The Truth

As Steve laid in bed that night he couldn't help but think about the promise he had made to Sharon. Was he really going to be able to hold himself back from seeing him before he got married? There was a slight chance that he wouldn't which was what scared him, he didn't want to cheat on Sharon not after he got her pregnant. He sighed tossing and turning in bed then finally deciding to sit up. He realized that he wasn't getting any sleep tonight, so he carefully got out of bed trying not to wake Sharon up, and made his way to the kitchen. He rummaged through the fridge taking out the milk pouring himself some in a glass then proceeded to heat it up in the microwave.

Just when he was taking the cup out his cellphone began to ring, he turned to look at the clock on the stove and it read 12:30 at night. Now who would be calling at this time, he took his phone out the caller I.D reading Tony's name. He wasn't sure if he should answer it but after hesitating for a few seconds he answered it anyway. "Steve" the brunette slurred, he was drunk. The super soldier sighed "Tony, what's going on are you ok?" there was a small pause on the other end and he heard some things falling "I…I need you" Steve didn't know if he should believe him or not. He was drunk and maybe by tomorrow he won't remember any of this conversation.

"Tony ok why don't you go to bed. You're drunk and you don't know what you're saying, "the super-soldier instructed hoping that he would listen to him and hang up the phone and go to bed. The last thing that he wanted was to complicate things even more. They each had partners, their time together was long from over now. There was no hope for them anymore. "No Steve listen to me I love you ok…I never stopped loving you", "I'll be right over just please stop drinking." He wasn't sure what he was doing. He had no business going over there with him, but something was telling him to go.

Sharon was standing behind the super soldier, she had entered the kitchen just when he answered the phone yet he hadn't noticed. Steve turned around about to leave when he bumped into Sharon, she stood there with her arms folded in front of her chest angry "Now where the hell do you think you're going?", "Sharon…I…I'm sorry but I really have to go, Fury, he….he said he needed my help on something" he lied, she couldn't believe that he was lying to her face after she heard the whole conversation between them but before she could say anything he was already out the door.

Steve was at the Stark tower before he knew it letting himself in, he went straight to Tony's lab knowing that he was done there. Steve was sure that Tony had stopped drinking when he didn't see any alcoholic drink in his bar. Guess he was wrong, he punched in the code that he still remembered and immediately spotted the brunette stumbling through his lab. The super soldier practically ran towards him before he could fall grabbing him by the waist, Tony looked up at the person who was holding him and smiled when he saw that it was Steve, for a moment they just stared into each other's eyes until Tony finally spoke.

"Steve you came" he leaned up and kissed him, the super-soldier was surprised and it took him a second to respond when he just kissed him back. Steve wrapped his arms around his neck, he had no idea how much he had missed being like this with him. Sharon soon came to the super soldier's mind thinking about how he was betraying her and it made him feel awful. He quickly pulled away from him leaning his forehead to his "Tony, I'm getting married and you have Pepper we can't be doing this to them. "The mechanic shook his head staring up at his ocean blue eyes that he could always get lost in. Steve pulled away from him putting one of Tony's arm around his neck helping him up to his room.

They were able to make it to his room safely without waking up Pepper or Aurora, the super-soldier laid him down on the bed taking his shoes off. He went on and tucked him into bed as if he was a child, just as he was about to leave Tony grabbed his arm "Stay" the super-soldier turned to look at him thinking about the possibilities if he stayed. What he was going to tell Sharon or Pepper, he couldn't stay the best thing to do was for them to continue going their separate ways like they've been doing "I can't, I'm sorry. "Tony pulled him down toward him and kissed him once more but this time Steve pulled away from him much quicker "No Tony, please stop doing this to yourself to me"

"Why you don't love me anymore?" he whispered. This was becoming much more harder than what Steve thought. It was better before he saw him again, the separation between them was a good thing or at least that's what he thought. "I'm getting marry, I don't want to disappoint Sharon because of you" the brunette pulled his hand away sitting up in his bed abruptly only making him feel dizzy. He composed himself glancing up at the super-soldier "Then why the hell are you here?" he began to raise his voice, Steve ushered for him to be quiet but who can hear them when the Stark tower is huge.

"Because I thought you needed help, now I know it was a bad idea to come" he replied leaving his room and down the elevator. He was about to leave the tower when he heard a small little voice coming from behind him. "Steve, do you really like my daddy?"Steve walked over to her and kneel down in front of her smiling "Look darling, it's kind of hard to explain. Your daddy is with your mommy so it doesn't matter. "Aurora looked at him strangely again like the first day they met, he had mentioned the same name to her 'mommy' and just as she was about to correct him her daddy stopped her.

But there was no stopping her now "Mommy? I don't have a mom", "But isn't Pepper your mother?" he questioned her. Ari shook her head assuring him that Pepper wasn't her mother "No, daddy said I have two dads but he's in heaven. "The super-soldier stood up straight again, thinking about what Aurora had just said. So if Pepper isn't Aurora's mother then who is? He thought to himself "How old are you, sweetie?", "Six and a half"all this information was still processing through his head putting two and two together thinking about the possibility of Ari being his daughter. Daughter?He had a kid? With Tony???
