CHAPTER 66

THE ORCHESTRA DID NOT ONLY LOOK GOOD BUT ALSO PLAYED THE PIECE BEAUTIFULLY. The cathedral was dressed in the most exquisite decoration anyone has ever known. Even the priest could relate on how much it was his very first time to see such a decoration.

Rumours where all over that they had an Indian wedding planner booked for the same. He and his team were the ones that worked the magic in this gigantic church building.

I turned to the altar and wow....the cake magnificent. It was also another fragment that left everyone mouth agape after looking at it. It was a sculptor of the two lovebirds that came to tie their knot. A million colours blended together making a sight more beautiful than the rainbow itself. What a wedding to remember it was going to be.

Along with the other girls, I was in the west wing of the church where final touches of Kelly's make up were being done.

Her mother had walked out to pick a phone call and her dad was the only one around. I could see the joy on her face as she anticipated seeing Sven.

I couldn't wait for my own wedding.

Kelly's dress was a satin and lace gown, designed by Sarah Burton, the creative director of Alexander McQueen. It was made by the wardrobe department at MGM and is considered one of the most beautiful wedding dresses of all time.

With rose point lace, it was a perfect balance between tradition and modernity. With an ivory satin and appliquéd lace bodice, lace long-sleeves, a low neckline and a full skirt, Kelly's gown was just unspeakable.

A Cathedral train extended six to seven-and-half feet from the waistline and had a dramatic feel added to it as it trailed about behind the bride.

Adding more beauty were the sequin beaded heart-shaped paillette discs placed at intervals and couldn't stop screaming 'queen of the world'

"Dad...am a little nervous", Kelly leaned on her fathers hand and tried to prevent the anxious tears from falling off. He turned to her face and carefully, dried her eyes keeping in mind that he might mess her make up.

"We've been waiting for this day for so long...", he began in a tone that was meant to calm her nerves down and to the look of things it was working.

"I know dad....I know....and am so happy....", she spoke back to him but paused. He noticed and even though he was no confessor, he could read her mind. The pain, terror and the flames had engulfed her once more. The pre-wedding jitters and flashbacks became so pure in her eyes. So these things were real.

"Don't think about anything now my love. Do yourself a favour and be happy. It's your wedding day", he embarrassed the young lady and he hoped that she understood. Engulfed in the fatherly love. She understood exactly what he said and her soul was led to peace.

"I love you dad",she muttered and her soul was pleased to know that he felt the same way and in much abundance for her. He broke the moment and with just once glance he made her laugh. Fathers have an inherent ability that penetrates to the core of their daughters more than mothers do. They enlighten and highlight authenticity of love in a way that no one else can. And no one else will.

I just wished I knew who or where my father was...

My mother was so conservative and took the secret with her.

I looked outside so let the breeze dry my eyes and alas, the entire cathedral was surrounded by a huge crowd of people. They looked like a swam of bees surrounding the church.

Reporters, correspondents, and broadcast news analysts, working for various for newspapers, websites, or periodical publishers or in television or radio broadcasting were present.

Talk of Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Harpers Bazaar and Oyster representatives, everywhere like dispersed daisy petals. I turned to the altar and saw various international news channel publishers, HBO, Fox and Fox News, AMC, FX & USA. They were shooting the entire program live on their channels and almost everyone in the world was watching.

I quickly went online and all I could see was Kelly and Sven's wedding.

How did they even get a glimpse of her dress ?

The publicity was just too much I couldn't believe it. The news had already hit a bomb and the Los Angeles-based celebrity news website TMZ was key at planting it. They were also showcasing the entire function on their website live.

This was certainly the wedding of the century.

"Ready?", he asked while offering her his hand. I wiped my tears and stood firm looking at them.

"Yes daddy....", she replied and put her arm around his.

The first bell rang followed by another. They were to serve as a deadening factor for the incoming of a bride.

I was happy to know that I'd sit so close to Kelly. She didn't know me well but she trusted me to keep me so close to her.

Ciara was standing next to Ayesha who was in between us.

She looked beautiful in her peach, nude tulle veil lace layer dreamy dress. The spaghetti straps perfectly balance comfortablility, elegance and the appeal of having your décolletage and shoulders open and uncovered. She looked awesome.

Her make up was all golds and tans making a powerful comeback with her dress.

She was killing it like it was her wedding. I assessed her head to toe and didn't realise I was looking too much.

"Pss. Eleanor!" Ayesha pulled the hem of my dress and I turned to her with intense force.

She whispered and I didn't get what she said the first time, Then I read her lips and she saw her say something like 'sit down'?? Oh, sit down...

I quickly looked around and realised everyone was sitting down except from me.

I shoved my body down and took a deep breath.

"Thank you...." I whispered back.

"It's not everyday you see such magnificence...." she teased and chuckled.

"Definitely not everyday...." I pursed my lips in embarrassment.

"The Wikimedia Foundation reported nearly a million visitors to Kelly's wedding records within the past hour..." Ayesha whispered.

"Oh wow..." I gasped and held my mouth.

"Probably the most visitors in a one-hour period to any article in Wikipedia's history...." I added and she nodded.

Never had there been and ever won't there be an elegant wedding like this.

Looking at them, all the magical moments, the place, the beauty; it just made me imagine my own.
