I ran through the woods with Eru and Sophie in tow as the siren's alarm blaring throughout the city.

This the worst-case scenario and of all things I had to consider, this was not one of them.

Who would have thought that forcing mana container awaken with mana pots would initiate a beast tide early by 5 years? I didn't.

Jesus on the stick.

Not to mention my blue screen is now blaring red.

The beast tide is a phenomenon that occurs regularly in this world. When mana accumulation reaches a certain threshold, the monster and beast become agitated and rush toward the nearest biggest source.

- Survive the beast tide.

- Kill 10 beasts/monsters

- Kill 100 beasts/monsters

- Kill 1000 beasts/monsters

- Any addition after 1000 kills grant 10 Battle EXP per kill upon completion of this event.

Are you kidding me, game? Now is not the time for this. Fuck. How you do expect me a Level 2 to complete this event? I don't even have a combat profession. It didn't even give me a decline option, WTF?

I mentally accept the Raid event anyway. Even if I don't kill any monster, I still get EXP IF I survive the event.

We ran for 5 minutes before arriving at the orphanage. The director and the staff were already herding the children toward the city's shelter.

Whew, at least we made it in time.

"Where were you three? Do you know what kind of situation this is?", said one of the matrons. "Doesn't matter. Quickly come here."

We quickly follow the group as we depart for the city's shelter. It was a quiet journey as everyone's nerve is tense from the current catastrophe.

"Alright, everyone goes on in order of youngest to oldest." The orphanage's director directs the children to go to the shelter.

The red screen starts flickering, like a warning sign. I can already felt the impending doom right down my spine.

The line of children and orphanage staff just seems infinitely longer and just as slow.

Me, Eru and Sophie were one of the last children to go in since we were the only ones in our generation.

As we were about to go into the shelter, a roar was echo out from the distance.

Shit. Yep, definitely wolves. The world is just out to get me, isn't it?

I quickly pull up my status, no point in saving if I'm going to die soon anyway.

My General EXP increases by about 1000 since my last check. It's probably from all the odds quest I got during that period.

After I pulled out my status, a new screen pop up.

Holy shit, why the fuck is there a bunch of fighting style. Fuck so many to choose from but no time to think.

I chose Archery as I don't want to be up close and personal against the monsters. I know it's a modern person's perspective. I thought that was all but another ability pop-up. And it's also one of the skills I learned in the previous world. PE class, you are a lifesaver.

Next, I quickly pull up my skill window. Time to delete some useless skill.

I deleted [Literacy (Otherworld)] and [Engineering]. Since it would be the most cost-effective ratio between the skills usefulness and proficiency points earned.

I added 1 point to [Athletics] to make it a 100 point, granting me [Second Wind].

I added 41 points to [Acrobatics] making it 100 points too, granting [Falling Expert].

I added 43 points to [Stealth] making it 100 points, giving [Dexterity Bonus].

I used up 85 points. Shit, I can feel my OCD is acting up, I put my proficiency points in Dodging in enough to make it a 100.

I used up an additional 88 points, granting me [Nimble Feet], [Minute Dodge], and the last milestone unlock was another [Dexterity Bonus].

In total, I used 173 proficiency points. So I have 159 points left.

so I got a +3 [Dex] bonus. Neat.

I could already hear them coming closer, the professionals were already moving in position to defend the shelter. The children are already streaming into the shelter. I'm running out of time.

I added the Experience points to level up my [Fighter] profession.

While I felt it's a waste that I unlock my mana but couldn't take a [Wizard] profession. I guess I'll have to multi-class into a [Wizard], after this was done and over. Assuming that I survive that is.

I have a premonition that my time was running out. The lines of people are still moving but from the look of it, I couldn't make it into the shelter without Sophie and Eru in tow. I guessed I'll have to stay behind and cover for them.

Without any second thoughts, I invested the rest of my EXP into my [Reincarnator] profession.

Just as my thoughts started to wander, a terrifying roar resounds in the surrounding.

Everyone started to panic, the adult professionals move to guard the parameter.

I on the other hand turn to frightened two girls. "Soph, Eru. Run!!!! to the shelter now."

Just in time for one professional to blown back from the frontline. His head was caved inward, blood everywhere. From his getup, he seems to be a scout? or is it a rogue?

It seems like the lady of luck smiles on me, the corpse is geared by a bow and a quiver of arrows. While I only ever shoot a bow from a firing range in the previous world, I was pretty good at it.

"What are you waiting for? RUN!!!!!", I screamed out in a hurry as I dash toward the corpse to arm myself. I didn't need to look to know that Eru and Sophie ran toward the Shelter and already went inside.

Not that I had any option cause I am currently staring at the wolf that killed a recent decease rogue.
