Inner child

The boys left for the venue in an hour sharp. Sayesha went to the washroom, splashed water on her face, combed her now dried hair and made a messy bun.

She didn't enjoy putting on makeup so she simply applied a pink shade lip balm and a minimal amount of face powder.

Then she again looked at herself in the mirror,

"I look okay, right? Ahh girl you just have to take him to a hospital! Cut the drama!"

She left her cabin and dialed Taehyung's number as she was walking through the hallway.

"Hello?"

"Tae, h-hi."

Taehyung's voice always gave her chills. Be it on her earphones back then or on the phone right now.

"Are you ready? We've to leave in 5 minutes."

"I am."

"Oh already?"

"Yeah I mean I know you like things to be done on time so.."

Sayesha blushed a little but jerked it off immediately.

"Haha, that is so thoughtful of you. I've sent the bodyguards upstairs. I'll see you in the parking lot."

"Right. See you."

They hung up.

In the Parking lot:

When Taehyung reached the parking lot, he saw Sayesha waiting near the car. She was busy checking his medical file while playing with her beautiful black locks. The messy bun added on grace to her beauty. A thing about Sayesha that probably only Taehyung had noticed so far was that whenever she concentrated on anything, she frowned and her lips made a pout involuntarily.

Taehyung shook his head melting over her innocence.

"Ahem, is everything okay, Doctor?," he asked walking towards her.

"Oh hey! Haha yes, I was just checking," Sayesha chuckled.

Taehyung was wearing a baggy sweatshirt, paired with a faded blue jeans. His bangs were covering his forehead which made him look extremely adorable yet hot!

"Shall we? I'll drive," she asked.

"Sure," he replied and sat on the passenger's seat.

Sayesha started driving. They were being followed by the assistant and the bodyguards in another car.

For a few minutes, there was an awkward silence between them. They never really got a chance to talk so, it was justified. Sayesha was driving and Taehyung was looking out of the window. After much inner conflict, he gathered the courage to initiate a conversation.

"So, Jiminie told me you're from Daegu too."

"I am. I came to Seoul when I joined the university."

"Oh. I miss home very much. Wish I could visit more often."

"Home misses you too. Everyone there is so proud of you and Yoongi oppa," Sayesha said looking at him with the corner of her eyes.

A deep sigh escaped Taehyung's mouth.

"I just want to make the people I love proud. That's all I want. All this fame, attention and success is redundant if it doesn't make them happy, you know? I miss everything so much. All the places, the family outings, my friends."

"I feel you. Home is home. I miss going to Duryu Park so much. I used to go there when I felt low," Sayesha said.

"Oh yes that! What about the Apsan Park? I used to go there with my eomma sometimes," Taehyung said and a gleaming smile flashed on his face.

"Oh really? That must be a sweet memory. And the Donghwa temple always gives me peace," she said.

"Ahh that, yeah. I still remember visiting there with my halmuhni," he said.

His voice cracked a bit as he mentioned his grandmother. Taehyung was brought up by his grandmother and was deeply attached to her. He lost her in 2016. It wasn't easy for Taehyung to cope with her demise and the vacancy she left behind. He still missed her everyday.

Sayesha noticed the change in his voice and expression.

"I'm sure your halmuhni is very happy to see how far you've come. She loves you so much."

Taehyung looked at her, nodded and smiled faintly.

"Yeah..."

Sayesha smiled back. Both of them got nostalgic and kept talking about home, sharing memories of childhood. Like two old friends catching up on each other's lives after years.

Sometimes, we meet someone and just connect. It doesn't require conscious efforts. Taehyung was a reserved person but with Sayesha, it was different. He was eager get to know her and let her know about him. It didn't once feel like it was their first ever proper conversation.

When they finally reached the hospital premises, their car was allowed in. Sayesha asked Taehyung to put on a mask so that he doesn't draw unnecessary attention. Sayesha parked the car and as the five of them advanced towards the concerned hospital wing, Sayesha saw a middle aged man selling balloons and cotton candy near the cafeteria.

There were many kids sorrouding the trolly giggling and hopping in ecstacy. Sayesha smiled at the sight. She was all about little things. She loved balloons, chocolates, fairylights, books and so much more.

In the hospital:

Sayesha and Taehyung went inside the doctor's chamber while the bodyguards and the assistant stayed outside. The doctor examined Taehyung's foot and asked him a few questions.

"So Mr. Kim, are you facing any problem?"

"None as such, doctor. I feel fine."

At last, the bandage got removed. Taehyung squealed with joy. His boxy smile made him look like a 5 year old. Sayesha was looking at the grown up child in disbelief. He started shaking his leg out of happiness but the doctor stopped him.

"Be gentle, Mr. Kim. The bandage has just come off."

"Oh yes. Sorry, doctor," Taehyung said getting flustered over his own childlike behaviour. Meanwhile, Sayesha was trying to hold back her laughter.

The doctor then started telling them about the precautions they had to take.

But all of a sudden, Taehyung said,

"Umm Sayesha I think I am done here. I'll be waiting for you by the car."

"But Tae, the doctor is still telling a few things we need to take care of and your medicines have..."

She was cut mid-sentence.

"I'll forget about all this anyway but I know it'll be managed because I..we..we have you. I'm not feeling good here. I want to get some air. You come downstairs when you're done," he insisted.

"Ahh okay then. Take them with you. I'll be back in a while," Sayesha said standing up.

Taehyung immediately wore his mask and reached for the door.

"Okay! Thanks a lot, doctor. Bye!"

"Careful, Tae. Walk gently!," Sayesha said from behind.

"Yes yes," he replied and darted out of the chamber.

Sayesha shook her head and continued talking to the doctor. She asked about the medicines and all the precautions. She wasn't taking any chances with Taehyung.

After 15 minutes, she came out of the hospital building and saw their car parked infront of the entrance but what she saw after that made her heart sink to her knees.

Taehyung was standing by the car holding a bunch of colorful balloons and some cotton candy. Sayesha's jaw dropped. She covered her face with her hands while the assistant and the bodyguards looked at them smiling.

"Tae, what..."

She could barely speak.

"Well, let's just say that the girl who handles everything so well deserves to be treated well. She is extremely busy so I'm just trying to remind her of her inner child," Taehyung said with the most charming smile.

Sayesha's heart raced. She didn't know what to say on this gesture of Taehyung. It was so heartwarming. She was blushing uncontrollably and this time, she couldn't even hide it.

Taehyung leaned in and looked straight into her eyes.

"So, are you taking this or shall I finish the cotton candy myself?"

Sayesha laughed and took the balloons and cotton candy. Needless to say that seeing her smile made Taehyung's day even better.

"Allow me to drive, madam. Sit and enjoy for once. You don't do that very often," he said.

He opened the car door for her, she was all flushed by now. They sat in the car and drove back to Big Hit chatting.

When they reached, many cars were parked in the parking lot which meant the boys had come back from the inspection. Sayesha told the assistant to get the medicines and the bodyguards to accompany Taehyung up to the dorm. As he was leaving, Sayesha said,

"I had the most beautiful time even if it was just a hospital visit."

"And I had a beautiful time seeing you happy," he said taking off his mask. "See you soon."

Sayesha nodded and grinned like an idiot as he walked away with the bodyguards. She turned back to the car to take her bag and the balloons but a thought swept the smile off her face.

Her position as BTS's manager held a lot of responsibilty. She wanted to push every thought that wasn't related to her work. It can be said that she was now afraid to feel.
