Chapter 11: Are You Hungry, Sweety?

"My dear Carla, mommy will be back after three days, okay? Please behave in front of your Auntie." Leila said to Carla who was only one year old who didn't know anything yet, supposed.

Leila was already wearing formal clothes with a jacket on. She carried Carla who was smiling at her in Carla's big cribbed.

Carla used this chance, "Jade! Get ready!" She said in her thoughts.

Carla's right hand had a butterfly mark without anyone knowing. As Leila busy hugging and smooching Carla, Carla was looking for a place on her mother's body that would be hard to seen and she needs to be fast!

Carla wanted to put the mark on her mother's back, however, with her short fluffy hands, it wouldn't be possible. Thus, she put her shorthands inside her mom's clothes.

Which stunned Leila. However, she didn't stop Carla, or else she might drop her. She didn't want that to happen. Therefore, she struggled with her daughter's ticklish hands!

'Come on, come on! Where to put' Carla hurriedly touched her mother's front body. When her hands reached under Leila's left breast, she said mind, 'Jade, now!'

Jade instantly went there and left a butterfly mark, indicating her.

As to why that place, Leila wouldn't see it as her breasts are big enough to cover it.

Jade: ...

'Sorry Jade,' Carla apologized to her mind. It was pretty awkward to put it there.

Leila gently picked Carla's hands out of her body. "Geez, what a naughty kid! Pft, if you want to play with me, next time when I come back okay?"

Carla just hugged her as she felt mentally tired. A baby's brain was small that her knowledge should be limited.

As for her past life memories, it marked on her soul, that's why, even if her brain was small, she still could remember it.

However, thinking too much about it, or thinking like an adult, made her mentally weak. She mostly lasted minutes and she would immediately fell asleep.

That's why, most of the time, she just goofed around and destro-- played with her ugly toys.

All toys given by her father were ugly, no exception.

Leila just hugged her and made her sleep. It was only 5 am, and she knew Carla just woke up, yet fell asleep again. She just understood it as it may be part of growing up.

Growing mental illness maybe.

Abruptly, Claude and Annalisa came inside the room. Leila made a hushed sound and showed them Carla who was sleeping in her arms.

The two covered their mouth. Leila gave the sleeping Carla to Annalisa, and Claude brought their luggage out of the room.

"Please take care of my daughter on my behalf. See you in three days." Leila whispered and gave Annalisa a peck on the cheek before going out.

As Annalisa's gaze was at the door, she didn't notice the movement on Carla's cribbed behind her.

A pink butterfly, Lucy, immediately ate Bear Bear to keep safe it and she hid on Carla's pajamas while Annalisa wasn't looking.

When the couple went out of the room, Annalisa looked at Carla who was in her embrace, and smiled sweetly. She gently put her in the cribbed. She yawned.

It was too early. Hence, Annalisa planned to go back to sleep. However, she couldn't leave Carla here nor brought her to her room. She looked around and saw the couple's bed. She carried her sleepy self on that bed and slept.

....

When Carla woke up, she saw Annalisa on her mother's bed sleeping soundly. She frowned.

However, she didn't make any ruckus nor plan to wake her up.

Yesterday, her mother invited Annalisa at home and asked her to babysit her for three days.

Carla's parents had a business trip to City A, and couldn't bring her there as they would be very busy and couldn't look after her.

Leila then, asked her trusted friend, her best friend who was still in the city.

Annalisa agreed as she wanted to help.

Carla looked around to see that Bear Bear that wasn't beside her. Lucy instantly explained. Then, Carla felt relieved.

Annalisa slowly opened her eyes and was shocked to see Carla's indifferent face looking at her. She shrugged and went near her. "Are you hungry, sweety? Let's go grab breakfast."

Carla staggered a little and didn't move. She was still scared, especially when Annalisa called her sweety.

Annalisa didn't know what she was thinking and carried her to the dining room.

Then, she fed her some soft baby food. Carla didn't do any tricks and just do what Annalisa wanted. She still couldn't face her as she would remember that time in the basement before her death.

Carla just indifferently looked at the food and other utensils. It made Annalisa worried.

The last time she met her at the party, Carla got scared of her for an unknown reason. Yesterday, Carla ignored her.

And now, Carla wouldn't even look at her.

'Am I really ugly that she wouldn't look at me? But, I'm Miss Country P in my college year.' Annalisa thought.

Even though Annalisa felt so awkward, she tried her best to feed her and tried to play with her. However, Carla didn't bother looking at her and continued to eat.

Annalisa felt wrong for some reason. She just accepted that some kids surely didn't like her. However, she still took care of her on behalf of her best friend.

After they ate, Annalisa carried her and strolled at the mansion. While strolling, she would admire the structure and history of the mansion.

And most of the time, she would tell a story to Carla about her and Leila's friendship.

How they became friends just because of the pudding she gave to Leila.

How their bond got stronger by helping each other in times of need.

How they part ways after graduation, but still made contact which others, and so on.

Carla observed Annalisa. Annalisa's facial expressions were genuine. After all, being a baby, her emotional radar was stronger and she didn't know why. Maybe, it was part of a baby's instincts?

From Annalisa's story, and how she told her this, Carla could feel that Annalisa truly cared for her mother and treasured their friendship.

Which confused her, 'Then, why did you betrayed my mother?'
