the devil's journey to godlyhood

As in many story's the devil faction was once the strongest family in all of the heavens the leader was once on par with The One, the man who houses all who wear the crown of true god. What people like Faruq don't know is that after death they are destined to serve The One after their reign ends, in fact the title of true god was a disguise to slowly build an army strong enough to repel the ever growing demons. The devil and The One started off as best friends 2 people who wanted to be deitys and rule over their creations together, and so together they created mortals, the best of them would 'generously' be granted the ability to ascend and serve their masters. The way The One treated his ascended mortals was very poor he would give them one goal, to do whatever he wished whenever he wished it, any insubordination would lead to death no questions asked, while The Devil would only offer the ascended ones a place at his home and they could do what they liked from there because he trusted the ascension process. The One disliked the fact more ascended mortals were choosing The Devil over him and he felt endangered so he lured out The Devil for a supper which would be his last. From what my father tells me it was a one sided massacre and he was lucky to escape with his life. The power they exerted when fighting was a billion times stronger then he is currently and that he can never reach that point but he saw something in me. My father is not my real father I was born in a species where if you knew who your father was you were lucky but I attained a power that to this day was unexplained, because I made a deal with the devil.
