202: How are you in Buenos?

WE LEFT THE SHOP AND I FELT RELEAVED TO BE OUTSIDE. It was stuffy and dark inside that I was beginning to suffocate. With haters everywhere, I was completely undone. Fortunately, DJ came to my rescue through Jake Lew and put them all to place.

My life was really not going to be the same. Things outside here had changed and to imagine that I would fight with someone over a shoe was really a shock. I was the one that always got first class things without even raising so much as a finger but here I was tensing all my muscles just to get a shoe. Ridiculous.

I got into the car and Sharyn got in after me; taking the seat next to mine.

"Off we go...." She motioned to the driver and he immediately started the engine. I raised my window and leaned on it, looking outside and studying everything that was going on. The glasses were made from a tinted material but I could still see through clearly.

People moving in different directions, to and fro, running errands. Some were out for shopping, some window shopping and some probably to pay up utility bills. All in all, everyone was busy. Busy with their lives after ruining mine. They were smiling, giggling and laughing, moving on as though nothing had happened and here I was still drenching in my pain despite it being a year ago when Adam and I broke up.

I still remembered every single bit of it from the scene in the attic to when I hallucinated about murdering Iridessa.

I blinked and a tear dropped down my eyes. I had changed. How I could let my mind brew such a thought, I had no idea yet here I was witnessing every second of my life that I actually killed someone in my head and all because of a man. All because of a man....

"Ma'am...." Sharyn beckoned me and I shivered, looking at her with fright.

"You startled me....." I grimaced and took a deep breath.

"I sincerely apologize ma'am, it was unintended. I meant to tell you that your phone is ringing. It...it might be an important call...." She jumped through the words and I sat upright opening my clutch. I got my phone and looking at the caller ID, I wasn't sure on what emotion to attach to it all.

"Miranda...." I gasped. I didn't tell her I had left Europe after notifying her that I'd be staying there for three months. She would surely be surprised and I wasn't ready to be giving reasons to why I was suddenly in Buenos.

"The most famous girl in the planet. Howdy..." I sensed a hint of sarcasm in her tone and immediately steadied myself in the seat.

"What are you on about now....???" I shrugged and rolled my eyes surprised by her lack of formality.

"So you didn't see it? And I didn't know until now that Luxembourg city had shops under the brand 'Oscar De La Renta'...." I pursued my lips trying to fix the dots.

She thought I was in Europe and how did she know about Oscar De La Renta? That was the shop I was just coming from. How did she know I was there?

"What do you mean? See what???" I asked curiously.

"You really have let yourself go Eleanor....you really have....you're the hot current hitting the world and you don't even know it..."

"Stop speaking in circles and just tell me the whole thing, will you?"

"ELEANOR'S COMEBACK FROM OBSCURITY..... The largest glossy magazine website in New York just released in the morning and has been made top post in a few minutes..... Girl you're trending. Drizella Paperman...should know her place....I heard she had a shop closed last month after the newest designer shoe was bought off by someone else and not her. She actually had the nerve to sue the manager...." Miranda talked and I rubbed my mouth.

How on earth did everything get out so fast? Am sure I didn't see anyone from the media over there but then who would in so much as a second publicise the entire story?

"Um....you know me, I don't like people telling me my place when they don't know theirs..." I shrugged and laughed as the car came to an abrupt halt. I shrieked and held into the chair in front of me. The sound of tires, squeaking as they burnt against the tarmac road echoed all over the place followed by an awfully grey fume which reeked of smoke like something was burning. Fortunately, I had my seatbelt on and it was able to pull me back to safety on the chair.

"What was that???" Sharyn asked the driver outraged. She looked at me and tried to check if I was fine. Remembering DJ's warning, am sure she was scared of her very own words of paying with her life if I dare face any setback.

"Apologies ma'am....it's my fault...." He showed his reverence and I looked at Sharyn.

"Are you alright ma'am? Are you hurt at all? That was bloody close...something might have happened to you..." She sighed and unfastened my seatbelt for me.

"We've arrived. I'll have to call the doctor for a check up. There might be damage underneath..... " she reported all anxious like a desparate traumatized nurse. "After you...."

I got out of the car and took a deep breath. For a second I thought my heart was going to burst of fear but I calmed down and maintained my calmness.

"Eleanor....are you there? Eleanor?? Hello???" Miranda's voice echoed through and I quickly brought the phone to my ear.

"Yeah am still here...." I answered taking the route that lead to the house.

"What was that ? What happened? And who's calling you ma'am? Oh...are you with someone?? Philippe?? Should I hang up??" Six questions at onced bounced off her mouth like fiery darts in flaming volleys.

"No don't hang up....it's fine. The driver just pulled through an emergency break....." I reported dusting my legs. "But am fine...."

"You sure?"

"Yes I am...am fine...." I assured her. She was acting like Sharyn all of a sudden. I turned to look at her and saw her carry my bags to the house.

"Okay...alright...so Eleanor...I was wondering something..."

"What is that???" I asked, walking up the stairs to the main entrance.

"How is Drizella in Europe all of a sudden? Or should I say, how are you in Buenos Aires, Argentina?? Weren't you just in Europe? When did you leave? Why did you suddenly leave? You never even told me how the christening went?? Please tell me you're safe and am curious..." She fired away another row of bulleting questions and I knew this was it.

After meeting Jeannine at the airport, I actually thought it would be all over the news that I had arrived in Buenos and everyone would know if it in a blink. Turns out those threats really scared them off and no one dared to step forward and challenge me.

Hearing Miranda ask about it now, I realised DJ was some influencial man after all. All those reporters really sat on their hands after two words from his spokesperson. He was somebody and maybe he really was Philippe's friend after all.

"Am in Buenos...I arrived this morning...."
