Chapter-15

None of us said a single word that evening and soon the moon was up shining in the light it borrowed. I was still taken aback with the events that occurred today and I was looking at the moon through the small window present in the cell where the head's wife was killed. Lee was changing his bandages and cleaning up his wounds again using the ointment box which one of the guards got for him. So much had happened and there was not a single message from the king. The gate opened and the head entered again. I squirmed under his angry gaze. He went straight towards Lee and bent down to look at his now bandaged hand. "After such a long wait, your brother finally gave you to me for one whole day and one whole night.", he said gravely and then laughed. "The little surprise of the day is over and I hope you two are over it, because a new surprise awaits you," the head said looking at Lee and me. His face showed an expression that clearly said no mercy! I was scared of the next painful surprise in store for us. The guards were more anxious than the two of us because they somewhere knew what was the surprise. Head signalled one of his guards to pick the sword. He did and picked it up but what I noticed was the shaking hands of the guard. He was scared and contemplating his actions again and again but he was bound by his duties towards the senior. He picked up the sword which looked too heavy in his hands and he came and stood behind the head waiting for the next command. The head must have also noticed his hesitation and so he asked the other guard to take the sword from him. I was confused as to why the guards couldn't use their own sword when it occurred to me that this was the sword, they used to kill the head's wife. It was clean of blood but it still had the stench of merciless murder. He pointed towards me and I was not scared of death but I was scared of that stench. I moved back a little but the guard held me tight. "She is not the one who needs to be punished.", Lee yelled. "She is not being majesty, only if you cooperate.", the head said mocking respect. I could see feel that the payment of my bail would not be something that either of us would like. "What kind of cooperation do you need?", Lee asked with clenched teeth. The head signalled the guard again who raised his sword to my throat. I could feel the fear rising now. Not because of the sword at my throat but the fear of what his next words would be. The head looked at Lee and said, "All you have to do my lord is hold her hands.". I could see the fear rising in Lee's eyes. "What do you know?", Lee asked. The head laughed. "I just know something is there but what is it exactly I don't. And honestly, I was just playing on my observation but your reaction cleared my doubts.", he said with a smirk. At this point, I was a bit relieved because holding hands was not a big deal. And I wanted to know the secret behind this as well. I looked at Lee who was thinking so hard and putting my life in jeopardy for such a small thing. The head coughed as a signal and the guard cut my skin a little from the side of my neck. Lee looked up to see me controlling my tears and the blood rushing down from the side of my neck. "I will make sure that you regret doing this to us.", Lee said. The head laughed and gestured him to come forward and do as told. Lee came forward and in a hushed tone he said to me, "I know it is not time yet, I am sorry.". I couldn't get what he meant.

He held my hand and at first, it felt good but then I saw a girl. She looked like me. And she was standing in a beautiful garden and there was a gate which in bold letters said HEAVEN. I could feel my head getting heavy and there was a stampede of memories and they came so fast that I couldn't comprehend a meaning out of them. It confused and tired me so much that the last thing I remember seeing was Lee dressed like some sort of god before fainting.
