Part 23: The Afterparty

Alison

Alison wasn't surprised when most of the meal was spent with her dad gushing over her song and being grateful towards Dean for helping her but she will admit she was surprised Professor Smoak hadn't brought up their current assignment.

"Well, Leo seeing that everyone is about finished with desert how about some entertainment?"

"That is a great idea lets go into the other living room." Leo practically jumped to his feet while Professor Smoak turned to help his aunt then they led the way for the others.

As everyone was already making their way to the next room Alison sighed, "What's wrong?"

Alison turned to see Dean's hand out to help her out of her seat.

"Well, who knows what tonight's entertainment will be I just hope I don't end up playing the piano again."

"Piano?"

"Um yeah the room we are going to has a piano and all the seats are facing it, but if I'm lucky we will watch a musical or previous show that my music was in." Alison didn't want to see Dean's face so instead, she looked ahead.

"Well, if you end up having to play I would gladly share the stage with you."

"Really?"

"Of course we could perform the first peace you made me sing."

"Correction Professor Smoak made you sing and I don't have the recording so while I play the piano you will sing."

"Well, you were bossy as can be so I still think you forced me. You even scolded me after remember."

"Because you were such a bad student," Alison laughed and nudged Dean.

"Hey, I am a great student. I still know the song that should be proof."

"Sure," Alison chuckled and walked ahead.

Dean

Dean was overjoyed. There was no other way to put it, Alison was happy and wasn't pushing him away instead she accepted his help if needed, and to make things even better he learned so much about her and her love for her family. Each second he was there he admired her more than the last. He found out that she was brave and would do anything for her father and brother, and they for her.

As he followed Alison they soon entered the 'other living room' though it looked like a small concert hall. Sure there were couches, but they were in a semi-circle facing the slightly raised stage that held a microphone on a stand in the front, and to the left of it was a white piano, and next to the piano was an acoustic guitar. Dean stood there in awe until he felt a nudge.

"You are about to start drooling," Alison chuckled.

"You realizing living rooms don't normally have a small stage, right."

Alison chuckled, "Well it comes in handy when your mom has an amazing voice and your dad is her biggest fan." Alison turned towards the stage and smiled as if she was remembering a special moment.

"The piano and guitar were my mom's, she was the one who taught me how to play, and now when I'm home every so often I would play a melody for my dad."

"What are you two doing still standing come take a seat and let's watch the performance," Leo called.

Alison smiled and took a seat next to her father and that left Dean to take the single seat next to her.

"So dad no need to keep up the suspense which performance are we watching?" Alex asked.

"We will watch one from your mother and the second one will remain a surprise." Dean couldn't help but notice how Alison smiled as she heard the announcement.

Leo then picked up a remote and turned on the huge flat-screen TV that was on the wall behind the stage. After a few clicks, the video started. Dean was once again in awe, Alison was an exact copy of her mother, the same hair, face, and smile. It was obvious they both shared the same passion for music and it could be seen when they performed.

He turned as the performance came to an end and noticed Alison was blinking away tears and so were her father and brother.

"Luna was an amazing artist Leo and Alison looks just like her mother," Ms Johnson smiled.

"She truly was Leo, and without a doubt, Alison got her talent from her mother," Professor Smoak added.

Leo smiled down at Alison with his arm around her, "My wife was truly gifted and I know for a fact she would be proud of who our daughter is becoming. I am more than blessed because anytime I look at my children I see parts of Luna and they make me feel as if she truly is still here. Alison with her talent and beauty and Alexander with her brains and humor."

Both the Walker siblings smiled with their father, "Thank you, Dad," they said in unison.

"Ehem, now on to the next performance." Leo picked up the remote and the next video started.

It seemed as though the person holding the camera was running because all you could see was moving tiles and hear shoes hitting the ground. Then the running stopped and the person entered a room and by the sounds it seemed like the person wasn't alone. The room was pitch black then the light turned on in the booth. Alison appeared, she was hooking up her phone to the system then the melody began. She picked up the headset and took a deep breath.

Dean realized they were watching Alison's unplanned performance. He turned and looked at everyone in the room. Alison was frozen, it was as if she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Her father was smiling with his tears finally falling free. Alexander had also shed a few tears but his smile and eyes showed how proud he was of his little sister. Olivia was smiling and holding onto Alexander's arm. Professor Smoak had his arm over Ms Johnson and they were both swaying to the beat of the song.

No one could take their eyes away from the video as they saw how alike Alison and her mother truly were. The way she poured her heart and soul into the lyrics it was clear as day. Then the melody began to fade and the song slowly came to an end. Alison finally opened her eyes to be met with students cheering.

She frowned then began to sway and it was obvious she was fainting and as she fell Dean rushed forward ahead of Professor Smoak trying to catch her but he was a second too late. He quickly picked her up bridal style and yelled "Where is the nurse's office?" and that's where the video ended.

"Alison that was beautiful," Alexander said to her with tears running down his face. then he turned to Dean, "Thank you for helping my sister."

Leo turned to face Dean, "Thank you for helping my daughter Dean I am truly grateful."

Dean scratched the back of his head, " I just did what anyone would do. There is no need."

"Stop right there because this will continue until someone accepts it." Alison took a deep breath and looked at Dean, "I never thanked you for helping me and I believe it's far past due but thank you Dean and I'm sorry for trying to push you away."

Dean sat there frozen, of all the things he thought would happen that was the last thing he expected, it was definitely an interesting afterparty.

Professor Smoak smiled and nudged his aunt, "Well, now since you two are now friends how about you both perform for us before we call it a night?"

"Ms Johnson I think that is a great idea," Leo laughed overjoyed.

Alison turned to Dean with wide eyes.
