Help, I Have Ascended

"ATTENTION!"

I clapped my arms to the side and stood straight. 6 days in and I'm back in the game, reviewing my training to get back into the swing of things. Director Graham came to check in on me a few days ago before heading off to a meeting at site 42. Aaron was sent to keep an eye on me to see how I was doing. He didn't look too pleased with losing his twenty dollars. Commander Barnum was pacing in front of the row of MTF trainees.

"Today we'll be going over weapon safety. NOW! Who can tell me the three most important things about weapon safety?"

Two other trannies and I stepped forward, speaking in unison, "Always keep your firearm unloaded unless in action. Never put your finger on the trigger until you are instructed to shoot. Listen to your commander at all times unless instructed by O-5."

"Good job Agent 345E, 321D, and S-105, "Commander Barnum turned, "Now, head to the barracks.S-105, stay put."

I stepped out of the crowd and faced Commander Barnum, "Yes sir!"

"At ease," He walked up to me, casting a sideways glance at Aaron, who was leaning against the wall waiting for me, "I wanted to say it was great to work with you again. You know, not many people here enjoy working with the SCPs, but I for one enjoy your company."

I smiled, "Awww. You're not getting soft on me are you Barnum?"

He laughed, "Not in your lifetime, kid." He looked over at Aaron who was staring at the exit. Barnum whispered, "Go easy on my guy over there."

I huffed, "He's the one throwing insults left and right."

"He's had a rough few years, " Barnum spoke, "Maybe you can tell from the scars."

I looked back at Aaron with dread in my stomach. The annoying agent had his helmet on, but the scars could still slightly be seen. I honestly wanted nothing to do with Aaron. He's annoying, rude, and has something against SCP. The scars are probably from something that caused it.

"Fine," I rolled my eyes, "Only because I respect you more than I hate Aaron."

"Thank you," Commander Barnum stepped back, "Depart, solder."

I walked towards Aaron, who stood up straight as I walked towards him, "Come on. Let's get ready." I turned and began to walk out the door.

"Oi! I'm the one supposed to be watching you!"

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

We walked in silence for a while, my brain playing with what Barnum had said to me. Aaron kept side-eyeing me suspiciously until reached my cell. I turned and folded my arms, "You realize you're supposed to guard me while I'm on missions, not in daily life, right?"

He narrowed his eyes, "Why? Are you trying to hide something?"

I rolled my eyes, "Are all MTFs this paranoid, or is it just you?"

"Not all MTFs are careful enough and it often costs people's life."

I turned around to head into the cell, "Well then you stay out here. I'm getting ready for tomorrow."

"Fine by me, Skip. But you don't order me around."

I closed my cell and flopped onto my bed. By tomorrow I'll be on a plane to Australia and (with luck) get a break from Aaron. I was just about to close my eyes when the door opened and Aaron stepped in.

I sat up and rolled my eyes, "What is it now?"

Another agent stepped in, "SCP-105. Please come with me."

I blinked in surprise and stood up, "Oh, ok." I followed him out, throwing a smug look at Aaron on my way past.

Aaron began to follow when the other agent stopped him, "You are dismissed. Return to your assigned post."

"But-

"Excuse me, agent," the agent interrupted, "That was not a request. The site Director has asked me to bring her, so you are dismissed."

Aaron hesitated, "Yes sir." He turned and walked away, giving another boost of euphoria.

The agent continued walking and I followed close behind. I chuckled, "Thanks. He's been a pain in my back all morning."

The agent smiled, "Well, you're welcome, I guess."

I looked at him and smiled, "I don't believe I caught your name?"

The guard hesitated, "Um... Mickey."

"Mickey? that's a nice name."

"It's fine," The agent said, "Let's just... stop talking for now."

I nodded and kept my mouth shut. About five minutes had passed before Mickey talked again, "So, you and Agent Aaron. Why's he guarding you personally?"

I sighed, "Well, I was asked to help with a mission by Director Graham, and he was placed to guard me."

"Dang," Mickey said, "Bet that gets annoying."

"It does," I started, "But apparently, Commander Barnum wants me to stay patient with him because of 'A few rough years."

The agent nodded before turning into a room, "Ok, we're here." He stepped aside and I stepped into the room.

That's when I was knocked to the ground and the door was shut. Immediately I felt hands hold me down and cuff my hands. I kicked and squirmed, causing a few of the dark figures to back off. A hand reached to my face. Instinct kicked in and I bit the hand as hard as I could, a howl coming from the owner. Blood splashed on my face and I felt a few bones snap between my teeth. Someone hit the back of my head, causing me to let go. When I opened my mouth to scream, a gag was shoved into it.

The figures stood me up and hauled me into the room. The world was fuzzy but I finally could see what was around me. I was in a room that looked like an empty containment chamber. A hole was in the roof with a hook lowering down. They turned me around and I felt something grab onto the bindings on my back.

The contraption began to lift me into the hole. One of them then spoke, "You sure this is the right one, Noah?"

"Positive," Said Mickey(Noah), "She even responded to me when I entered. Scared her guard off too."

"We can't be too sure," Dude 1 beckoned to two others with them, "You two. Keep a lookout for any MTFs."

"Yes Sir," The two of them said in unison and stepped out.

The door closed behind them. Guy 1 placed his hand on Noah to turn him away from me, "I'm still not convinced."

"well I found her in the cell," Noah snapped as I was raised higher, "So regardless if she's SCP-105, we got another SCP."

My eyes began to move around the room, trying to find something to use to escape or fight back. I looked up into the hole to see two guys in black using a crank to pull me up. A hook was keeping the chain from going back down. I smiled slightly.

Bingo.

I began to swing my legs back and forth while the two guys were talking. The two guys from above were focusing on pulling the crank and not noticing my exploits. My head was almost in the hole. In no time, they would drag me away and I'd be doomed.

A bang on the door made everyone stop moving and I stopped rising. Noah looked at the 1st guy, "What was that?"

"I don't know," The guy said, "Check it out."

Noah looked back at him in disbelief, "What?! But Kris-"

"Do it, Noah," the first guy hissed.

Noah frowned before walking to the door. I kept swinging, almost getting the chain off the hook. Noah's hand shakily touched the door not when swung open and hit him in the face. Kris pulled out a gun and pointed it at the door. Smoke poured into the room, blocking their vision. A small canister rolled into the room and I recognized it immediately.

An MTF smoke bomb.

Now was my chance.

I rocked harder than before, and finally, my feet hit the wall and I pushed off. I heard the chain click off the hook and I plummeted to the ground. I managed to roll when I hit the ground, getting hit in the leg by the chain. I lay on the ground as Kris turned to see what happened. That's when the smoke bomb went off, hiding me temporarily from him.

I could see his silhouette through the smoke, stumbling around, gun in hand. "WHERE DID SHE GO?!"

"She fell off the crank!" the guys called down to him, "Follow the chain!"

Kris started to the hole as I managed to get my other arm out and slipped out of the restraints. I slipped to the other corner near the exit. A wave of dark silhouettes suddenly poured into the room.

"MTF! Make yourself known!" They shouted as they entered. I recognized one in the front as he entered.

It was Aaron!

Kris turned and fired, but due to the smoke, he missed every shot.

An agent tackled him and looked up into the hole, "There's more! Get them!" A few agents boosted each other into the hole.

I lifted my hands and spoke, "I'm right here! SCP-105!"

An agent spun around, pointing a gun at me in surprise, before lowering it, "Ah, it's you." He turned, "Aaron, you were right! She's over here!"

Aaron walked over and sighed, "Ah, you're safe. I would hate to lose Graham's experiment," He held a hand out and pulled me up, "I knew that guy was suspicious."

I raised an eyebrow, "Really? How?"

"He said Director Graham asked for you," He chuckled, "Graham's at site 42 right now, so I doubt he'd ask for you."

I rubbed my arm and frowned, "Huh. Well, don't let it get to your head."

He smiled and nodded towards the door, "Come on. Let's get you back to your cell."
