Alex, "Honchkrow return!"
Ash, "Good job Fearrow."
Fearrow gave a smug look as he flew next to Ash and gently pecked his head. Ash laughed at the action before recalling Fearrow and getting off the podium and going towards the Pokemon centre. Alex did the same and left as well before approaching him while waiting for their Pokemon.
Alex, "Ash!"
Ash, "Yes?"
Alex, "How long have you had your Fearrow and Pidgeot? I can easily tell they are one of your strongest. How come you didn't use them in the previous battles?"
Ash, "Ah! Well previously they wanted to give Togekiss a chance to prove himself. Now it's Pidgeot's turn. You could say their original trainer was not a nice person."
Alex blanked for a while before a furious expression crossed his face, "So they were that type."
Ash nodded, "It took a while to get them to believe in themselves. And sometimes even now they struggle with self confidence."
Alex looked calmer, "But they are healthy and look very confident in the battle today."
Ash, "She was yes, most days they don't have problems but sometimes at night..."
Alex, "I understand."
Ash, "Yeah... You got Pokemon like that too huh?"
Alex, "Sadly yes. I wish it didn't happen but... It happens."
Brock, "Your Pokemon are good to go Ash, and your Pokemon just need a good night rest to be back at a hundred percent, Alex."
Alex, "Thank Nurse!"
Ash, "Thanks Brock. Come out Fearrow, Pidgeot."
Fearrow cawed, "Row!"
Pidgeot trilled as she nuzzled Ash, "Ot."
Ash, "Hello to you too."
Alex, "Sweet Mew! Your Pidgeot is beating and your Fearrow is very handsome. Look at those glossy feathers and shiny beak and sharp claws. They are well maintained."
Ash laughed, "Only the best for my fliers!"
Brock, "And Nurse Y, is looking for you, Ash."
Ash nodded, "Got it."
Ash, "I'll see you around Alex."
Alex, "Awww! Okay!"
Ash, "How about we meet up later?"
Alex, "That would be fun. It's a date."
Ash sweatdropped, "Uhhhh.. Not exactly but okay."
Alex grinned, "It'll be fun."
Ash walked towards the designated room Yellow had received from the League flanked by Fearrow and Pidgeot. There were not many people in the center but the two flying types decided to stay outside anyway. They were not hurt that badly and did not mind spending more time with Ash. Even if it meant they had to walk more.
Ash knocked on the door before opening it, "I'm here for the check up."
Yellow looked up smiling, "Great, take a seat."
Ash sat, "So the usual?"
Yellow nodded and produced a crystal that emitted aura swirling inside. Just like the last few days Ash put his hands on the crystal and focused on his aura. The white crystal glowed a deeper blue then the days prior making Yellow nod and Ash relax.
Yellow, "I'm very happy to note that your aura is half way back to normal."
Ash smiled, "Yeah... But I guess this means I'm still not allowed to use Milotic or Charizard or Lucario?"
Yellow, "Not till it turns a deep blue. I'm afraid not."
Fearrow nuzzled Ash, "Row fear fearrow."
Pidgeot nodded nuzzling him, "Ot pidge ot."
Lucario nodded, -I agree with them Meema. We have fought without you boosting us with your aura and won before. We can do it again.-
Yellow nodded, "True that."
Blissey passed her a clip board, "Bliss blissey bliss."
Yellow, "Thank you Blissey dear."
Ash, "I know I don't have to and training can help Pokemon become strong on their own but it's very..... "
Yellow, "Very addicting?"
Ash nodded, "Yeah... Very."
Lucario, -If Meema was someone else easily tempted he probably would have done it too.-
Ash, "You would not have allowed me to Lucario. There's a reason I bring you with me."
Lucario, -Not during the six on six battles though. I won't be there with you.-
Ash, "But you will be watching."
Lucario nodded, -Always!-
Ash blinked and smiled, "Mnn! And that's more than enough."
Yellow smiled, "I'm happy to note your bond with Lucario is as strong as always. I have no doubt you will be okay. Now to the obvious questions."
Ash sighed, "Sure!"
Yellow, "Are you feeling exhaustion?"
Ash, "Not anymore."
Yellow, "Physical pain?"
Ash, "No physical pain."
Yellow, "Is your appetite back to normal? Or are you still eating a lot then throwing up?"
Ash winced remembering that, "I'm OK now."
Lucario sighed remembering what happened after the Orange League party, Ash had eaten a lot and then later on thrown up. Lucario, Pikachu and Milotic had gotten a heart attack that night but Ash had waved them off saying he had over eaten. They had accepted it and Ash had stuck to drinking a liquids more than eating solids. Ash had insisted he was just feeling the last of the adrenaline rush from the League battle when Misty, Gou and Chloe talked to him about it. It was only when Riley checked him they even realized what was going on with Ash.
Lucario clenched his paw, 'Never again. Only during emergencies.'
Yellow had finished asking her questions, "Alright that's the last of it. I am happy to see you are doing well. I'll give Riley and Drake a heads up so you don't have to worry about them worrying."
Ash, "I don't intentionally want to worry others you know. I didn't even know this would happen."
Yellow, "We know Ash, we know. Things just happen. Now off you go."
Ash, "See you around Yellow."
Lucario bowed, -Thank you for helping Meema.-
Yellow smiled waving him off, "No thanks needed Lucario. We are family after all, we need to stick together. There aren't many humans out there who can use aura actively. You can count them all in one hand. Even with the possible passive users, our population is unfortunately very limited."
Lucario, -I know. Which is why I'm grateful one of us is a healer. My pack and I were at wits end on how to help Ash.-
Yellow looked at him in understanding, "You can come to me for help any time."
Ash, "Hey let's go, Lucario."
Lucario, -Coming Meema! See you later, healer Yellow.-
Lucario went outside and they met up with the others before going together to one of the mess halls. Ash met up with Alex later and had a mock training battle and dinner with him, he supposed it was a date as it was between two people. But their Pokemon were with them too, so it wouldn't be right to call it a date, a get together perhaps would be a more correct term. The next day Ash got his next field and opponent which were am electric field and someone called Sho. The name was familiar but he couldn't put his finger why or where.
A voice came, "So you are my opponent. The name is Sho, don't you forget it."
Ash blinked, "Ash, nice to meet you."
Sho, "See you in the battlefield, Champ."
Ash sweatdropped, "You can call me Ash... And he's gone."
Pikachu grumbled, "Pika chuuuu pika."
Ash, "Good thing I chose you last night eh buddy."
Pikachu cooed as they went to their designated arena, "Pikapi!"
Announcer, "Welcome to the third day of the elimination matches. Trainers choose your Pokemon."
Sho, "Let's go Mareep!"
Ash, "Buddy!"
Pikachu ran to the field, "Pika!"
Announcer, "Begin!"
Sho, "Cotton guard!"
Ash, "Agility followed by electro ball."
Mareep used cotton guard that increased his defenses and Pikachu used agility to increase his speed. Pikachu got closer to Mareep before releasing his concentrated electro ball, which looked white rather than yellow and was painful. Mareep gulped as he stood his ground and faced electro ball head on only to give a screech of pain.
Sho, "Ma Mareep! Are you okay?"
Mareep's body shook from the electricity, "Maaaaaerrr!"
Sho narrowed his eyes, "That was not a normal electro ball."
Ash smiled, "You are right, it is not a normal electric attack. My Pikachu has been training on increasing the heat and shock factor of his attacks. Without accidentally killing our opponents of course."
Sho, "I see. Your Pikachu has gone that far already."
Ash shook his head, "Not already, he just started on it, so it's still as you can see unstable."
Sho looked at Mareep, "Mareep! Your wool!"
Ash, "It was supposed to knock Mareep out, but then again it could also be your Mareep has a powerful lightning rod ability so that's why he is standing."
Pikachu, "Pika?"
Ash, "Iron tail, knock him out."
Pikachu nodded and rushed towards Mareep and hit him using iron tail right on the spot Venasaur had shown them once. It had been one of their interactive training sessions, where they learned to hit on places that gave the fastest results. Mareep gave a weak protest before falling knocked out to the battlefield.
Announcer, "Mareep is unable to battle, Pikachu wins the match. Choose your next Pokemon."
Sho looked between Pikachu and Ash contemplatively, "The battle just started for a few seconds not even a full minute and I am already one Pokemon down. Okay! I'm using my strongest Pokemon. Let's go Magnezone."
Magnezone, "Zoneeee!"
Ash gave a whistle, "That's one very healthy Magnezone."
Announcer, "Begin!"
Sho, "Electric terrain!"
Ash could feel the power of electricity from where he was standing, "Powerful move!"
Pikachu cooed at the terrain, he had used half of his reserves in using the overpowered electro ball, "Chaaaaaa!"
Pikachu thanked his opponent who looked at him incredulously when he saw what Pikachu was doing. Usually Pokemon never bothered using the terrain moves of other Pokemon to boost themselves. Magnezone looked back at his trainer wondering what or rather who he gotten himself involved with again. He had been with Sho since he was a child, a birthday gift so to speak for proving himself responsible.
Sho, "Magnezone use electro ball."
Ash, "Use your own electro ball."
Pikachu and Magnezone both used electro balls to attack. It was a very interesting sight, yellow and white electricity clashing in the shape of balls. Magnezone understood now why his opponent had no problem absorbing his electric terrain. His opponent may look like a young Pikachu but in reality he was without a doubt stronger than he looked.
Sho, "Supersonic!"
Ash, "Agility!"
Sho, "He's fast, man I want a Pikachu now. Use hyperbeam!"
Ash, "Double team! Followed by reflect!"
Pikachu used double team to confuse Magnezone but Magnezone did not bat am eye lid and shot one hyperbeam after another at the illusion. Pikachu used reflect when Magnezone started shooting and when hyperbeam hit the real reflect move it bounced back towards Magnezone. The magnet Pokemon moved away from the attack before turning around only to see Pikachu close to him.
Ash, "Iron tail."
Pikachu gave a grin and brought down a powerful iron tail on Magnezone, "Pikaaa!"
Announcer, "Magnezone is unable to battle, Pikachu is the winner."
Sho, "That was fast!"
Ash, "Pikachu! Great job!"
Pikachu jumped on Ash some of the electricity travelling through his trainer harmlessly, "Chaaaaaa Pikapi!"
Ash, "Let's go!"
Sho, "Return Magnezone."
Sho ran after Ash, "Wait.... What do you mean earlier by healthy?"
Ash turned around with Pikachu on his shoulder, "The last Magnezone I saw belonged to a jerk of a trainer. He is quite small compared to yours."
Sho, "Ah!"
Ash, "Come on, let's get your Mareep to Brock. He knows how to deal with my Pikachu's attack."
Sho, "Brock?"
Ash nodded, "Yup, he is training to become a Pokemon Doctor. We have many Nurse Joys and Jims and there's nothing wrong with them. But we only know one Doctor Abbey for Pokemon. Brock wants to change that and become Kanto's very first Pokemon Doctor."
Sho, "That's some big shoes he has to fill."
Ash smiled, "It's one of his dreams."
Sho, "What happened to the Magnezone you met?"
Ash, "Last I heard, he was given to Lt Surge for rehabilitation and he is healing, as far as I know."
Sho, "Uncle Surge?"
Ash gave a nod despite the surprise, 'Ah! Now I know why he sounds so familiar. He is that Sho who wanted the originals Pikachu and was rumoured to be related to Surge. Ah! They are related!'
Ash, "Yeah! Here we are! Brock can you help Mareep, he took Pikachu's electro ball head on."
Brock winced, "The same electro ball that took out Onix? Yeah give him here."
Nurse Joy, "Give me your Pokemon Ash, I'll take care of Pikachu."
Miltank came out of her pokeball as well, "Mil mil."
Ash gave her a head rub, "So sorry girl, I'm afraid Pikachu dominated the field this time. I will use you in the next battle okay?"
Miltank pouted but nodded, she knew sometimes her herd tended to be over enthusiastic about making their attacks very powerful. Next time she would be the one to win the battle, her Tauros mate had already won one battle and proven his strength. It was now her turn to show her tenacity.
Nurse Joy, "Your Pikachu is fine Ash, just exhausted."
Ash, "That's good."
Pikachu, "Pikapi!"
Brock, "Sho, your Pokemon will be alright as well. They just need rest."
Sho, "Thank you Brock!"
(To be continued....
Just got my second vaccine shot.
Unlike my first one this second one is making me feel woozy. Hopefully this feeling will pass soon.
Edit: I thought I uploaded this yesterday but I just saw today that I didn't. I was completely out of it. Yikes!)
