That Night

(One month later)

Zak's POV

It's been one month since that day Calabrass told me to propose CeCe. From that day I'm trying to find a good idea to do it. Well I didn't used any stupid ideas to impress her in this one month, just learned more about her likes and dislikes and hobbies. I know plenty about her already because we're friends for atleast one year. But I want to make sure that everything is perfect for her. Yesterday I secretly brought a ring which cost me 2/3 of my savings of this month. Also with the help of Sassafras I was able to track down a bunch of oceanrose flowers. According to her this are very rare underwater flowers which blooms once in ten years. Also this flowers grow around the nests of giant see monsters. I had to fight an extra large one eyed green skinned squid to get this bunch. Even I practiced to pronounce her full name without mixing up syllables. The night tonight is very beautiful. It's a full moon. And also the sky is very clear. We are right now in the sea of Beru just a few miles far from Marituga. CeCe was looking very happy all day long. Just hope that bones don't attack us now. "Hey lad don't get nervous. She won't kill you if you propose her." Calabrass said with a little smirk. He voulentiered to stay in the cabin and not ruin the moment. "Yeah I will keep it in mind." I said with a small smile. Then I headed out of the cabin and headed to that part of deck where I knew CeCe would be. I hide the flowers under my jacket and grabbed the small box carrying that ring with my right hand. But when I reached in that part of deck I heard a male voice saying "princess Chrysta Coraline Lejune I know I am not buff enough to be like your family not popular nor organized but i want you to know that I love you and will you be my wife. Even if you reject me I will be your faithful friend." I recognised that voice. It was Steven's voice. Then I herd CeCe saying,"I love you too Steven and yes I will". My legs were shaking and I felt like someone ripped my heart out of my chest. I gathered my strength and peeked at them stealthy. But what I saw after that I wished that I didn't peeked. I saw CeCe kissing Steven passionately. She had her arms around his neck. Steven wrapped his left arm around her waist and his right hand was on CeCe's left cheek. I couldn't bear that sight and somehow made my way back to my cabin as silently as possible.

Calabrass's POV

I saw Zak storming inside the cabin. He didn't showed his face to me. Maybe he is trying to hide any signs of what he and CeCe were doing. I mean he was out for long enough. "So how it went captain?" I asked him in a cheerfully. He didn't turned back and was doing something in the bookshelf. "Hey Zak what happened? Did she reject you or what?" I asked being a little worried because he wasn't looking quite good. Then he turned towards me and said no. "So what happened then?" I asked again curiously. Zak looked at me this time and I saw tears forming in his eyes. Then he said,"She is engaged with Steven." And sat on his chair. He covered his face with his palms. I am sure that I heard a little sob. I can tell he is heart broken. "So what you're going to do now?" I asked him. "She is happy with him. I better not interfere between them. We will be still friends I believe. I must continue to find a way out of this triangle." He replied with an extremely shaky voice and showed a small smirk. But I can feel he is still heart broken."ok then. If you want to talk I am here." I said. I think I must give him some space. "Thanks Brass" he said and closed his eyes while laying his head on that seat.
