Chapter Seventeen: What In The Game Of Thrones?

My heart was pounding violently against my chest as I stared at the open front door of the Matthews' residence. Should I follow him? Should I call the police? Another crash sounded from inside the house, and without a second thought, I scurried into the house with my heart in my throat. The noise was everywhere and nowhere at the same time. So much shouting. And the only voice I could recognize in the craziness was the one that belonged to Jackass. A woman was screaming. More were crying. I didn't have a second to try and figure it out, because I had made it to the heart of the drama. I crinkled my nose at the terrible stench that floated around the room. My eyes landed on Jackass first, who was shouting profanities at the wall.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS HE DOING HERE GIA?!" he bellowed in pure rage. I had never seen him so angry before. His ears, face and neck were red, and his fists were balled up so tight that his knuckles had turned white. I stepped further into the room, to see the wall he was shouting at.

"I-it's not w-what it looks like!" Porcelain stuttered, looking like a deer caught in headlights. She had tears streaming down her face, her make-up running and looking like something that crawled out of a sewage drain. Her hair was dishevelled and standing in all different directions. She had a huge red mark on her cheek, and as I studied her appearance a little closer, I realised that her green satin blouse was torn at the shoulder and her white jeans were covered in dirt. Three of the five household staff were huddled further in the corner, crying amongst each other. The rest of the room was chaotic. The large dining room table was smashed in, feathers from the couches in the living room were flying everywhere. The fish tank in the far corner, shattered. Some of the curtains were ripped, some completely torn off the railing. Vases shattered; their flowers scattered all over. What the hell happened here?

"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN 'IT IS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE'?!" He shouted again, and Porcelain visibly cowered away. I must have been the only one in the room who didn't know what the hell was going on. Gia didn't say anything, just continued weeping.

"ANSWER ME!" he demanded sharply, making the both of us jump. I'm sure he's about to turn into the hulk or something.

"Don't you dare shout at her like that!" a new voice bellowed from across the vast room. This voice was calm, chilled, and yet so terrifying. I caught Gia squeezing herself in the corner of the couch at the corner of my eyes. I didn't have time to ponder on that questioning action however because the sound of bones cracking almost sent me to my knees. It happened so fast that none of us had time to react. The guy who had spoken when he entered the room was on his back, with a bloody nose. Jackass was straddling him and was pounding him like he was trying to tenderise steak. The mystery man didn't even have time to react or room to fight back because Anthony was fuelled with so much anger and didn't show signs of letting up anytime soon.

"Anthony! Stop you'll kill him!" Gia shrieked as she tried to pry him off her lover. Jackass just shrugged her off and continued practicing his boxing skills on the poor defenceless man. Gia tried once again but failed. She realised that he wasn't going to stop and grabbed a pillow from the couch and threw it at him. He didn't even flinch as it hit him against the head. She threw the remote next, which hit him on his back, but he continued. Her eyes were frantic and filled with panic as she looked around and ordered the staff to do something, but they were frozen to their spots. Her eyes continued searching, until they met me. I was still standing in the doorway; frozen with my mouth hanging open.

"Azania, please help! He will kill him!" she cried out desperately. I didn't want to do anything for her and her lover. She was the one who decided to cheat and now she was paying the price. But the thought of Anthony in an orange jumpsuit with handcuffs on his wrists flashed through my mind and gave me a cold shiver. I took two steps further into the room, not quite sure how I was going to approach this situation. I decided to wing it.

"Stop it!" I screamed, and it was as if he couldn't hear a thing I said. I noticed that the guy was on the verge of losing consciousness, so I ran to where they were and placed my hand on his bicep.

"Anthony, stop." I said firmly in a soft tone. And a miraculously enough, he stopped immediately. His breathing was heavy, and his forehead was creased in concentration when he turned to look at me. His lips parted and his pupils dilated as he continued to stare at me quizzically. I held his gaze, hand still on his bicep and stared intensely in his blue crystal pools. We must have gotten lost in each other's eyes for a while because we both snapped out of it when we heard a throat being cleared. We turned our heads to look at Gia, who had her fierce gaze focused on something. We followed her gaze like we were synchronized, and our eyes both fell on my hand that was still on his bicep. And in that moment, his bicep felt hot to the touch, so I yanked my hand away and backed away from him awkwardly. Gia's lover coughed up blood, and I cringed away from the disgusting sight.

"A little cosy, aren't we?" Porcelain snapped as Anthony rose to his feet. He fixed his tie and chucked his blazer away, straightened and looked at her, the angry and cold expression back on his face.

"What the bloody hell is going on here G?" he asked in a cold and calm voice.

"You tell me." she bit back. Her eyes flickered to me again.

"Don't you dare try that shit with me. Here I am, fixing YOUR mess and saving your ass. Again! So, the next words to come out of your mouth better be an explanation as to why that fucking lunatic is in my house!" Gia diverted her eyes from him to me once again, sending a cold shiver up my spine.

"Did you have to bring her here?" she asked in an icy tone.

"ANSWER MY FUCKEN QUESTION GEORGIANA!" he snapped, making me jump again. Gia's lover stirred and groaned from the ground, and as if Anthony had remembered that he was in the same room with us, he turned around and gave him a swift kick in the ribs.

"Stop it you're hurting him!" Gia cried out and my eyebrows shot up. She's defending her lover from her husband?

"Why do you care?" Jackass challenged, looking like an animal about to capture its prey.

"He's my brother Anthony, how can you even ask me that?" Gia answered in a small voice. And it was like someone had slapped me across the face. She's having an affair with her brother? What in the Game Of Thrones?

"After all he's done to you?" Jackass cried incredulously, throwing his hands in the air.

"When are you going to realise that he has changed? He is not the same man that he was all those years ago!" she defended exasperatedly.

"If he has changed so much, then why did you call me? Why do I come back to my house looking like this? Tell me, why is my staff here?" he asked mockingly, tilting his head to look at her with a taunting face.

"It was my fault." She said in a small voice, fumbling with her fingers and looking at her shoes, making me nosily wonder what it was that her brother did to her. Jackass sighed and walked towards her with a solemn expression on his face.

"You were doing so well Gia. What happened?" he asked in a softer tone as he wrapped his arms around her. She immediately started crying into his chest and I had to force myself to look away and give them the privacy they needed.

"I missed him. I missed my brother and when he called, I just had to see him and make sure that he was okay. He is the only family I have left Anthony. Without him, I have no one." Porcelain sobbed, clutching his dress shirt with her delicate fingers.

"You have me Georgiana. You don't need anybody else. You have me." he cooed softly, stroking her hair lovingly. I felt a pang in my heart as I heard him usher those words to her.
