"So what have you been up to this past few weeks I've been away" Belcarlis my friend since college and Lawyer said. 

"Nothing new," I said with my eyes fixed on the laptop before me on my desk.

"I saw the picture before I assume you must have taken it down" 

"What picture?" 

"Oh common dear friend, I've known you for a long while to know the way you looked at that lady isn't ordinary and you damn well know the picture I'm talking about" she crossed her legs and sunk in further into the chair she's seated. 

It took me a while to consider telling her before the reveal i have planned in a few days at the anniversary. 

Bel was one of the people i trust hence why i made her my trust advisor. 

"I am in love with her" I scoot my laptop aside to focus on our discussion. 

She gawked at me expectantly. 

"Love not like? You, the godfather of all bad boys is in love? I shudder to think that's true." 

She opened her eyes wide upon realization "Podcast girl?" "Did you shag her while i was away? Is she the one?" 

She's aware of all my calls to April's live podcast and has witnessed a few but i withheld other information like her name and personal deets coupled with our history. 

I was about to answer her when Grace's call came in via the intercom. 

"Ms. April is here to see you" she announced.

I felt my energy rise in excitement as I heard her name and it resulted to a big grin on my face. I concealed it quickly to avoid blowing up the plan in front of Bel.

"Send her in," i said. "It was nice meeting you today Bel" I stood up to lift her up the chair, handed her her bag, and led her to the door.

She seemed surprised and inquisitive but managed to keep her mouth shut when April stepped into the office. 

"Thank you for coming Bel" I eyed her to leave and she obeyed. 

"It's no problem J" she took her exit. 

"Why did you do it?" April said as I walked in front of her which made me notice she was angry. 

I wasn't clueless though. I knew what she meant must be the mortgage i paid.

"Do what?" I placed each of my palms on her shoulders.

"Pay for my mortgage, i didn't ask you to do it and you didn't ask for my permission either. I don't know what you're conniving but you don't just make such vital decisions without consulting me. I wanted that house to be mine knowing that i bought it with my money and you took that opportunity away from me. I don't need your help if that's what you think." Her voice was laced with tears and the fact that she didn't let them out made me realize i must have really hurt her with the gesture i considered harmless.

"Look at me, "I used a hand to lift her chin to my eye level. "I would never hurt you on purpose and I'm sorry about what I did. You are very special to me April. You have no idea how much" I kissed the crown of her head. 

"I am in love with you and would never do anything to hurt you on purpose" I looked into her eyes, wanting to know how she felt about my confession. 

"Jordan" she whispered 

"I had planned on telling you on Saturday night but it doesn't matter because it feels right saying it at this moment." 

I softly kissed her lips and she succumbed. It was like all that anger had disappeared and replaced with Joy. 

She held on to my neck and tilted her head to deepen the kiss. I was instantly aroused

"Don't let anyone in my office until i say otherwise," I said to Grace via the intercom.
