The incident: Is it the curse?

They were moving too fast

His mouth attacked her breast causing her to gasp and her eyes rolled back. Scarlett's finger dug into his shoulder blade, helpless against the reeling pleasure. She didn't know whether to push him away or just draw him closer to feel the warmth of his body.

He cupped her other breast while paying homage to this one with his teeth, the sensation was euphoric.

"Jasper" Scarlett hissed out, writhing below him, unable to contain the excitement anymore. She wanted him now.

But Jasper was intent on killing her with pleasure, his hands exploring the exposed parts of her body.

"It's time," Jasper growled into her ears, she shivered. The moment they have been waiting for has come. Her anticipation has been built.

Jasper was just about to pull down her shorts when a loud hiss was heard, accompanied by his howl of pain.

"What is it?" Scarlett sat up, frightened by the whole situation.

"She just clawed me!" Jasper hissed out, showing Scarlett the area of his neck where the cat just scratched him deeply enough to break the surface of the skin.

Scarlett was stunned, where had Juliet come from? How had the cat even snuck into her room because she was sure she never welcomed her in.

With anger, Scarlett turned to give Juliet a piece of her mind when the cat in question leaped at Jasper, successfully clawing him on his arm again.

"Jesus! What the hell is wrong with you?! " Scarlett could not understand the cat's abrupt aggressiveness and restlessness.

It occurred to her that the cat might have gone rabid but Scarlett knew Amelia spends a lot in its vaccinatination and other treatments. What was the problem then?

"Juliet, down now!" Scarlett yelled at the cat who had bit onto the hem of Jasper's pants who tried his best to shake it off of him.

The sudden commotion must have attracted people's attention because she heard footsteps coming in the direction of their room. Scarlett at once grabbed her shirt from where Jasper had tossed it away in their moment of passion and put it on, before opening the door as soon as a knock came.

"I heard a terrifying noise," Amelia was the first person to appear, "What the hell is going on?"

Scarlett sidestepped, and she went in

"It's your cat…."

"Oh my God!" Amelia's hand flew to her mouth the moment her eyes fell on the scene, "What happened?"

"I don't know…." Scarlett said, trying to free the cat who had successfully ripped his pants and now had his teeth sunk deep into Jasper's leg.

If Jasper was in pain, she couldn't tell since he had an expressionless look on his face.

"I can't force its jaw open," Scarlett groaned with the effort of trying to stop the cat from inflicting more damages on him," I don't know why it's so vicious,"

At once, Amelia went to call for help just as Emerson walked into the room, horrified at the sceneó. In no time, help came and it took the combined struggle of two men to yank the cat away. Juliet fought back at them fiercely but they overpowered her and took her away - they would have to put her down at this rate.

"Gosh, you're bleeding! " Amelia almost had a heart attack upon seeing the injuries on her precious son.

"It's nothing, I'd just wash the wound right away with soap and warm water and watch for symptoms of CSD - cat spread disease," He said nonchalantly.

Half an hour later

Jasper found himself admitted to a hospital and given the best health care money could buy. The moment he had dismissed the idea of a hospital, his mother had thrown a fit.

So he had no choice but to come to the hospital so as not to die - like Micheal. Jasper was beginning to feel like he was now living under the shadows of Micheal.

"Don't do that, I don't want you to end up like Michael!" That was their usual excuse. Their overprotectiveness was bothering him. Sure, he was young but twenty-seven years of age was a grown man. He had to break out of this yoke sooner than later.

"How do you feel?" Scarlett who laid by his side asked. Of course, he was given a deluxe VIP room with a comfortable large bed, he might as well vacate here.

"I told you I'm fine," He repeated for the nth time. She has been giving him that sympathetic and concerned look for a while now.

"You know," She readjusted in his arms so she could look into his eyes while speaking, "I've been thinking about today's event and I can't help but think about the curse, could it be that -"

"It is not the curse," He dismissed that frivolous thought.

"If it's not the curse, then what is it?" Scarlett pressed, " Juliet was okay, even at dinner. Why did she turn out that way out of nowhere? Why was she intent on attacking you when we set on -"

"Scarlett!" he boomed.

She stilled.

Jasper closed his eyes and took a deep breath, "I'm sorry for yelling at you," He was not used to losing his temper, " But today's misfortune had nothing to do with the curse. It was just an unfortunate incident. Moreover, we truly never wanted to do this if not for the pressure from my parents. Just think of it as the universe telling us that it's not yet time,"

Scarlett breathed," I'm just scared. I don't want you to get hurt because of me and you know your parents would never - "

"We would not tell my parents about the curse, do you understand Scarlett?"

The girl bit on her lips, she gave him no reply.

"Scarlett?" He arched his brow, demanding an answer.

"Fine, I won't," She gave in, placing her head on his chest just as he ran his hand through her silky red hair.

"You don't have to worry about a thing baby girl, we'd figure this out together," He whispered and kissed her hair.

If only Scarlett had taken a look at Jasper that moment, she would have known he wasn't at peace; his eyes were clouded with thoughts.

He remembered the witch's word clearly,

"It might be months? A year? I don't know, but as long as the sand doesn't empty or the device cracks, you're safe,"

Had something happened to the hourglass?
