The Break Room

It was now Friday, the last day of the school week. Tomorrow was the pre game competition camp tradition. We were all going to drive to Lake View Park, which was an hour away. We're all supposed to meet up at Parker's house to arrange everyone into cars and organize everything.

I get up from my bed, to get ready for another day. I had another sleepless night of nightmares. I kept hearing kids from my old school torturing me and I couldn't get away. I was too weak. I woke up to another nose bleed.

Why does this keep happening? I'm better now. Stronger. I'm not getting bullied and I'm closer to my family. I have people who care about me.

I wish I could figure it out, but I don't have the time.

I got dressed very slowly, barely being able to keep my eyes open. I slid on my red, cropped tank top and some joggers that were a mix of black, red, blue, yellow, and white. I put on my red and white Filas and braid my hair back into two fishtails.

I texted Max telling him that I wasn't catching a ride with him today. I drove to school hoping it would help me wake up and clear my mind.

By the time I got to school, I was still in a bad mood. When I walked through the doors, I could tell today wasn't going to be like any other school day.

The hallways were empty, but I could hear shouting from the cafeteria. I didn't know what was going on, but none of the people I usually talked to were out here, so I went to see if they were in the cafeteria.

There was a crowd of people surrounding something. I couldn't tell who or what it was, but I could tell it was bad.

Then I heard Sky.

"How fucking could you? Your my best friend."

"You guys weren't even together, Sky," I heard another voice. It was Lily.

I started pushing through the crowd, trying to see what was happening. When I got to the front, I could see Sky and Lily yelling at each other.

"You knew I liked him. I told you and Spencer. You didn't say anything about liking him. You were pushing me to go out with him. You introduced us and we went out on dates."

"You can still have him. We were just having fun." Lily was basically nonchalant about everything Sky was saying and I could tell Sky was hurt.

"Lily, I'm tired of your shit. You always do this and just expect me to stay friends with you. You fucking slept with him knowing that I liked him. You can't even see what you did was wrong. And I can't put all the blame on you. It's his fault too. I'm just done with the both of you."

And with that, Sky turned away from Lily.

"Oh, please. He obviously didn't like you if he slept with me. So, you should be thanking me for revealing his true self to you."

Was Lily serious?!?!

Sky was pissed off now. She turned back around and-

SMACK

"Fuck you, Lily," and Sky walked away. Lily was left holding her cheek where Sky slapped her.

I turn around to leave the cafeteria and go after Sky.

"Sky, wait up," I try calling her, but she doesn't stop walking. I start running towards her and she starts to run too, but luckily I'm faster than her.

I hurry up and yank her into an empty classroom. She tries to fight back, but I lock the door.

"Let me out, Spencer!" Sky still tries fighting back.

"Stop fighting me, Sky! I just want to talk. I'm too tired to be fighting you right now!" Sky finally calmed down, but then she started crying.

"Tell me what happened Sky." I pull her into a hug.

"You heard everything I said. She slept with Gasper. I went to her house and saw them on her couch humping like bunnies."

I felt really bad for Sky. What type of friend does that? Lily knew Sky had feelings for Gasper and Gasper knew too. He was to blame here as well, but it hurts more to be backstabbed by a friend.

I would know.

This was like freaking deja vu.

"Listen, Sky. I can't tell you to just forget about them and move on because everyone deals with their problems in different ways. They hurt you in one of the worst possible ways and it'll hurt for a long time, but I've known you for some time and I think I know something that'll help you feel better for at least now."

"What is it," the blue haired girl asks, pouting. I get up from the floor and make her stand up too.

"Let's go. Trust me, it'll help."

"What about school? You sure you want to miss classes just to make me feel better?" I nod my head yes.

We leave school in my car and I take her to one of the first places I went when I moved here. It was called The Break Room.

"What is this place? How do you know more places than I do? I've been living here my whole life."

"Come in and you'll see." When we get inside, I pay for a two hour session. The guy in the front hands us both a bat and leads us into a room full of stuff.

"Have fun ladies," he says as he closes the door behind us.

"What are we supposed to do," Sky asks me.

"Isn't it obvious? Start taking your anger and sadness out on these objects." I swing my bat and break some beer bottles. Sky gives her bat a weak swing.

"Oh, come on. Get into it." She follows my advice and starts swinging more violently.

"I WISH THIS WAS GASPERS FACE," she screams, breaking a couple of things. Not too long later, she was fully in the zone.

"I WISH THESE WERE LILY'S BOOBS!" She breaks some plates.

I feel bad for anyone who gets in a fight with Sky. She really pictures in detail how she wants to kill you.

"I WANNA LIGHT HIS FUCKING HEAD ON FIRE!" She's really scaring me.

After she's done breaking everything in the room, I take her to the shooting range section.

She looked like she was having fun imagining she was shooting the heads off of the people who did her wrong.

"AHHHHHHHHH," Sky screams as she shoots the bullets at the target. The guy that was working there looked scared as well.

After we were done, I took Sky home. She didn't drive herself to school today and school was over. We spent more time at The Break Room than I expected.

Before she gets out of the car, she hugs me.

"Thank you so much for today, Spencer. I don't deserve you."

"Don't worry about it. I was just comforting my friend."

"I'll see you tomorrow for pre game tradition." She gets out the car and skips to her door, looking a lot better than before.

I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket. When I take it out, I see a text from Max.

Max- Where are you? I haven't seen you all day.

Spencer- I'm on my way home now.
