Apollyr's pride

Chapter 20: Apollyr's pride

While the Earth was trembling with the changes it was undergoing, Apollyr was watching with a sorrowful expression. No one in the Heavens expected such circumstances to come about. What was a God? A being of pride and strength that mortals come to in times of crisis. Due to Zeus's decree, Apollyr could not interfere with the status quo of the two worlds he oversaw. For the first time in his existence, Apollyr felt helpless.

"I should go down there," Apollyr says in anger as he watches the battles that were unfolding on the world mirror. Modern weapons mixed with the mana from Enam had made the Earth invincible against the kingdoms of Enam. Everywhere the forces of Earth went, their Armies would trample over the Kingdoms of Enam. Very few places left on the supercontinent were under their own sovereignty.

Apollyr watches the scenes in front of him with distraught prevalent on his face. In the last week of the world's Enam and Earth fighting, he had seen more heartbreak than the last 1,000 years of his existence. His eyes keep going back to the scene of a six-year-old girl, her head separated from her shoulders. Such an innocent little princess, and her life taken by such needless means.

Liara and Sharia do their best to comfort their lover. He had been there with them for so long, they wished to be there for him. Reclining in the chair, Liara, Sharia, and Apollyr relax together. "My Love, there was no way you could have prevented the Demons from performing that ritual," Liara says as she runs her hands along Apollyr's chest soothingly. Today, Liara was wearing a skin-tight sheer dress that accentuates all her curves, the only fabric keeping her skin from his was a thin line of silk. Apollyr could feel every curve of her body, and even her lower lips were seductively rubbing against his arm. Sharia was wearing a bra with panties only to match with Liara. Both Sharia and Liara wanted to keep Apollyr distracted, and this was the only way they knew how. Liara's petite body shows all her glory, and Apollyr could barely keep his eyes away from either of his wives.

"This is wrong!" Apollyr suddenly yells out of nowhere. Both of his wives had been close to succeeding in getting his pants undone, but Apollyr did not let them. "People are dying right now!" He yells. "I am the man to blame for this. I caused the Earth and Enam to merge. I gave Earth space travel information, and that led to these demons finding out about these worlds. This death, this destruction, this war… It is all my fault. I do not deserve to be a God." He says gently as tears form in his eyes.

A god was crying.

No one in the room could believe their eyes when they saw Apollyr crying. Not only was it rare for a God to show emotion, but it was also rare for them to let tears fall. Liara and Sharia, the two women that had spent the most time with Apollyr, were shocked. "He's crying," Sharia says as she looks at her husband. She had not known how badly this war was affecting her husband. The result was clear now. He was a mess.

Immediately after Apollyr begins to cry, Hades appears. He had been on his way to annoy Apollyr about when Apollyr would give him a great-nephew or niece. As soon as Hades sees the tears, he walks up, and slaps the other God. "SILENCE!" He commands. Instantly, his power as an elder god shows, everyone in the room bows as the pressure threatened to bend everyone's knees. The only two beings still standing were Apollyr and Hades. Hades looks down at Apollyr. "Better to teach the boy now, rather than later." He says with a grimace. Knowing that he was going to suffer backlash for the information he was about to tell Apollyr, Hades did not care. He was the God of the Underworld; a little backlash would not hurt him too badly. Persephone might be a little pissed, but overall Hades would not care about the consequences.

"Boy, what I am about to tell you would have been something that happened 1,000 years in the future anyways, and technically I am not allowed to tell you, but fuck it." Hades flips the fates off as he looks in the corner. "The earth and Enam would have merged regardless of your actions." He growls, looking at his nephew. "Every god that has control of more than one planet has all their planets merge no matter what acts each planet undergoes. It is part of how we manage the balance of power."

As Hades drops the bombshell of truth, Apollyr looks up at his uncle, a shine that had not been there before had returned. Then, the mood went sour again as Hades slapped Apollyr. "You cried over mortals, boy. Let me never see such weakness again. These mortals have ten chances at life. You have one. Remember that before you do anything rash. You are a God, a powerful deity that is the pride of Zeus. You had better act like it boy. There are spies in place all over this castle, and Olympus." Finishing speaking, Hades eyes glow dark as he turns around. Shadows engulf the entire room. No one was powerful enough to stand against Hades' onslaught. "For the rest of you, if you look down on my nephew, you will wish you were in heaven. My nephew here is one of the strongest God's. You would do well to remember that. "Hades says as he disappears without a trace.

Apollyr looked at the castle in the distance as Hades left. "Son of Zeus, huh?" He muses to himself.

Deciding on something in a split second, Apollyr walks to the back of his throne room. His wives look at each other in concern. The last time Apollyr had gone to his treasure vault, he had given earth the capability to cross dimensional warp. "Babe, what are you doing?" Liara says as she looks at the back of her lover.

Apollyr just gives his wife a smirk as he walks to his vault. "You shall see."
