Memories

After analyzing all the information he got from William, Enzo decided he would join the Sacred League when he gets stronger. He was sure he would be able to get selected given his power and experience in fighting.

"So when does the Sacred League organize the martial arts competition?" Enzo asked.

"Every three years. The next one would be held two years later. You have plenty of time. Maybe you can reach Mystic Level Peak Stage or even Earth Level in two years. Haha, it's good to have a connection with a future Earth Division warrior." William laughed blazingly.

Enzo laughed too.

"Young man, it's getting late, you should probably go home now," William said.

Enzo nodded.

"By the way, Mr. William, why do you come here and sit alone?" Enzo asked.

William was about to leave with his bodyguards when he heard Enzo's question. He turned around and smiled. "I like the breeze which flows here. It feels very spiritual here. Whenever I feel down, I come here and sit, trying to clear my mind. This place has given me a lot of insights into things that troubled me. But today it's different. It doesn't feel the same way as before. It's like something has changed here."

William felt low-spirited when he realized this place might not be the same as before.

'Could it have been because of the Spiritweed Grass that made it feel spiritual here? And because I took away the grass, it doesn't feel the same to Mr. William.' Enzo smiled bitterly while thinking this. The grass was very important to him. He decided he would help set up a spirit gathering formation in the future for William.

"Young man, visit my place someday, I would love to have tea with you and discuss martial arts," William suggested.

"Sure I would love to."

William took out a golden card and gave it to Enzo

"It has my number and address. Call me whenever you wish to visit."

Enzo nodded.

Then he turned around and left for his home.

After reaching his apartment, he leaped on his bed and fell asleep.

Next Morning,

At around 10 o clock, Enzo opened his eyes and got up. He immediately did his daily chores and sat for cultivation.

Just as he was about to start, his sight fell on the broken piece of his sword. He grabbed it and closed his eyes in meditation.

What he didn't notice was that strange light was emitted from the piece of his sword which entered his body.

After sometime Enzo opened his eyes and jumped.

'Now I get it.'

He was thrilled.

'So while I was dying in my previous life, I stored my soul in my sword but due to unknown reasons, my sword was broken into pieces. So that is why I have little memory of my past life. Once I piece together all the parts of my sword I will regain all of my memories as well as my soul. '

He had regained some memory which included his fighting experience, magical spells, medical knowledge, and alchemy. He could only remember the technical aspects of cultivation. He still had no memory of his family, friends of his previous life.

'But why did it happen this time and not the last time when I held this piece. The only difference I could think of is, that now I am at Ki Gathering Level 3 while last time I was still a normal human being. Does that mean even if I get another piece of my sword, it would be useless unless I reach a specific level of my cultivation? This would be troublesome.'

Enzo was troubled. He did not know how he would increase his cultivation level with negligible Ki Energy around him. Unless he got another spirit item like the Spiritweed Grass, it would take him years to even reach Ki Gathering Level 4 and improve his 'Stone Body' to 'Metal Body'.

'I have nothing to do now. I can't sit in my room and cultivate for years just to reach level 4.' Enzo felt dejected.

'Now that I have nothing do, I can try to solve the death of the previous Enzo and get justice for him.'

Deciding this, Enzo sat down and started going through the memories he received from the previous Enzo. He wanted to know everything he can about this city, this world, and everything the previous Enzo knew about.

'So he was a student of Fifth National High School and had graduated this year. But he could not qualify the entrance exam for colleges. All his classmates had gotten into college. His only friend Ben had also joined a college in the capital city. Only he was left behind. His adoptive mother died in a car accident but her body was never found. That's strange how could the body was never found if she was in a car accident unless someone took her body away. I will have to look into this too. He was visiting the waterfall in the Blackrock Forest when he was killed. He did not know the identity of his killers but he saw they were all wearing jackets with a green snake at the back.'

'Sigh, what a hard life this guy had. I promise you Enzo, now that I am using your body, I will make sure your name would be known all around the world.'

'Let's get back to the killers. Since they were all wearing the same thing they must be from some gang. If I can get this gang, I can catch the killers. I will have to ask the old man about the gangs in this city. And also that old man is from the Bane family. According to Enzo's memories, the Bane family is one of the most powerful families in the city. The others are the Longs, the Wus, the Blacks, and the Stokers.'

'And I asked the housemaster of the Bane family to have a spar with me. Good thing he was not an egoistic person, otherwise, I would have to look out for the Banes too.' Enzo facepalmed himself.
