End of a Timeline

Adrian, Amora and Shogeki all sat on the edge of a building quietly for some time, staring at the red sky and clouds.

"Perhaps in the other timeline... we all live quite happily." Shogeki broke the silence, fiddling with his hand scars.

Amora laughed a little, her hoarse voice not sounding threatening for once.

"I doubt it. I'm sure there's still something wrong between the three of us." She spoke.

"Maybe... but maybe it all ends up alright in the end, unlike this one." Adrian said, following it up with a small, quiet laugh.

"I'd say this is an ideal end for our story." Amora spoke, also laughing a little. "After all, we don't end up killing each other, we just cease to exist, and get taken into whatever shitty life we have next."

The three of them went silent, listening to the wind and the swirling black void growing in the sky.

"How long do we think we have?" Shogeki asked, picking at his nails now.

"Less than ten minutes I'm sure." Adrian responded placing his hand over his face, rubbing his eyes before brushing through his hair.

Minutes passed with pointless chatter as the swirling black void expanded even more. It began to consume the sky above and grew closer.

Amora smiled a little as it did, a single tear falling down her cheek as the area around her grew completely silent and dark.

Amora stood a short distance away from Shogeki, her blades at the ready. Her left eye continued to glow red, while her right eye, the eye with the black sclera, was glowing white.

"I see tell my eye element no longer works on you. I wonder why that is." Shogeki laughed. "Perhaps you're no longer human, or perhaps you can feel no fear."

"I do not fear you." Is all that Amora replied with, her knuckles turned a pale white as her grip tightened on her blade.

"Have you ever wondered why I did all this to you? Why I targeted you and those you kept close to you?"

"Why should I care? Once one of us dies, what does it matter?" She asked, but deep within, the person she used to be wanted answers as to why she had to endure so much pain.

"Well, you see, I did all of this because of my father. When I was young, I clung desperately to my mother. Of course I had to, as my father was never there for me like she was." He fumbled with his blade, still smiling, Amora wanted to move, but the same person within him wanted to listen, as if wanting a reason for everything.

"When he was around, he rambled on constantly about how you were stolen from him. No matter what I did, he never noticed me, he just worried about finding and killing you to make Leon and Alexis hurt."

Following this was a brief silence, as if Shogeki expected Amora to respond, but when she didn't, he continued.

"When he found out you were taken, he took out his anger on Adrian, my mother and I. Adrian and I got the least of it however, as my mother was thrown down the stairs and beaten until she died. Take a guess what I did after that." He traced his finger over his blade. "I killed him with a knife from our kitchen, and then I burnt our house to the ground. I left without even looking back, taking Adrian with me for a while."

"What has any of this got to do with me or my parents?" Amora asked, annoyance in her voice.

"Because you escaped my father, he killed my mother, and I killed him. It is because of you that this evil within me was born, and why I did what I did. You are the reason your parents are dead, and you are the reason your friends are dead." He said, a smile forming on his face once more, the same manic one as usual.

"Is that so?" Amora asked, a slight smile forming on her face as well. "Or is that just an excuse to do cruel things from a man-child who never learned to grow or shut the fuck up?"

She suddenly appeared in front of Shogeki, getting a quick slash off near his neck. Since he wasn't expecting this from her, he stumbled backward for a moment, as she sliced again, trying to hit his neck, but this time he blocked with his blade.

"Now that was a good attack." He remarked, pushing her away and zigzagging toward her, his blade shimmering in the sunlight.

Flowers became crushed under his footsteps, and the gentle breeze blew past, causing his hair to flow gently.

He swung his blade quickly, clashing into Amora's right blade as she was rushing at him. The impact of his blade shattered Amora's into fragments. It took her a moment to switch hands, and during this he jabbed at her chest. She pulled herself backward, so the blade only managed to get a small poke into her flesh.

She threw her broken right blade to the side and switched her left blade to her right hand. She swung a couple times at him, and once more they clashed blades. Shogeki twisted his body as he rushed back and then quickly ran back at her and swung at her, and she remained almost still as she swung her blade around.

The two continued to clash blades before leaping backward and rushing up to each other and continuing to clash.

Amora could tell something was wrong with her right blade as well, but she was uncertain what it was, nor could she waste any time focusing on it.

Shogeki's smile widened, as he too seemed to notice something was off with her blade.
