Ambush
Jake was almost screaming his lungs out . This was a practical nightmare.
" Oh my god " Elena said as she stared wife eyed at the village below them.
This was a fight between humans and it seemed to be in medieval ages. There was also a group of people approaching where they stood .
" Elena we got to go " He said as he grabbed her hand and dashed to the forest however fate other plans as a brute saw them escape.
" Some villagers have escaped !! " A brute said and their leader told them to go catch them .
The duo ran followed by a group of 4 brutes who were catching up .
Suddenly the forest turned quiet as the two as if by magic disappeared from their sites and the brutes stopped slowly.
" They can't be far , search for them " Their group leader said.
Jake and Elena were currently on top of a tree.
They were quiet but their faces showed they were both in panic . There was bandit who approached the tree they both hid and the two decided to execute their plan.
Elena jumped down first followed by Jake.
Elena appeared in front of the bandit and before the bandit could sheath his sword , Jake hit his head using his feet before doing a backflip . Elena used the moment to take the sword and cut his neck.

Jake took a dagger and a bag of gold while Elena kept the sword and the two continued running.
" There they are !! " A bandit shouted and the pursuit continued .
" They killed Cody !!" Another shouted and their was a battle roar as they charged even more determined to kill the duo.
However the two disappeared again . The three bandits now look frustrated .
" You think you're smart huh . Just because you were able to kill one of my men !! " The leader shouted to them his face flushed with anger.
The bandits decided to stay together so as to have a better fighting chance. There was a rustle of leaves in one of the trees and the leader didn't hesitate slicing it .
The tree fell down and his men praised him for his strength . Without warning he was stabbed and fell down revealing Jake.
The two bandits went to attack but Jake used [ intimidation ]. It didn't do much since they were level 4 as showed on top of their heads with the dead leader being 9 however it did startle them a little bit which changed the outcome of the battle.
Elena appeared behind them slashed one of the guys. The bandit remaining diverted his attention to Elena but before he could attack Jake drove the dagger into his head.

" That was scary " Elena said.
" Yeah but we better get going , there might be some more coming " Jake said and Elena nodded her head.
The two continued their journey this time less terrified.
" Hey Elena " Jake said.
" Hmm ?"
" I really appreciate , you know your plan. " Jake said.
Elena didn't say any words. She had already figured out Jake by then . He didn't want to feel indebted to her and right now in this strange world with no power she wanted Jake to be on her side so she decided not to say anything fearing staying in the strange world forever.
As they walked a while longer , an arrow passed them. They looked behind to see even more bandits. Apparently the leader of the small group was the brother of the whole bandits leader .
" Run !! " They both dashed for it maneuvering as the forest got denser until it suddenly stopped on a waterfall.
" Let's jump " Jake said .
" What !! Are you mad ? We'll probably die " Elena said
" That's a probability and if we stay here we will surely die " Jake said.
" B-but , I can't " It was then that Jake remembered Elena had a phobia of height .
" Kill them !! " Jake took Elena's hand.
" It's gonna be ok " Jake said reassuringly . He didn't know why he was comforting . Probably because she looked helpless and as much as Jake despised her , he had a soft side in helping people more helpless than him.
Elena nodded slowly . They slowly walked back and ran to the waterfall and jumped.
