Chapter twenty-six

Days later a group of doctors arrived at the school. They brought a government permit to perform CE tests. One by one they called the list to do them in the coliseums, similar to the entrance exams. And they were only for freshmen.

After we took the tests, the teacher reported.

-This is ordered by senior staff, since there are doubts that arose after the test, but what's more, nothing will change, there is no record of anyone doing now what they didn't do in 5 years.

For doing this test we were not given a class and we all were free. Alison went to train with the 23, from the state schools and I was guided to lie down, but almost half an hour later, Liz called me.

-Luan...Alison is in the nurse's office apparently Adrian made a serious injury to her arm.

-Mmm, ok, I'll go see him in a little while.

-Just try to get him away from Adrian. That's all.

-Because he can control himself.

-I don't think I should tell you this, but what the hell. Hours ago I sent Alison a picture of Samantha. Adrian did that to her, to annoy him, because he has a certain interest.

Luan was a little upset when he saw it, because of this kind of aggression.

-Is she an animal or what?

-I don't know, it just prevents them from fighting. I sent him the same picture of Alison, and I don't know if he's seen it yet, but erase it, just in case, I'll talk to him myself, and try to calm him down.

⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡

Luan went to the infirmary to see Alison.

Apparently no one was there, but she heard voices. Santiago and Alison were sitting in the chairs in the infirmary.

- Alison, we go back to the place where we first met.

-Yes, but aren't you ashamed of the way you were that day?

-I'm still embarrassed to remember, but you're the only one who knows.

-Please stop talking about it.

-We're friends, aren't we?

-Yes, but I don't like that kind of talk.

-I'm glad you've adjusted better to school, and that you have friends. But the only thing I've always wondered is why you and Adrian got so upset, I thought you were friends.

-I think it was because of that, but it caused everything

-He caused it all.

-Yes, he took advantage of...

At that very moment the nurse came in and surprised the boy. While they were talking, he was able to remove the photo in time, and left the cell phone in place. Immediately they both listened and their conversation ended.

-Do you feel bad, young man?

-No, I just came to find a friend.

She had two towels in her hand. It seemed that blood had splashed on both of them in their uniforms.

Santiago came out, and saw that Luan was there.

-Alison is your friend, she's here in the infirmary.

-Don't worry, I'm going. He came out of the infirmary with a few questions on his mind.

He felt confused and went to the cafeteria. There Santiago appeared again.

-What is wrong with you? -Why did you go out like that?

-I didn't know Alison had more friends in second grade, and they were so close.

-He was in high school and came in the afternoons to pick up his brother. Until one day he started training with us, he seemed like just another student.

-Why do Alison and Adrian get along so badly?

-It was because he used it to attract girls, and he almost succeeded, but Alison got away from him. And neither of them listened to him, besides he has always been a pervert, women are disgusted by a guy like that.

-Okay, another thing, I don't understand what's going on with the 12 of you, there's some division between you, by the time I get to her training, I'll notice that.

-Let's say yes. The whole sophomore group is. Between Snaider and me, although I'm left with the feeling that he's retired.

-Why?

-You are quite inquisitive...

-Hey...sorry. I...

-Anyway, I'll answer you, Snaider and I were friends, but after a while we became rivals since we entered the school, we were assigned to room 1.

The best student of this school, in these three years assures, a place in a private university in the country, but in third year the best, has the possibility to study in another country, if he wants. With respect to the presidency, everything is free for that person, and all your work team. Although only Snaider and Hana seemed to be the only ones, they were helped by the third-years and a few second-years.

-Free, everything?

-They give you everything and you can even ask for things, but this is according to your performance, if you fail in your management they take you out of the job.

-I see...

-Not that I need everything the school gives me, but the people in my work group do. It's like a job, so to speak, but it's pretty heavy.

-Alison feels good about it... divided between you and her brother.

-I never asked her what she thought, but we're still close friends.

-Well, a year ago Alison was training with all the freshmen.

-Why did you make enemies with Snaider?

-I became his shadow, he was always a freshman, I was second in school, in all the tests and exams they took. I even lost the election with him, everyone started to make fun of me because of that, while he was advancing I was stagnating, so I decided to make my own way and with a group from my classroom I created another second year side.

-Yes

Santiago got up from his chair and with a gesture said goodbye to Luan, he nodded and went to the bedrooms.

...............

Alison left the infirmary and went to the bedroom, went into her room and saw Liz waiting for him at the door.

-Hello.

-Hi...hi Liz.

-You must talk to Samantha, you must become friends with her again.

-She's with Adrian, and it's best to avoid her.

-He's blackmailing her and he bit her on the neck.

Alison, a little confused by what her partner said, walked over to her.

-Really? -I'm going to talk to her.

-The best thing you can do is tell the principal. He recorded all the conversations he had with Samantha. You, being the victim, should talk to him.

She showed him the picture of what Adrian did to her partner. And he tried to leave immediately, but she stopped him.

-Alison, if you go on time, you'll be expelled, I doubt you'll talk to him alone, please calm down. Think things through. I know that little by little you've had to face human emotions, and you don't understand it well, right now you're angry, like when Snaider threw you in the pool, but you can control yourself. And think about your two companions, after all you are going to leave everything behind.

She stopped him, just long enough for him to calm down and stayed with him until he lay down on the bed.

...…. …. ...… ...

Hours later, after talking to Liz, someone knocked on the door.

Immediately Alison opened the door.

-Hello Alison, I see that you are still awake, as you will see most are supporting Adrian, they feel somewhat diminished by your presence, but anyway in two days there will be a meeting about it, you don't have to leave, both me and your brother always wanted you to be in this competition.

-Okay... I understand, I would like this to be to judge Adrian, if you don't do it, I will call all the first year classes.

-Why, did he do something else to you?

-He bit a classmate's neck and is blackmailing her.

-Another girl problem?

-She's the second highest-scoring freshman.

-She's close to you, right?

-Yes, he convinced her to do certain things, and he recorded everything they talked about to the point where he could blackmail her.

-Okay, I'll start checking the cameras and give you some facts. To know what will be done with it.

-Ok.

..... …. …. … ..... ….

The next morning Alison left first thing in the room. He must have been angry about something.

As I walked through the halls I heard comments from all the rooms.

-Alison is being taken out of the twelve.

And they had even posted a pamphlet about the division of the sophomore group, the title read, Snaider vs.

I understood at the time that he was upset about something else. As I was reading, someone came up to me and asked.

-You know what's wrong with Alison, they say she was taken out of the twelve.

I looked at her and it was Alejandra, the representative from room 1 of the first year.

-Hey... I heard a lot of things, but I don't think he'll quit.

-Well, it's not just that, they say that last year, Adrian and Alison had a fight outside of school, in a public place in the city.

-I'm sorry, have you heard why?

-According to what they say, they were training and fighting seriously. The sophomores prefer to take the freshman out, rather than someone from their class.

-Thank you for the information.

-Ah... congratulations on your victory.

Again I was happy to hear you address me. I felt my heart racing a bit. I thought maybe I could get her attention with the help of Alison and said goodbye to her.

-Eh.... goodbye.

After that little conversation many thoughts came to me. If maybe I kept getting better I could try to get closer to her and maybe be a couple, but first I should solve the problems of now.

I arrived at the room in the middle of my thoughts. Alison was sitting at the window.

I went to my station and Liz was watching me.

-You're going to get a headache from all the thinking.

-What do you think you should do?

-Tell Alison everything.

-I think he already knows.

-He needs to know what is being rumored.

.. … .. …. … … .. . . . .

When we left class I went to look for him.

-Alison, there's something I need to tell you.

-You can tell me later, but first you have to go to the nurse's office and ask for a developmental assessment.

-What, now?

-The test they did yesterday was only done at this school, today in the classroom they were only talking about it, because of something in particular they did here. The best thing is that you make it clear that you did not do anything to improve outside of the norm.

-But, Alison, I don't know what to tell the nurse, I'm not sure, I'm not very good at lying.

-Luan, you must do this, you must act immediately before the ministry of a verdict.

-You, brother, had already told me, but it slipped my mind, because of so many things.

-Luan, I feel you are very different, it is as if you are growing faster than all of us, if this continues maybe before the end of the year, maybe you already have the body of an adult person.

—...….

….. … … … . .. . . . .. .. . . . . . .

After those words we both went to the infirmary together.

-Hello.

-Hey, hi. Did something happen to your arm," the woman asked.

-It's not because of me that we're here, it's because of my friend," said Alison.

-I don't see any bruises on her body.

-Could you weigh and measure it again? And check your current statistics with which I come in.

-What are you getting at with that?

-He's developed a lot. He's even almost passed me in height.

-He's normal, he's a kid.

-Just look at the statistics.

-It's okay, I'll look at them.

She was looking at her computer, started comparing the data of income and current data.

Luan Olivera. Ce72, speed 20, resistance 17, force 15.

Luan Olivera three months later

Luan 148 speed 37, resistance 32, force 29.

Reading that left us all dismayed, it had only been weeks since I had passed the test and I was already level 2.

Alison was silent. I felt my heart beating with fear.

The nurse was just trying to find some explanation, but there was nothing she could say.

These were tense moments, I thought I was going to cry at that moment, but Alison with simple words truncated that atmosphere.

-Can we give a statement as to why this is happening?

-Eh... yes," said the nurse, hesitating.

-Before the test, we came across an irregular with electrical powers. We had a fight with this person, and Luan was injured.

-Wait a minute, was there a blackout?

-Yes, it was that day.

-Why didn't you say anything?

-We didn't want to panic, we were only days away. And you know how the government is with irregulars at that level.

-I understand, but what does that have to do with what happened to your friend?

-He received a shock, and was knocked unconscious.

-If that were true, your friend would be dead.

-It is true, but he was saved by a very strange necklace.

-Can you show it to me?

I took off the necklace, and showed it to him. She took his picture.

- He's a stranger, you can feel the energy inside him. So I see all that power bouncing off you.

-I said, "Yes.

-Hey, Alison, I need to ask him some personal questions, could you wait outside for him?

Ok--she said as she walked out.

-Why did you ask him to come out?

-I need to confirm that everything he said is true.

-Because.

-Tell me something, is everything your friend says true, or are they making it up?

-Why does he say that?

-I think he's irregular, his injuries on his body look like a fight to the death.

-If he were one, he wouldn't be here.

-Okay, so, everything she said is true.

-Yes.

-Okay, I'll send this report to the principal and the ministry of education.

-Okay, thank you.

-I have to tell you, if you keep this up, your body may not keep up with the growth rate, and it will start to fragment.

-Fragmentation?

-One part of your body is going to be more developed than another and there could be an internal shock, and it could cause you to die.

-I understand," I told the nurse, then I left the infirmary.
