Chapter Sixty-One: Declarations

"Nothing ... I just didn't know. That's all." I mutter, looking around in an attempt to avoid his gaze.

"Don't lie to me. Tell me what's wrong." His voice is stern, making him sound more like Principal Matthews than Azania's Jackass.

"I don't know if I want this picnic if it is something you do with your wife." I don't mean for the word 'wife' to come out with disgust. Forcing myself to look at him, I search for clues in his expression that would tell me what he's thinking. He looks angry.

"Azania, there are a lot of things I want to do with you. Even if it means I have already shared it with another woman. And I don't want that to be the reason we don't do anything." He says calmly, but the ticking of his jaw tells me he is far from being calm.

"I just don't want to hear about how you and Porcelain did this and that, especially during my study break." I retort, folding my arms.
