Explanation

As Rapham floats in soul form, he reads the room. The atmosphere was solemn as everyone stares intently at him. One of the beings walks up to him, flaring his aura. "Hello Rapham. My name is Apollyr. I am the God of Enam and Earth. I am also the God of Strength."

After speaking, Apollyr returns to his throne across from his uncles. The throne room they were in was not his domain, so he would not talk brazenly. Even Gods had a hierarchy to follow. Showing respect for his Uncle, Apollyr made his introduction and moved out of the way.

As Rapham feels the presence of the two Gods, he can not help but to be overwhelmed. He looks up to them, questions evident all over his face. What need would two major Gods need for him? When he was on Enam, sure he was a King, but Kings at most have power equal to a demigod or a minor god. These gods were on the threshold of being ancient primordials. Why would they summon a mortals soul?

"Good evening Rapham." Hades begins by saying. "I am the God of The Underworld, Lord Hades of the Abyss. Usually, for this sort of event my nephew and I would send prophets, oracles, and our underlings. Today, however is special. Your decisions henceforth will determine the lives and fates of two worlds. To you, what I say next will probably be most important though. Your wife and daughter have re-incarnated into Enam yet again. Usually, the fates would not allow me to say such a thing as such a thing is against the God-Code, but such a situation as we find ourselves in allows us to relay such information. Knowing that your wife and daughter have reincarnated, now... Let me tell you. They are in danger yet again. I can give you the tools necessary to save them, but it is for a price. Are you willing to accept responsibility for the fate of Enam once more: King Rapham, leader of the Nightwalkers and Dragonkiller?"

Silence ensued as Rapham digested the situation. These Gods were offering him a second chance to save his family. He wanted to say yes, but the responsibility of a whole world would be in jeopardy. He could read between the lines there. That meant that he would once more have to fight against an entity that could threaten billions of lives. He ponders in silence as he looks back and forth between the two gods. He then decides to ask a question. A logical question in this situation.

"Why me?"

Apollyr and Hades shared a glance and Hades nodded to Apollyr. This Apollyrs time to speak as Apollyr was the God decreed by Zeus to save Enam from the Wicked God. Given permission to speak, Apollyr looks at Rapham and begins to explain the rules of death for mortals.

"You are an anomaly in the pathway for death. Usually, soul memories are wiped away after they re-incarnate, and each soul is given ten reincarnations. With each reincarnation, every soul is given a chance after death. Re-incarnate, or get a verdict for their fates. Egregious acts are punished, while righteous, selfish, and kind acts are rewarded. The soul is then placed on a scale. If the soul weighs well into the 'Light' side, they are given a pass to heaven. If a soul weighs on the 'evil' side, they go to hell. If a soul stays in the middle, their sense of self is erased and they are sent to roam the underworld for eternity."

Hearing this explanation, Rapham goes into deep thought. So many situations pop into his mind that he can't help but think about. What if someone was murdered like he had been before? What about stillborn children? Abortions... As these thoughts roam in his head, Apollyr smiles and nods. "That is why souls are given 10 chances. Some souls are evil. Some are light. Others just exist."

After listening to Apollyr's explanation, Rapham had a theory. He was musing to himself as he looks up to the two Gods. "Lord Hades and Lord Apollyr, do you wish me to do this task because I have knowledge of both Enam and Eart? I am assuming the reason why I have been chosen is that there is an issue relating to both worlds. Since I am an 'anomaly', and remember both worlds, that is why I have been picked? Also, I must assume that this task is something only a mortal can do, otherwise milords would have already done the task themselves."

When Rapham was finished speaking, the two Gods looked at him in surprise. It was quite impressive for a mortal to make such wide assumptions with so little information. "Indeed, child." Hades begins as he looks down from his throne. Hades waves his hand, and the projection of an obese man laying in a gaming capsule could be seen. Beside the man were 6 bottles of Jack Daniels, and a picture of a group of soldiers smiling at a camera. "The man in this projection is Staff Sergeant Daniel Rogers. He was a war veteran like yourself. He could not handle the pressures of war, so he prayed to the Gods to let him rest peacefully. For his brave actions in combat, we sent him to heaven. What you see that he is in is a gaming capsule. You were last on earth back in the 1940's, here today it is December 20th, 2021. In the world of earth today, they have these things called video games. My idiot nephew decided to run an experiment by giving Earth the capability to warp to Enam through this game."

As Rapham hears all of this, his mind was spinning. The last time he was on earth, the technology there was already crazy. Now, it was on a whole new level. All the crazy things he saw he never would have imagined possible. "You want me to take over... that body?" He says, looking at the morbidly obese man. It was obvious the man did nothing but eat and drink. To him, the thought of having such a body was repulsive. Apollyr laughs at his reaction and looks at the man. "You can always work out." He jokes as he leans back in his throne.
