Chapter Fifty-Eight: Midnight Swim

Anthony's POV

Parking the i8 in its spot, I pause for a moment to study the sleeping beauty curled in the seat next to me. My chest constricts at the sight of her; at the memory of her soft hands cupping my cheek, her lips pressed against mine, the taste of her tongue.

'I want you.'

Three simple words.

I have not been the same ever since they were uttered. How could she want me? I have nothing to offer her. Nothing but trouble, at least. But the longer I look at her, the harder it is to ignore the fact.

I want her too.

The revelation leaves me perturbed. I still don't know what to do about this situation. I don't want to get her into trouble. And quite frankly, I don't need the trouble. This would set Gia off. And I shudder to think what she would do in retaliation.

The memory of Azania's abduction haunts me every day. What if Gi does something worse to her when she finds out I'm falling for her?
