Love is all around.....

Waiting for the first trip bound to Cebu City in the North Terminal in their town in Daanbantayan 25th of October 2021 Monday 5:52 am. It has been ages ago since she traveled to the city although she is not traveling alone she is more anxious now than before since she will be going there to work and will not be able to come back home in a few days maybe weeks. Seated at the 3rd column 3rd row on the left side of the driver, she took the window seat, and beside her was Jacob and her mother Elizabeth with Michael on her lap. Her parents' house is only 1 kilometer away from theirs but her mother insisted on tagging along with her on the bus even if they will just get off in a few minutes. Emily with the other 9 recruits was already settled on the bus and they are just waiting for the driver and the bus inspector. Theo did not see her out when she left their house and she did not bother to wake up her older children in case their pleading will cause her to change her mind. Clink clink clink. The bus inspector hits the bar handle of the door that signals the bus is now departing. After a few minutes, her mother together with Jacob and Michael got off the bus and she is now seated alone. Since they took the first trip, the sun is already up although Amor is now wide awake for the whole trip she did not take notice of where they at during the travel. With a speed of 50-60kph, Amor did not even budge as the bus traveled down the cemented sometimes rugged zigzag road. After an hour of travel, the bus stopped in Borbon for a 15-minute break but Amor did not get off to eat not even at the next bus stop in Carmen.

Emily took notice that Amor has not taken a break since they left so she approached her, "Amor we will have our last stop in Lilo-an you'd better take it because right after we arrive in the terminal we will go straight to our boss's residence and we may not be able to have a decent rest until everyone will be interviewed and there are 10 applicants including you." Amor only nodded in response. True enough Amor got off in Lilo-an but she didn't have the appetite to eat, she's torn between making or breaking the interview. Due to the heavy traffic starting from Consolacion it took them 5 hours to reach the city, and when they got off in the north terminal Emily gathered all 10 of them in the corner.

She took her phone and contacted someone, "Hello, Jack this is Emily. We just arrived, what time are you going to pick us up?" waiting for a response. "Ah, I see. We are in the right corner of the main entrance, where are you? Oh, I think I see you," Emily was waving her hand toward a black van. In a minute or 2, the van stopped in front of them and Emily ushered all of them to get inside, "Hurry, we can't stay here for long."

"Are they your new recruits Emily?" asked Jack.

"Yeah," she answered.

"How many of them do you think the Kim's will hire today?"

Emily let out a sigh, "I'm almost on the verge of giving up you know? If they will still ask for another batch of people for the same positions I will really quit this time or might as well look for recruits in other places."

"Well, that's what you said last month and the month before that hahaha," teased Jack the chartered driver.

"Huh?" chuckled Emily.

Amor then remembered to contact Evelyn so she immediately looked for her phone in her bag and took it out. "Hello Evelyn....." she hurriedly greeted her as soon as she answered the phone.

"Hello, Amor. Is the interview done?"

"We just arrived in the city," chuckled Amor. "But we are now on our way to our boss's residence, I will call you again once I am done with the interview. How are the kids? How is Theo??"

"The kids are fine, they were already awake when I went to your house to bring breakfast. I made sure they ate before they went to school, as for Theo he is probably awake by now but he was still asleep when I went there. I can go back there later once the kids are back from school so you can talk to them."

"It's okay Evelyn, thank you for checking on them. I will probably talk to them tomorrow I will just send you a message."

"Sure."

"I'll hang up now, bye."

"Bye."

After hanging up, Emily announced they are now about to enter the condominium premises. It is not as intimidating as the other buildings around the city but for Amor who is used to seeing bungalows in her community, the mid-rise condominium is already intimidating her.

Upon entering the gate the guard asked the driver which building, "Building 10, boss," replied Jack.

"How many buildings are there then?" thought Amor.

Then Jack parked the van beside Building 10 and Emily gave an announcement, "So, we are here now. I will go up first and hand your applications to our boss, I will call you if it is your turn to be interviewed. The rest can stay here while waiting for their turn." Then Emily immediately got off and Amor watched her as she went up the stairs. Now that the waiting game has started, Amor regretted not buying any food nor drinks when she got off in Lilo-an. Checking the surroundings there seems to be no store nearby except the ones she noticed outside the condominium premises.

Out of desperation, she turned to Jack for help, "Uhm, Jack excuse me."

"Yes?" answered the startled Jack.

"Is there somewhere nearby where we can buy snacks here?" shyly asked Amor.

"Ah, yes. Right here in building 10, first-floor unit 105. You can stay there and eat, just bring your phone with you in case Emily will call."

"Ah, good thanks. I'll come back right away then," happily answered Amor.

"Sure, take your time."

Amor hurriedly got off the van and went inside the building and found out that the doors are labeled according to their unit numbers and scanned for unit 105. It did not take her long to find the store and found out that it is a mini cafeteria. "Wow, at least I can eat a decent meal before the interview," she thought. There were 5 tables all good for 2, 2 tables on each side and 1 table in the middle. Although it is already noontime, she noticed that the cafeteria is not busy. As she went inside, she took notice of a man occupying the left side table in the corner. He was sitting on the chair leaning against the wall staring at the floor with his arms folded and his legs crossed. He does not look like a customer so Amor thought he might be the owner. "Excuse me, sir, are you still open? Can I eat here??" she asked. The man did not budge but only lifted his gaze toward her with no expression at all. It was then that Amor realized the man had clear, smooth, and fair skin. His body shape appears rather muscular and wears a sharply stylish cut outfit. With a high nose along with small and slender facial features, she can tell he is not Filipino and although she only sees them on television the looks of the man fit that of a hero straight from K-drama.

With this vision in front of her, something seems to come alive from within her.
