiaochen's eyes reddened as she really looked like she could burst out into tears anytime soon. "Is it because I'm too young? After all, he is almost three hundred years old while I'm only a fifteen-year old brat!"

"Nonsense." She rebuked. "What age difference? It doesn't apply to us, beasts, okay? Look, my father is older than my mother by 467 years. Don't they still get along well?"

"First of all, how could you kiss him?" Ouyang Xueqing gossiped eagerly. She really wanted to hear this kind of romance ah! After thirteen years of life, she thought that it was time for her to scout for potential partner.

Still, the number one on her list was Ren Yupei.

"You're right!" Ling Xiaochen pulled her hair out of frustration. "What the hell am I thinking?! How could I kiss him?! Am I such a wanton girl?"

Ouyang Xueqing nodded with vigor: "Yes!"

Ling Xiaochen: "…" Are you really my friend?

"Aiyah!" Ouyang Xueqing grabbed her hand as they entered the manor together. "You owed me a story ah! You promised!"

"Alright alright." Ling Xiaochen massaged her temple. Looking at Ouyang Xueqing's sparkling eye, she reflexively wanted to find a place to hide! Why did she feel so embarrassed?!

Well, the reason she kissed An Zhengnan out of the blue had something to do with The Princess though…

It was the morning before the birthday banquet started. Ling Xiaochen had stayed at the General's manor by the Princess' request because they were going to attend the banquet together. Yet, at the last moment, Ling Xiaochen had to go back home because she had forgotten to bring her gifts, so Ouyang Xueqing went to the Palace first.

Before that, she had ordered for An Zhengnan to escort Ling Xiaochen, creating a perfect chance and excuse for them to be together.

Ling Xiaochen didn't mind a bit. She was even ecstatic for being able to walk side by side with him.

It was more than a year ago that she met the Princess and thus made him occasionally met An Zhengnan more and more.

Besides, the Princess had often made some excuses to leave them alone by themselves. Of course, being the bold girl she was, Ling Xiaochen had never waste such a good opportunity.

She had invited him for a walk around the Capital, eating dinner together, shopping together, she had done everything that she could think of to make him spend more time with her.

Yet, this man's behavior had always been perfunctory.

He had accompanied her just because of Ouyang Xueqing's request.

Nothing more.

But then, Ling Xiaochen was satisfied that they could spend time together.

The more they hang out with each other, the more they talked, and Ling Xiaochen's chance to capture his heart must be greater, right?

Ling Xiaochen had thought that she could capture his heart someday if she kept trying. Yet, she admitted that she had been so naïve.

It wasn't until they went shopping together one day that Ling Xiaochen realized the man's hidden feelings. She was pulling on the corner of An Zhengnan's sleeve as she always did and comment on every cute and interesting thing with a bubbly and bright smile on her face.

They stopped at the stall where they found ice sugar candy with many flavors and colors. It was such a cute little snack with many forms such as rabbit, cat, little bear, and they came in many colors like the rainbow.

"So cute!" Ling Xiaochen squealed. She then began to pick some as it seemed delicious.

Unexpectedly, the always quiet and polite An Zhengnan glanced over with a curious look. He asked the stall owner as he pointed at a red little rabbit. "What kind of flavor is it?"

"Young Master, that is strawberry flavor. This is melon, orange, apple." The stall owner started to promote his goods enthusiastically as he saw that the couple's clothing seemed expensive. He had recognized the man though. He was An Zhengnan ah! The Emperor's direct subordinate and The Princess' bodyguard!

His reputation as a playboy had been spread wild throughout the mainland so it didn't seem strange for him at all to be seen having a date with a girl.

Ling Xiaochen: "Do you want to buy it?"

An Zhengnan nodded without raising his head. Even then, his tall figure was towering and Ling Xiaochen had to crane her neck just to look at him. He was dressed sloppily as usual and his aura was lazy and languid, yet her sharp pointed eyes and his bony and calloused finger was so manly that Ling Xiaochen couldn't help but swooned.

She had seen his beast form a few times. He was a huge, hot-blooded and fierce black panther with blood red eyes that was exploding with strength and masculinity…

Damn it, she was wrong ah! It wasn't An Zhengnan but her that would fall deeper and deeper for him!

Even a mere sight of his profile was enough to make her heart palpitating like crazy. His strand of hair half covering his cheek, his thin and pale pursed lips, his chiseled jaw, his slightly bobbing Adam's apple, his healthy olive tan skin…

Ling Xiaochen was head over heels for him!

"Then, I will take two of the rabbits."

Ling Xiaochen snapped back from her fangirling as she blinked in confusion. "Do you like strawberry that much?" She didn't know that. Ouyang Xueqing had never told her either.
