Chapter 14

Kudo Gin Age : 11 years 1 month old .

The second great shinobi world war finally started for real one month ago . The Iwagakure suddenly declared full scale war on Konoha and Sunagakure also joined it few days later .

The Kumogakure and Kirigakure had stayed neutral for now but it was clear that they would also join the war soon after seeing the waters for a while.

Konoha had no choice but to divide its forces into three parts . One part to face Iwa at the Amegakure lands , one part to face Suna at the desert and one part as reserve forces to keep watch on other two great villages and protect the village.

Fortunately Konoha had few leading figures who could serve as Legion Commanders at the different battlefields. Orochimaru and Tsunade were dispatched to the battlefield with Iwa and Orochimaru was the main commander . Hatake Sakumo and Jiraya were dispatched to the battlefield with Suna . Sakumo was the main commander.

Gin , Narumi and Taiga were left inside the village by Tsunade as she was too kind to guide them to their deaths. Narumi and Taiga had improved very much but they were only at a level where they can fight four of five fresh genins at the same time alone . Gin could be called veteran chunin level but that was still only cannon fodder level in Tsunade's eyes.

Gin was upset because Minato had followed Jiraya to the battlefield right away while he had no choice but to wait for his turn . Gin did not sit idle though . He turned to Hokage who had good impression on him and directly appealed to be dispatched to any battlefield many times . He had gained many more points from killing chakra beasts and gained many skills in this time . But the battlefield where ninja were points to him and numbered in thousands was too irresistible for him .

Fortunately Hokage had no choice to dispatch Gin now because almost all the genins had joined the genin corps already . To complete the emergency B rank mission to deliever supplies to Suna Central Battlefield , no chunin was available currently inside the village including the anbu . Danzo and his Root were also trying to reduce Konoha's casualties by confusing Iwa and Suna through various means .

Gin was a genius so he was promoted directly to chunin rank using the special rules which applied to warring time . He was assigned a team of three genin who were not much counted upon . Still , Hokage had confidence in Gin because Gin had told him that he was a medium range natural sensor too . This skill was more than enough to hand over this important emergency mission to Gin .

Outside the Konoha main gates , Gin was wearing new Konoha chunin vest and looking intently at the three genin who were carrying bags filled with scrolls storing rations and weapons . To be precise Gin had his attention focused on one of the genins who was weird as he was wearing a green jumpsuit and had thick eyebrows and moustache . While the weirdest part was that he was flashing a thumbs up to Gin with a tooth grin for no reason at all . Gin absolutely did not mind though because he was feeling too happy as unexpectedly Might Dai joined his small mission team ..

" Ahem.. well , I dont know about shouting to raise your moral so we will skip that part . Our mission is to deliever emergency supplies as soon as possible so we will have to follow the fastest route while fighting multiple squads of enemies who will definitely come to destroy us . So just tell me your specifications so that I can form basic battle formations.."

Seeing Gin's lack of drive , the two genin were speechless because this genius actually dared to openly yawn without feeling shame. This behavior was unacceptable for them because of the importance of the mission . They could not be blamed as B rank mission much less in war time was more than enough to make them feel extremely nervous. They did not have guts to scold Gin though because they had heard about him defeating three C rank chakra beasts at once to save a genin inside the Forest of Death .

Dai was as usual overexcited though so he was the first one to speak. " I'm Konoha's Green Beast Might Dai . I will give enemies a lesson filled with youth with my taijutsu skills. It's nice to meet you Captain Gin . "

Gin was happy that Dai was a simpleton because the other two relaxed a little now . " Well it's nice to meet you two Dai san . Alright you two start speaking already as we have to leave as soon as possible. "

" Umm.. My name is Hiroyuki and I am confident in my shurikenjutsu.. "

" My.. name is Sato Kiba and my speciality is .... is... nothing special .. " Kiba was too embarrassed that he wanted to cry now because he truly only knew 3 Academy jutsu.

" No need to feel embarrassed Kiba chan. You are a soldier and every soldier has his own part to play on battlefield . Just follow my orders and I will ensure than none of you guys die during this mission .. "

Felling Gin's pat on his shoulder and voice filled with kindness, Kiba was touched and made up his mind to trust this captain of theirs . Same went for Dai and Hiro too because they could feel too that Gin was being honest . Of course Gin was being honest as Jonin wont be off the main battlefield now most likely and he was not afraid of chunin class ninja at all ..

" Alright let's go now . Dai , you protect the rear and thrash the enemies with your taijutsu. At least try to keep them busy for a while . Hiro and Kiba will carry all the bags and travel in the middle while I will be the one doing the job of our team's scout and main combatant, okay ? "

" Hai.. " With the shout from the three , the small team started hopping over the tress using their thick branches at full speed ahead.. . Gin was smiling because it did not feel that bad to lead a team when they are willing to follow your orders ..
