Chapter Ninety-Six: Explanation

My shoulders sag with the weight of the avalanche that keeps tumbling down on me as I stare at the ghost in front of me. The life in me has been drained out and at that moment, I realize how exhausted I am. I am tired in ways I can not even begin to explain.

It has been one thing after the next for 2 months, and to my displeasure, it does not look like it is about to stop any time soon. Not when deadbeat moms emerge from prison, best friends fall in love and dead men wake from the dead.

It feels like time has frozen as we stand in the doorway, staring at the ghost, confrontation all but forgotten. He looks so much like the man that has captured my heart, just older. The familiarity in their features gives me a chill. My eyes are heavy as they swing over to look at Anthony, who himself looks like he has just seen a ghost. I can't place any of my emotions right now, I can only imagine what he must be feeling.
