Chapter 3

She soon heard his door open up again. So she decided to start getting some work done. She heard his footsteps coming closer but then another door opened. He went inside the bathroom.  A few moments later he came out and towards her.

"Did you need something Melissa?" he asked her. "Um, yea. Could you help me reach something? It's a little too high for me" she responded. "of course" he replied. So she opened the door and pointed to the box that was on the shelf. He went in and grabbed the box. As he was stretching to grab it his shirt came up a little and she could see his underwear. The label read Calvin Klein.

He turned around and handed her the box and she set it down on the floor. She sat on her knees to open the box and go through it. She found some drapes for the Echo room. So she grabbed the remaining drapes, stood up, and put them with another box of drapes that were already opened.  "Melissa, why don't we put these gloves somewhere else. If they stay on the cart we might end up losing them, " he mentioned.  "Do we have a box to put these in?" he asked.  " I think we have one in the break room," Melissa responded. She got up and walked to the break room to grab a box and returned. "Here," she said handing him the box. 

He put the 3 boxes of gloves into the bigger box. One of the boxes didn't want to fit so they both tried to readjust the box and as they did their hands touched. 'His skin is cold but so soft.' she thought to himself. Being near him sometimes makes it hard for her to concentrate. "Now we need a place to put this box," he said. They needed to be accessible,  so Melissa opened the small cabinet below the sink. There were some boxes under. So she got on her knees again and started going through the boxes. 

 They seemed to be electrodes with only three inside. Melissa had an idea. They could be used for the Holter monitors for the time being.  There were six boxes of them, so she put those in the closet so they could be used. There were also three boxes of electrodes that were used for stress tests, which she also put in the closet.  Now that the cabinet was empty, Melissa put the box of gloves in there.

"Great job," he complimented her. Just as soon as she got done she heard a door open. Melissa looked at her watch and it was 7:50 am. She had to go open up the door for the patients. They both walked to the front and say Lisa the receptionist. "Morning Lisa," Melissa greeted. "Morning" she greeted back. She opened up the door and headed back to her desk to get started for the day. The day went off like any other day. They were one person short since someone got fired, so they had some extra stuff put on them. 

Melissa had a half-hour left before she was about to leave. Lisa came to the back and handed us a card. "It's Dr. Peterson's birthday tomorrow," she said. So Melissa and Katie signed the card. Melissa left for the day. She ran some errands and then picked up her son and went home. They watched a movie before putting him to sleep. During the movie, she got a text message. She opened it and it was from Lisa. 

TEXT MESSAGES

Lisa: Hey, do you have any decorations left from either of your kids' parties?

Melissa: I think I only have ballons

Lisa: That's fine. Bring them tomorrow

Melissa: Should I bring the birthday boy pin as well? lol

Lisa: lmao

So Melissa went to grab the balloons leftover from Bailey's birthday party and put them in her work bag. The movie finished and she put Aiden to sleep, did the dishes, and went to bed herself.
