Frost Cavern

"Haha! I guess you have to buy me a jacket now, huh?" I called out, happy at Luca's victory. As I spoke, Luca lost his mega form and looked as if he was about to collapse.

"Woah there, bud. Don't over exert yourself," I said, bringing him back to his ball.

"Alright, Black, let's go get you a jacket," Mint said, bringing back their Empoleon. We left the arena to heal our pokemon at the Center next door before heading to a clothing store nearby. Inside, two things caught my eye. One was a black hoodie, and the design on it was a wave with a purple hue, with a yellow sunset behind it. The sky of the scene was pink, and the words on it were in my old world's language of Japanese. What it said was this:

Endlessly, I wait for freedom.

For some reason, I gravitated towards the hoodie. And it just so happened that the one I picked up was my size. And close to it, I saw a matching face mask. So naturally, I picked them up and went to find Mint to make them pay for the stuff I had picked up.

"That's it? You sure?" they said as soon as I found them.

"Yeah. I'll be okay with these," I said.

"Alright then." After paying for the hoodie and the mask, I put on the hoodie to find that it fit absolutely perfectly. As if it were a glove. And wearing it, I felt the same way as I did when I bought my skateboard, as if it were something I was just meant to have.

"So Mint, why did you say you came here?" I asked.

"Well, I originally came just to have a peaceful time, but after you gave me the best battle I've had in a while, I feel like training so I can beat you in the League! So I'm going to the Frost Cavern to train against some Ice-types." The name Frost Cavern rang a bell in my brain. Wasn't some minor story supposed to happen there? I guess I should be there for it.

"Mind if I come with you? It's not like I'm doing anything else," I asked.

"Sure! It'd be fun to have some company," Mint responded.

We walked out of the town to the foot of the mountain, where there was a dark entrance. Once we walked inside, there was an insane amount of cold, pure energy in here. Maybe that minor story event wouldn't be as minor as I thought. As we continued adventuring through the cave, I trained Doomsday while Mint trained Empoleon. And as we got deeper and deeper in, the cold grew and grew. It was a little unsettling. Thankfully, we had Doomsday to keep us extra warm. But soon enough, we got to the final chamber of the Frost Cavern, where we saw a horrendous sight.

It was a woman in a bright red-orange outfit, with blue hair, whipping an Abomasnow. And I was already pissed.

"You stop right the fuck now! What the hell do you think you're doing, huh?!" I yelled, startling her.

"Woah, Black, don't get so worked up. Chill," Mint said.

"Chill? You want me to chill?! She is whipping an innocent pokemon, and you want me to chill?! Doomsday, stop her immediately!" I yelled.

{Understood."}

"No, Doomsday, don't! Empoleon, stop him!" Doomsday got in a stance to lunge at the blue haired lady, but Empoleon smacked Doomsday to stop him from attacking.

"You two stand back and calm down. I'll take care of this," Mint said.

"Ugh, fine."

"Well, well, well, what do we have here? Little lady, I don't think you can beat me, Bryony, the Team Flare admin. So do yourself a favor and leave me be," the lady said.

"Don't call me little lady. Empoleon, get ready to battle," Mint said, annoyed.

"Fine then. I guess I can honor your wish. Houndoom, come on out!" Bryony said.

It was over in a few seconds. From what I could see, it looked like Empoleon dashed across the den and smacked the shit out of Houndoom, launching it into the left wall.

"Now get out of here before I do the same to you," Mint said.

"Gah! You're strong! I'll be back, you wench!" Bryony called back her pokemon and ran out of the cave. Then suddenly, we heard a roar from very close by. It was the Abomasnow!

{Thank you! You saved me.} Abomasnow said.

"You're welcome. But we should get going," Mint said. Wait a sec.

"You can understand pokemon too?" I asked, curious.

"Yeah, can you?"

"Yeah! But uh, I don't think our business is done here just yet." I pointed back to the Abomasnow.

{Your friend is right. If I may, I'd like to join you on your journey.} Abomasnow said.

"Really? Sure!" Mint pulled out a pokeball, tossed it, and the Abomasnow was caught.
