"Uhm..... Mr. Kim?"
"Good."
"Ah..... thank you, Mr. Kim."
"Have you contacted the agent of the condominium in Mabolo?"
"Oh..... I am about to contact them now Mr. Kim."
"We'll leave in a couple of hours," Do Yun gestured her to leave thus she stood up immediately and closed the sliding door behind her.
After a couple of hours, standing outside Do Yun's door Amor leaned her right ear to check if he is ready to leave but could not hear anything. "Is he still busy?" she asked herself. Pressing her lips, she lightly knocked thrice and slowly opened the sliding door, without waiting for an invitation she stepped inside and closed the door.
"Are we about to leave now?" Do Yun asked.
"Uhm..... ready if you are Mr. Kim."
Do Yun then came out of the room and headed out of the office.
Do Yun seems to be happy with the building features:
Retail podium
Hotel-Inspired Grand Lobby
Four High-speed Elevators with Key Card Access
CCTV on selected Common Areas
Provision for Cable TV, Telephone, Data & CATV connections
Fire Detection and Alarm System
100% Standby Power Generator (common areas and residential units)
He was also satisfied with the central amenities:
Play area
Swimming Pool
Gym & Function Halls
Multi-purpose Sports Area.
Landscaped Gardens
Retail Shops
Sky plaza
He then reserved 2 2 bedroom units with 100 square meters of the area each on the second floor.
"We will pay spot cash on or before 30 days starting today," Do Yun told the agent of the condominium.
"Ah..... sure Mr. Kim and for that, you are entitled to an 8% discount," said the agent.
Do Yun then headed to the elevator thus Amor hurriedly followed.
The road they are traveling now seems not familiar to Amor, "Maybe this is another route on the way to the office," she thought. But Jack parked beside a Filipino restaurant, "Maybe he will have lunch with his family here," she told herself.
Jack got out from the driver's seat to open the rear door for Do Yun and as soon as he got out he knocked on the front passenger seat's window. He was already walking toward the entrance of the restaurant when Amor was able to catch up with him.
"This place is known for seafood delicacies."
"Oh..... okay," the clueless Amor hurriedly followed Do Yun inside the restaurant.
"People say this place is also known for great service, great food, interior, great place, good food, and ambiance."
This is the first casual Filipino restaurant that Amor has ever been to. Do Yun is occupying the left side table in the corner, a familiar scene for Amor that made her smile the only difference is she may need to get used to not seeing him up close as early as now. She took notice that the table is good for 2 persons only.
"Does this bother you?" Do Yun asked.
"Huh?" Amor's startled response. "Why is he always right when he guesses what's on my mind?", she thought.
"This is my thank you lunch for you."
"Uhm..... I always try my best Mr. Kim," Amor politely smiled. "More like the last lunch," she told herself.
Do Yun gave the menu to Amor, "This is a Filipino restaurant, surprise me."
"Ah.....," she gently smiled.
"This is my first time here, I hope the cook will not disappoint me," Do Yun sneered.
"Crab relleno 3 pieces Php120?!?!?!?!?!" Amor read the menu out loud.
"There's no need to shout, I can hear you. Just choose the food, never mind the price."
"Oh..... it's difficult not to miss the price, Mr. Kim. If you want a place known for seafood delicacies I'd rather bring you to our place but of course that would take 1-2 hours travel time."
"Next time."
"Uhm..... yes next time. Crab relleno 3 pieces, Chilli chicken fillet with herb, Tuna bicol express, Pork BBQ 2 pieces, Crispy bacasi, Fried pancit canton, Caldereta kanding 2 pieces and 2 cups of rice, will that do?"
"I'm not familiar with Filipino food but I heard it's good, so yes that will do."
While waiting for their orders, Amor broke the deafening silence between them.
"Ah..... Mr. Kim if I may ask are you staying here for good?"
"Not really, we just expanded and investors have started to put their trust in our company it's too soon to leave it to the department heads for now. Ae Cha disagrees with me but I think she just misses home, we have not had any vacation for almost 3 years now. Fortunately unfortunately for her, the chairman agrees with me so we'll need to extend our stay here for the next 3 years but we may go back to Korea next year for a short vacation. That's the reason why as early as now I need to finalize our transfer starting with the location so that when we come back from Korea that is where we will be staying until further notice. But we have not finalized who will be the school companions of our children, we initially planned to hire school guardians but I'm looking at the possibility of taking in 2 scholars instead of around their age as their school companions that's why I needed a bigger space for the quarters also."
"Here are your orders, Sir Maam," the waiter interfered.
After the waiter left, Amor handed Do Yun a pair of utensils; "Oh..... I see, " she said.
"Try this Mr. Kim, rellenong alimasag is the Filipino version of stuffed crabs."
"Hhhhhmmmm, the crab meat is sauteed along with some vegetables, spices, and seasonings not bad."
"The chili chicken fillet with herb should not be new to you Mr. Kim, this is just a simple and tasty chicken recipe where the chicken is rubbed in a wonderful blend of savory spices and then topped with a sauce of fresh parsley and mint. Earlier today, I craved for something flavorful and spicy; something cooked in coconut milk that's why I chose tuna bicol express."
"Hhhhhmmmm the main spice being used here in chili chicken fillet with the herb is smoked paprika, which is a spice made from dried bell peppers that give color and taste to dishes and they also decided to make bicol express from tuna belly- tuna version; good enough."
"Another familiar food for you Mr. Kim is of course pork barbecue, but what Filipino-style pork BBQ is all about is it is in bamboo skewers. The bakasi (saltwater eel) by the way thrives abundantly in the town of Cordova, Mactan Island, a 45-minute drive from the city of Cebu. Specifically, in Buwagsong, Cordova, a local fishing community; the bakasi is a prized catch. The Crispy bacasi or eels are deep-fried to make it crunchy and appealing to picky eaters. Fishermen actually use a bantak, an eel trap fashioned from woven bamboo that looks like a small vase with a neck to catch them. This pancit canton has a different sauce base, with the combination of oyster sauce and vegetables offering a unique taste."
"Hhhhhmmmm I see it is composed of thinly sliced pork pieces that are marinated in a special mixture of seasonings and spices. I'd better dip the fried eel in vinegar and soy sauce with lots of chilies then."
"My favorite is kalderetang kambing which is actually goat meat stewed in tomato sauce."
"Hhhhhmmmm the meat has been tenderized with sautéed garlic, onions, and tomatoes then stewed in tomato sauce."
"Will he also like the food if I will cook it for him?" she thought.
Every time she sees him, she dies a little more.
