Chapter 5

"Excuse me? Which type of flower would you like to buy sir?"

Jungsik realized he was just standing there without saying anything only when the same voice asked again with a confused look.

"Ah... that... uhh... Flowers? Yeah, I wanted to buy flowers."

What was he even saying?

"Yes sir. I know because this is a flower shop and we have only flowers here. I mean, what type of flower you want so I can help you choose it from here," the person answered with a smile.

Yeah, that smile was what he had been wishing to see again. Can he call it being lucky? Because never expected for his wish to come true that soon, but in a more clearer and closer view of that smile along with the face that owns that smile.

"Oh, sorry. I was... umm..." he might be busy debating if he's really seeing things right or not that he almost forgot why he came here for.

"Uh, well, I think you're just confused which flower you should buy. Let me help you to choose it," the person smiled, leading Jungsik to the side where different flowers were kept in neat rows.

Jungsik quietly followed her. He chuckled a bit silently at the way the tip of her hair hanging down freely from her ponytail bounce to each sides while she walks.

"Cute," the word slipped from his lips before he could realize.

"Hmm? Cute? You mean the flowers?" the person paused her feet and turned back.

"Uh? Ah..! Yes... yes... the flowers... they are--" he thought he successfully found the excuse for the word he slipped but he should've also guessed his tongue might get stucked if he ever sees her looking at him with tilted head, just like now, "--are... cute," he continued what he left to say after a moment. But, it's not about the flower, again.

It's quite sad that she turned her face away to start walking towards the wooden flower racks, but the glimpse of relief that he didn't get caught helped.

When they stood in front of the wooden racks, he could feel the sweet scent from the flowers more. The shop unexpectedly felt so fresh and pleasant with the white painted walls giving another bright shades to the flowers in the racks.

"We usually keep these flowers ouside. But since we already closed the shop, we shifted them here. So we had to come till here," the person turned with a smile.

"Oh", Jungsik nooded his head, "I'm really sorry. I might have disturbed you."

"No. No. It's fine," she shook her head, the smile still on her lips.

Only if she knows what can that simple smile do to somebody who can easily get drown to it.

"So, here are the flowers. You can choose anything you like from here," she took a step away, letting him step forward to choose the flower, "Umm... If you don't mind, you can tell me for whom are you buying the flowers so I can help you choose.

Jungsik nodded when she asked, she might probably noticed him confused, every flower looked beautiful.

"Is it for your girlfriend?"

He paused to look at her. Out of the endless number of words, why it had to be 'girlfriend'?

"Ah, It's nothing. Sorry. I was just guessing since you seem to be thinking so much about it. Maybe it's a wrong guess?" she smiled awkwardly.

"It's fine. But it's for my mother. Today is her birthday," he said, but why does it felt like he just want to clarify himself that it's not for a girlfriend?

"Ah, mother? If it's for your mother then..." the person tapped her finger on her lips while her eyes roam through the flower racks. "Aha ! This!" she further took some steps backward towards a pink flower at the corner, "then you can give this to her. This would be perfect for you to give her."

"Yeah?" He looked at the flower, "Can I know why it would be perfect for my mother? Like, is there any good meaning behind it?"

"It does," she person smiled, "It's called 'pink carnation'. It symbolizes pride and beauty. It has many varieties but this pink carnation symbolizes the love of a woman or mother's love. So it's a good flower as gifts for mothers," she explained while touching the patals of the flower gentle with her hand that definitely looked more beautiful than the flower. Her glowing eyes while she explained clearly shows how professional she is and how much she must've love her work.

"So, are you going to buy this flower or do you want me to show you other flowers?"

Jungsik blinked his eyes that he almost forgot to blink, "Uh? No. I'll take this. This is just... beautiful." But his eyes were still on those hands, wishing if he knew how they might feel to hold.

"Alright. Then, please wait outside. I'll pack this and give you."

"Thank you so much," Jungsik bowed a bit before he walk towards the front to wait.

"Thank you for buying from us," she smiled and gave the neatly packed bouquet to him.

Jungsik walked towards his car holding the bouquet. He kept looking at the bouquet several times with a never fading smile, until he realized something...

"I should've asked her name too."
