In an outskirt place, there was a city called Argon. It was also a city known as the outlaw city, forsaken by all Kings in the kingdom and thus deprived of their blessings. The citizens of this city were full of mercenaries and criminals. For them, were called the untouchables because they were protected by the influential leader. Black market businesses and slavery were the major pursuits of this city and the perpetrators consisted of corrupted nobles. That was the reason their city fell into a state of anarchy and was untouchable by the other cities.
The night seemed to be cloudy as if sooner or later rain may come. The wall at the city's border was unclearly seen by the eyes because there was no sight of moonlight or stars to illuminate it. Even the houses did not give light to the surrounding area proving that the residents there had a good night's sleep. The only exception was one bar not far from there which was still operating.
The bar's door was widely open. The sounds in the bar suddenly fell silent. The people started watching at the door. There were two suspicious men in a cloak who walked into the bar. They started watching both of them suspiciously. The atmosphere of that place became tense and made both of the men cautiously stop at the middle of the bar. Then, one big man started to get closer to those men and touched the shoulder of one of the suspicious men.
Suddenly, one of the suspicious men deflected his hand out of defence and caused the big man's hand to twist which made him fell down. After that incident occurred, it drew the attention of the surrounding people in which they started drawing their weapons against the suspicious men. The man who acted out of self-defense started to prepare his weapon as well but he was blocked by his partner.
"What the heck, man." The big man groaned out of pain. "You attacked me." The man who acted out of self-defense responded. "I just want to show you that sign." He pointed to where the sign was placed. Then both of them looked at the sign he was pointing at. "Cloaks or masks are not al…lowed." The men tried to read from a distance. The both of them placed their hands up to signify peace and proceeded to slowly take off their cloak. It was Leon and Alan.
All of the people in the bar started to calm down except for a few. Even though no harm was caused by the commotion, their eyes still looked tense. Several men tried to lift that big man to the side. The bar remained silent until the sound of footsteps echoed the bar. "Don't worry mate, they are my customers." Said a woman clad in a dark blue gown that walked down the stairs. She walked towards them while puffing a cigarette. The bars regained their noisiness and fun atmosphere after the customers heard that woman walked into the crowd.
"It's been a long time, Leon." She greeted them while extending them her right hand. "I feel the same, Miss Gudnight." He kissed her hands gently. "Well, who is this young savage boy that defeated my man?" She looked cautiously. "I am Al…" Leon suddenly scoffed to Alan. "My name is Eric." He started to kiss her hand but she pulled her hand back before he could.
"I need your…." She interrupted Leon's words and proceeded to seduce him by placing her fingers to his lips. She slowly moved her fingers down from his upper chest to his lower body. After that, she faced him very closely. "I know why you came here, baby." She inhaled her bud of cigarette and exhaled the smoke to him gently. "Come, I'll show you the way." She turned and led the walk. The both of them started to follow her but another big man appeared to stop Alan from following her.
"What is the meaning of this?" Leon stopped after he saw what happened to Alan. "It seems you do not understand, do you?" She stopped and turn back to face Leon. "I invited A MAN with business only." She seemed to be talking to Leon but her eyes stared at Alan. "No, I have a right; if you do not allow me then Leon will stay." Leon stood tall in an attempt to convince her. "Eric!" Leon warned Alan.
She walked slowly towards Alan. She gave him a smile and suddenly pointed a small gun that she kept in her chest area beneath her clothes. After that, her expression changed from sweet to an expression that showed her killing intent, as if she had a split personality. Alan felt like he made the wrong decision and started to gulp. His fear started to grew inside of him and he hoped she will not pull the trigger, but, his heart tells him that based off of her personality, she will shoot him.
"Gudnight, please, we can talk?" Leon tried to calm her down. He tried to get close but her man suddenly blocked him from moving. That man gave a sign to Leon to not do anything by shaking his head. "You know, he is like your old self, Leon." She started moving around Alan while she dragged her gun on his upper body. "Handsome". "Strong." "Nice build." "Headstrong." "Stubborn and a liar." She spoke word by word until she stopped behind him. She started to place the gun to his head. "But the sad thing is people who lie to me are the people I hate the most." She said. The sound of the gun trigger made his heartbeat fast.
Alan was frightened. The only he can do was to keep his eyes shut to keep his fear from growing. "Gudnight, if you want to shoot, just shoot me." Leon can't do anything but to offer himself. Unfortunately, she just gave him her smile. The situation became more tense but neither of them could do anything to avoid it. The decision was only in her hands. Suddenly, a gunshot sound echoed the bar. All the people inside the bar went silent. They started to stare but the weird thing is no action was taken from them.
Leon was shocked but he remained cool. After the shot, he somehow felt relief. Alan was still alive. The shot was aimed at the ceiling. Alan, who had his eyes closed, began to open it up slowly. 'Thank God I am still alive.' He checked his full body out of concern if any injuries happened to him. Alan looked up at Leon with an awkward smile, but it seems that Leon gave him an angry face. There was nothing they could do but to remain standing still.
"Gentlemen, I'm sincerely asking you, who's the captain?" She asked him while her hands were patting on Alan's shoulder. As a result, his body started to harden to her touch, since the trauma of almost getting shot never wore off him. "Lady Gudnight!" Everyone responded and lifted up their beers. "Who's giving you orders?" They gave the same answer and showed the same gestures. "Who made the damn rules?" She knew the answers but still wanted to show off in front of them especially Alan.
"Do you get it now, boy?" She started to whisper to Alan and he just agreed by nodding his head. "So, I am not the person to negotiate, you understand boy?" Alan just kept nodding his head in agreement to what she said because he felt like he's was
threatened by her. "Fools." After that, she left him with the stabbing words. "Someone please take my gun; I can't keep it back inside my sack, it's too hot." She ordered. Then her man came to take her gun. "Next time, do your work properly and look at the situation. Consider when I need something, got it?" She pulled out that man's shirt. Even when that man was bigger and looked stronger than her, she wasn't scared because she's the one who owned this city. "Please forgive me, my lady." Her man looked scared. "Useless." She left him and walked towards Leo.
"How was it, were you turned on?" She tempted to seduce Leon but he looked away to Alan, as he was too worried for him. "Don't worry, they wouldn't try to harm him and he had already beaten my best man." She pushed his face to look at her. There was no choice but to accept her words and leave Alan alone in the bar. She was the only key to a successful mission as mentioned by Lady Tiara. No other individual could have helped them if she walked away.
"You are a woman who's hard to deal with." He flirted while kissing her hands. Her face blushed with a smile. Both of them left Alan to move into her rooms while holding hands. On their way to the room, Leon looked to Alan and gave him a sign to indicate 'I won't be long.' Therefore, Alan understood the situation; and he just walked over to take a seat at the bar.
He looks at the big man that he took down. He felt uneasy because he sat beside that big man. He doesn't know what to do. He can't drink because he still has not tasted alcohol. He was still on the mission and was worried that he might get wasted. He looked beside him and he saw the big man he defeated was seated beside him. "Hey man, how are you?" He tried his best shot to break the awkwardness between them. Unfortunately, he was ignored and was given a spiteful response. Alan became speechless, and he failed to bring about a conversation. Suddenly, a mug of beer was placed on the table.
"If you have any business here, you have to drink." The big man came closer to him. "I'm sorry, I'm still a kid." "Come on kid, this is our city." He tried to pressure Alan. "No, I can't." He still refused but that big man pointed at a sign at the left side of the bar while he gave a cynical smile. Alan tried to look at the sign. 'All men engaging in businesses here must drink'. That was what the sign showed. "Oh, shit." Alan responded after he read the sign.
