Peace in our Time

The year is around 1920 CE, in the city of Vienna.

John Layeville was walking around the lively streets.

" This place looks different, " said John.

" World War One never happened "

" That explains all the happy faces "

John sat down at a café, to enjoy some tea.

" What lovely weather "

Thunder roared, as the rain poured down.

" I spoke too soon… " said Moxon.

" Indeed, you did, " said John Layeville, Moxon's Master.

(Moxon is an A.I, made of nanobots, who helps John Layeville on his travels, and all the nanobots inhabit John's body.)

" May I join you? All the other seats have been taken "

John's breath left him for a second. For there stood a woman, whose beauty was beyond comprehension.

" I would be honored "

The woman smiled gratefully. She sat down, and ordered a cup of tea.

The sound of rain and sipping tea could be heard.

" Break the ice "

" How? "

" Ask her name? "

" Oh. How rude of me " said the woman with a smile; " my name is Elisabeth, but please: just call me Sisi "

John had not asked her name. But he also gave his own name.

A conversation followed, which ended with John saying:

" I am not a good man… "

" You were kind enough to let me sit by your table "

John giggled.

" Hardly a good deed "

" Perhaps " said Sisi, as she leaned back in her chair; " but a good deed, nonetheless "

" I was the cause of others dying " said John, after a pause.

" Master… "

Sisi paused, as she sipped her drink.

" I was a murderer… "

" I was an empress "

" What? "

" I'm sorry " said Sisi with a laugh; " I thought that we were talking about things we once were "

John was now the one to laugh.

" It can not be forgiven… nor forgotten… "

" Then - move forward "

John looked at the glowing woman, from whom oozed out charisma and confidence.

Sisi stood up. She put some money on the table, and was joined by Tjalfe and Røskva, as she continued her walk.

" She was something, " said Moxon.

" She was incredible, " said John with a cheerful smile.

Moxon opened a portal, and John Layeville now vanished from the peaceful land.
